Provide customer service related to Central Park / Lake Elizabeth boating operations in an efficient and courteous manner. Supervise activities on lake and surrounding areas. Respond to visitor concerns, operate a cash register, provide correct change, handle credit card transactions, maintain a clean and well-equipped worksite. Works well as part of a team in a fun, fast-paced outdoor environment. Employees are expected to work weekends and holidays.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES (This is a general description of duties and is not all-inclusive)
The Lead Lifeguard is an hourly employee of the Recreation Service Department. The position is supervised by the Water Safety Coordinator and Operations Supervisor. The primary responsibility is the supervision of on-site recreation activities at the Aqua Adventure Waterpark and safe operations of all rides. This responsibility may include supervision of staff, public assistance, public education, enforcement of rules and regulations, administration of first aid and life support, writing schedules, light maintenance, and water chemical testing.
The Shallow Water Lifeguard is responsible for the supervision of on-site recreation activities at the Aqua Adventure Waterpark and safe operations of all rides (in water 4 ft or less). This responsibility may include public assistance, public education, enforcement of rules and regulations, administration of first aid and life support, and light maintenance. The Lifeguard is expected to work weekends and holidays on a regular basis.
The Pool Tech is an hourly employee of the Parks & Recreation Department. The Pool Tech’s primary responsibility is the maintenance of on-site recreation facilities at the Aqua Adventure Water Park and the safe operation of all rides. This responsibility includes water testing, writing reports, pool cleaning, general facility cleaning, public assistance and public education. The Pool Tech is expected to work evenings, weekends and holidays on a regular basis.
The Recreation Leader I/II reports to the Recreation Coordinator, and in the absence of a Recreation Coordinator, may report to Recreation Leader III. The position is responsible for: planning, organizing, and leading a variety of recreation activities. Typical activities include but are not limited to the following: environmental education, arts, crafts, sports, games, contests and special events for a particular group of participants.
7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
Three days per week depending on assigned section:
Parks/Landscape Section: Friday – Sunday OR Saturday – Monday
Streets/Waste Water/Trees Section: Monday – Wednesday OR Wednesday - Friday
ABOUT THE POSITION
Under the supervision of the Recreation Coordinator, provides instruction to swimmers, attend practices and swim meets and prepare swim meet event scheduling.
