DEFINITION: Under general supervision from Preschool Instructor(s) and the Recreation Supervisor, the preschool aide assists in planning, organizing, and implementing preschool programming for children ages 2-5 years old in a range of classes from introductory drop-off preschool classes to Kindergarten preparedness preschool classes. Program hours are M-F PM 8:30am – 1:00pm. Approximately 20– 23 hours a week. Preschool aides must be willing and able to both take direction from the Preschool Instructor and work independently when fulfilling tasks. Substitute and on-call positions also available.

• Assists in the development, coordination, planning, implementing and supervising the day-to-day activities, themes and special events for an ongoing preschool program.

Position Duties

The Parks, Recreation and Neighborhood Services Department is currently seeking to fill one (1) full-time Parks, Recreation Facilities Supervisor vacancy in the Parks Division at Happy Hollow Park & Zoo.

The total salary range for the Parks, Recreation, and Facilities Supervisor classification is $112,563.36 - $137,220.72 annually.

The Parks, Recreation and Facilities Supervisor at  HHPZ plans, directs, coordinates, and supervises park operations (Parking, Admission, Membership, Guest Services, Food & Beverage, Entertainment, Celebrations, Admin services, Rides, Facility Maintenance, Park Maintenance), programs, budgeting, hiring, and contract management. 

The Parks, Recreation and Facilities Supervisor plays a critical role in developing the future strategic plan which includes managing facility improvement projects that support the mission of HHPZ. ABOUT THE POSITION
The City is recruiting for a full-time Housing and Community Services Manager (HCSM) to advance and strengthen the City’s efforts in affordable housing production and preservation, homelessness response, tenant protections, and coordination of supportive services for vulnerable community members. Since the creation of the Housing and Community Services Division, it has become a key part of the City’s strategy to address city-wide housing challenges. This leadership position offers a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact on housing accessibility, homelessness response, and community well-being in Gilroy. 

Under the general direction of the Community Development Director, the HCSM will plan, direct, and oversee the operations and programs of the Housing and Community Services Division and provide leadership and oversight of the development and administration of housing programs and grant-funded initiatives that support long-term housing affordability and stability for residents, including unhoused and at-risk populations. Working collaboratively with public agencies, nonprofit organizations, regional partners, and community stakeholders, the HCSM will help implement innovative housing solutions and advance strategic initiatives aligned with City goals and community priorities.

Depending on area of assignment, previous knowledge of and experience participating in the activity and/or sport is desirable. 

Recreation Leader III:  Equivalent to completion of the twelfth (12) grade.  Equivalent to six (6) months full-time experience (approximately 1,000 hours) of volunteer or paid work experience equivalent to a Recreation Leader II with the City of Millbrae. Depending on area of assignment, previous knowledge of and experience participating in the activity and/or sport is desirable.

Certificates:  Must possess a first aid/CPR certification or be willing to obtain one. 

Service Standards:
