The Department: 

The Water and Sewer Utilities Department is a utility enterprise that provides planning, design, construction, maintenance, and operation of the City's water distribution system, sewer collection system, and recycled water system. The Position: 

This is the entry level maintenance position for the Water and Sewer Utility. Typically, you will be assigned to a crew, and will perform semi-skilled work on water or sewer infrastructure. This position will require odd hours and sometimes extended days if jobs run long. You will come in contact with raw sewage, working in knee deep mud, and working around trenches, often on busy city streets.
  
 Under direction, this position operates, maintains, inspects, repairs, and rehabilitates or replaces the water, sanitary sewer, and/or recycled water systems of the City of Santa Clara. This position performs heavy physical labor while performing planned maintenance and repair or emergency response for the City's utility systems and the associated appurtenances.
  
 This position requires one (1) year of related experience. Related experience may include job duties such as pipefitting, plumbing, commercial or residential construction, underground construction, landscaping, paving, steelworker, HVAC, paving, and heavy equipment operations.

ABOUT THE POSITION

 

The City of Redwood City, Police Department invites you to apply for the position of Administrative Secretary. The incumbent will perform a variety of confidential and complex secretarial and administrative duties as the court liaison as well as providing support to the Investigations Unit.

 

Typical duties may include the following: interact professionally and effectively with judges, district attorneys, defense attorneys, court personnel, law enforcement personnel, outside agencies, and members of the public; provide administrative and operational support for court-related functions and law enforcement investigations within the Police Department; prepare, process, maintain, and distribute court documents, reports, subpoenas, warrants, confidential criminal justice information, and related records in accordance with department policies, legal requirements, and confidentiality standards; serve as a liaison between the Police Department, courts, the District Attorney’s Office, and other agencies regarding scheduling, case information, filings, warrants, subpoenas, records, procedural matters, and time-sensitive deadlines; ensure criminal cases are adequately prepared for court proceedings by reviewing, analyzing, and organizing reports, citations, case files, digital evidence, body-worn camera footage, surveillance video, photographs, audio recordings, and related investigative materials for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with legal, statutory, and departmental requirements; respond to complaints and requests for information regarding department procedures, court processes, instructions, precedents, and regulations; research, compile, and analyze data for special projects and reports; initiate, maintain, and audit files, records, and databases related to court operations, case management, evidence, warrants, and other department records; assist with records retention and compliance with applicable laws, policies, and confidentiality requirements; maintain and update manuals, policies, and resource materials; monitor compliance with court orders, subpoenas, and legal deadlines; exercise independent judgment and discretion while working in a fast-paced environment involving sensitive and confidential information; provide backup support to other Police Department administrative staff as needed; and perform related duties as assigned. POLICE OFFICER - Academy Graduate - $8,419 to $11,416 per month (up to $13,128 with incentives)

The City of Pleasant Hill is currently seeking applicants for Police Officer Academy Graduate. We offer excellent pay, benefits, opportunities for promotion, as well as the opportunity to serve a great community that values the services we provide.

Police Officers can serve in patrol, traffic, investigations, and K-9 assignments. Other collateral opportunities include instructor positions (Firearms and Force Options Team), Regional SWAT, Mobile Field Force, 10851 Task Force, CSI, Regional Major Accident Investigation Team, Driving Team with firearms and force options team, Crisis Intervention Team (CIT), FBI Safe Streets Task Force, SET Team, Drone Team, Social Media Team, Community Resource Officer, School Resource Officer, and Field Training Officers. Specialty assignments may add an additional 5% pay. 

Officers work 12-hour shifts as part of a team concept. Shift schedules include 4-10 and 3-12, which may be changed periodically as job assignments may be rotated among patrol, traffic, and criminal investigation.  Night shifts include 5% additional pay. 

 

EDUCATION:

Academy Graduates (no sworn experience) - High school diploma and a minimum of 45 units of college-level course work, in addition to graduation from a P.O.S.T. basic academy.

Academy Graduate candidates with an honorable discharge may be credited with up to 15 semester units for a minimum of 3 years of active duty in the U.S. Armed Services (Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines and Coast Guard).

• Prior to entering the law enforcement academy training program, perform a wide variety of police support duties which may include dispatching and records, duties acting as desk officer and/or assisting in planning and research activities.

Typical Qualifications

• Learn to use and property care for firearms.

Experience & Education: Any combination of experience and education that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:

• Experience: None required, although previous experience in law enforcement is desirable.
• Education:  High school diploma and 60 units of college-level course work. Candidates with an honorable discharge may be credited with up to 15 semester units for a minimum of 3 years of active duty in the U.S. Armed Services (Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines and Coast Guard).

Maintenance Worker 2 - Street Maintenance Division

Salary: $37.60 - $47.99 Hourly

The City of Sunnyvale is excited to announce an opportunity for dedicated individuals to fill (2) regular full-time Maintenance Worker 2 positions in the Street Maintenance Division of the Public Works Department. This position plays a key role in supporting the upkeep of the City's streets and traffic safety-related infrastructure. We are seeking dependable, detail-oriented individuals with strong customer service skills to join our team.

 

Responsibilities include performing a range of semi-skilled and manual labor tasks, such as repairing and maintaining traffic signs, applying roadway striping, installing pavement markings, and removing graffiti. These positions also perform traffic control, completing asphalt and minor concrete repairs, and carrying out other right-of-way maintenance duties as needed.
