ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY:
The Business Operations Coordinator (BOC) is responsible for developing, implementing and monitoring efficient systems to manage the District’s business office, properties, entrepreneurial enterprises, service and vendor contracts, media management, and IT support services. This includes ensuring compliance with regulatory mandates, facility requirements, and workplace safety.

The BOC is a full-time exempt position that reports directly to the CEO.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. 1. Provides comprehensive administrative and operational support to ensure effective implementation and community impact.
   1. Coordinates District-sponsored and community outreach events—in both virtual and in-person formats—in collaboration with District leadership.
   2. Provides oversight of the District office operations to identify opportunities to improve efficiencies, inventory and supplies management, document, and key security, tracking annual policy review and report filing requirements, and utilization of classroom facilities.
   3. Maintains a clean, well-organized office environment for team and visitors.
   4. Assists the Strategic Initiatives Director in managing the Community Health Investment portfolio, including utilizing and maintaining the District’s grant management software to track and support the community grants program.
   5. Oversees and manages district office operations and leasing budgets.
   6. Maintains IT services, triaging issues, tracking performance of various pieces of equipment, and helping identify IT issues that may benefit from more user training.
   7. Assists with accounting tasks as directed by CEO, including processing bank deposits and printing checks with Staff Accountant.
   8. Maintains a system for managing and regularly auditing vendor contracts to ensure compliance with performance obligations and identify opportunities for cost and service improvements.
   9. Contributes to the overall success of the District by providing support to programs and initiatives as assigned by the CEO.
2. Serving as primary PHCD contact for tenants, property manager, and vendors serving the eight District-owned properties This includes such activities as:
   1. Tracks lease terms and rent increases and taking timely, appropriate actions via Doorloop.
   2. Maintains effective tenant relationships with professionals and their staff.
   3. Establishes and carrying out a preventative maintenance program for all buildings in collaboration with the CFO and property manager.
   4. Primary liaison for facilities consultants
   5. Makes periodic rounds to ensure tenants are compliant with their property maintenance obligations.
   6. Works with leasing agent when a vacancy occurs.
3. Overseeing and strengthening all District communication channels, ensuring consistency, compliance, and effective public engagement.
   1. Manages all District websites are compliant with regulatory and special district transparency requirements, content is current, and sites are “user-friendly”
   2. Serves as primary liaison with the District’s communications and website professionals
   3. Serves as primary point person for coordinating, producing, and tracking analytics of external communications for websites, e-newsletter, social media, and related materials, in collaboration with the CEO, Directors, and District communications and marketing professionals.
4. In the absence of the Executive Assistant:
   1. Provides administrative support to Board Members, Board Committees, including scheduling meetings, preparing and distributing noticed meeting materials, and coordinating meeting logistics.
   2. Supports the CEO and Board with daily calendar management, communications, event and conference bookings, annual board policy review, staff meetings, and District transparency recertifications.
5. And all other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• Experience supporting administrative staff
• Working for or with government/public agencies in California (preferred, not required)
• Experience with a range of standard office equipment
• Experience with technology modalities, including setting up of devices and light technology troubleshooting

EDUCATION AND BACKGROUND

COMPENSATION & BENEFIT S
This is a full-time position. Compensation range based on experience: $55,000 - $85,000.
DOE. In addition, Peninsula Health Care District benefits include: CalPers Pension, CalPers

The City of Berkeley invites you to apply for the position of Equipment Parts Technician in the Public Works Department! In this role, you will have the opportunity to plan, monitor, and manage the ordering, purchasing, storing, billing, issuing and maintenance control of equipment parts, accessories and supplies utilized in the service and repair of the City vehicles and equipment and to perform other related duties.

There are two shop locations – one at the Corporation Yard which focuses on light duty vehicles and one at the Transfer Station which focuses on heavy duty vehicles. This is an amazing opportunity for a self starter to organize the parts room and support the staff, the division, and the entire City fleet.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

A typical way of gaining the knowledge, skills, and abilities for this position is equivalent to graduation from high school and two (2) years of experience ordering, purchasing, issuing, and maintaining electronic inventory systems for heavy equipment parts and/or automotive parts and accessories.

Other requirements include possessing a valid California driver's license and have a satisfactory driving record.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Frequent walking, standing, sitting, kneeling, squatting, twisting, and bending at the waist. Ability to hear automotive sounds, read fine print, and view a computer monitor. Sufficient strength and stamina to lift and transport parts weighing up to 80 pounds. Manual dexterity for detailed mechanical work and computer use. 

WORKING CONDITIONS
Work is performed indoors and outdoors with exposure to hot and cold environments. Noise level ranges from moderate to high. Potential exposure to hazardous materials and emergency conditions. Must be available to work evening and weekend shifts.

ABOUT THE POSITION

The City of Redwood City invites you to apply for the position of ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT. The Water and Sewer Utilities Department (Department) is a utility enterprise responsible for the planning, design, construction, maintenance, and operation of the City's water distribution, sewer collection, and recycled water systems. The Department ensures the reliable delivery of safe drinking water, the efficient collection and conveyance of wastewater, and the sustainable use of recycled water resources to support the community and protect public health and the environment. The Position: 

This is an entry-level maintenance position within the Department. Incumbents are typically assigned to a crew and perform semi-skilled work related to the maintenance, repair, and operation of water, sewer, or recycled water infrastructure. This position may require working irregular hours and extended shifts when job assignments run longer than expected or during emergency response activities. Employees may be exposed to raw sewage, muddy conditions, trenches, and work environments located on busy city streets.

 

Under direction, this position performs work related to the operation, maintenance, inspection, repair, rehabilitation, and replacement of the City of Santa Clara’s water distribution system, sanitary sewer collection system, and recycled water system. Work includes performing heavy physical labor associated with routine maintenance, system repairs, and emergency response activities related to the City's utility infrastructure and associated appurtenances.

 

This position requires one (1) year of related experience. Related experience may include work involving pipefitting, plumbing, commercial or residential construction, underground utility construction, landscaping, paving, warehouse operations, facility maintenance, steelwork, HVAC work, or heavy equipment operations.

 

As an as-needed employee, this is an "at-will" position and there is no guarantee of hours. Hours are limited to 999 in a fiscal year or 960 hours in a fiscal year for retired CalPERS annuitants.

Collection System Workers operate and maintain sanitary sewer infrastructure while providing excellent customer service to the Ross Valley community.

ABOUT THE POSITION

CSWs perform a variety of skilled - journey level work and manual labor in the operations, maintenance, and repair of sewer lines and related mechanical, hydraulic and hand-operated equipment. Collection System Workers are on a 9/80 schedule - Monday through Thursday from 6:00 am to 3:30 pm, with Fridays alternating between 6:00 am -2:30 pm and off work. All Collection System Workers also work on a rotating “on call” basis.

SAMPLE DUTIES OF THE CSW CLASSIFICATION INCLUDE:

• Participate in inspecting, cleaning, maintaining, constructing, and repairing of wastewater collection systems utilizing a variety of mechanical and specialized equipment including, but not limited to, rodders, CCTVs, high velocity cleaners, vacuum trucks, construction equipment, and related equipment.

• Participate in confined space entries including, but not limited to, atmospheric monitoring, hazard mitigation, and appropriate safety procedures.
• Respond to and investigate service calls or complaints concerning such matters as sewer odors, sewer trouble, and sewer back-ups, and make the necessary corrections.
• Participate in and, upon passing District criteria, direct the spill stoppage, containment, and cleanup of emergency situations and wastewater spills, including occasional 24/7 on-call duty as Primary or Secondary Stand-by.
• Perform a range of activities related to locating and marking sanitary sewer infrastructure and underground utility lines using a variety of equipment.
• Communicate and interact with the public, local government, and other utility personnel in a courteous, professional manner.
• Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• Completion of the twelfth grade, or its equivalent.
• Two years general maintenance and construction experience
• Valid California Class "C" Driver's License
• Must have a satisfactory driving record and continue to meet District vehicle liability insurance company driving standards.

To be considered for the CSW II classification, two years of collection system maintenance and operations is required.

Licensing, Certification, and Registration:

Interested Candidates who do not have the certifications listed below are encouraged to apply and work toward acquiring the certifications prior to the end of the 12-month probationary period. Certification
training occurs on District time. Candidates must complete and possess required certifications to pass probation. By the end of probation, possession of the following licensures, certifications, and/or registrations

The City of Redwood City invites you to apply for the position of High School or College Summer intern for the Community Development Department. This employment opportunity is excellent for a well-organized “people person” seeking some summer work experience and getting exposure to government and specifically to work in the Community Development Department.

The primary responsibility of this position is to help with document scanning, managing mail outs, answering phones, data entry and document preparation. The position will also be able to shadow planners and building staff on counter duties, attend meetings, and assist staff on planning projects as schedule permits.

This summer intern position is a non-benefited casual position. This casual position work schedule will vary (as needed) between 15-20 hours per week and will be in-person on three days between Monday-Thursday. The position start and end date are flexible based on applicant’s needs but generally anticipated to last a maximum of 10 weeks.
