• Confer with end user and define application requirements; recommend and develop solutions; conduct cost/benefit analyses; prepare justification for new or enhanced modifications; ensure that recommendations comply with Valley Water standards and conventions; Research and evaluate systems for technical fit and fit for purpose and fit for use for the business.
• Develop written technical documentation, internal operating procedures, and user manuals and instructions; develop instructional materials and conduct training programs on new or enhanced applications; update technical and training manuals as required.
• Serve as a technical resource for maintaining, enhancing, and upgrading the department’s current and long-term computer system operations.

Infrastructure Services Unit (Position Code 27) 

Valley Water Telework Program: Eligibility for telework will depend on the type of work performed, operational needs, and the ability for the employee to perform the essential functions of their job duties while teleworking. Employment with Valley Water requires employees to live within 150 miles of their primary physical work location located in San Jose, California by their start date.

Labor Relations Unit (Position Code 834)

On-Call Expectations

Emergency Coordinators may be assigned on-call duties with a minimum of 7 days' advance notice, distributed equitably among qualified staff. During on-call periods, employees must remain within 30 miles of the facility and respond within 30 minutes of notification while maintaining reliable communication. Employees will be compensated for all on-call hours outside of normal working hours under applicable labor standards and collective bargaining agreements. Employees retain the right to engage in personal activities during on-call periods, cannot be assigned more than 7 consecutive days without a 48-hour break, and maintain full union representation rights and grievance procedures for any on-call related issues. All provisions comply with Fair Labor Standards Act requirements and union standards for emergency worker compensation and working conditions.

Experience: At least one year of experience supporting emergency planning, response coordination, training, or related public service activities

Preferred:

• ICS 100, 200, 700, and 800 certifications (or willingness to obtain)
• Familiarity with EOC functions and emergency notification systems

The Skilled Trades Internship Program has three (3) internship opportunities among three (3) of our plants: Silicon Valley Advanced Water Purification Center*, Rinconada Water Treatment Plant, and Santa Teresa Water Treatment Plant.
 
NOTE: Advanced Water Purification Center is categorized as a Wastewater facility, and interning at this facility only qualifies for Wastewater treatment operator licenses. Both Rinconada and Santa Teresa water treatment plants are conventional T-5 drinking water facilities.
 
INTERNSHIP LOCATION STATUS:
This internship position will require the selected candidate to report on-site 100% of the time, adhering to strict safety protocols. Interns will be placed at one of three locations, the Silicon Valley Advanced Water Purification Center, the Rinconada Water Treatment Plant, or the Santa Teresa Water Treatment Plant.

 

• Currently enrolled in or completed an Engineering, Science, or Water Related Program in the last six (6) months.
• Pursuing state certification to be an operator at a Drinking Water Treatment Facility or an Advanced Water Treatment Facility. (PLEASE NOTE: high school graduates are automatically qualified to take the entry level Grade T1 state exam and obtain their certification right away)
• Community service and safety orientation.

The City of Auburn is looking for an Administrative Services Technician, a unique role where you'll contribute equally to our Finance and Human Resources departments!

ABOUT THE POSITION

We're seeking a detail-oriented and adaptable professional to make an immediate impact. Your time will be split equally between the two departments, with a primary focus on payroll processing. Beyond that, this role offers a variety of technical and paraprofessional work, including accounts payable and receivable, accounting, cash handling, budget, benefits administration, recruitment, customer service and other essential technical-level functions.

DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS

A paraprofessional classification requiring specialized administrative and technical skills to perform semi-complex, administrative, support and confidential duties. The role is distinguished from lower classifications by its scope of work and requirements for specialized training and technical proficiency. This classification performs recurring tasks and solves problems independently under general supervision from the department director or assigned supervisor, and does not exercise supervision over staff.

REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES

The City of Dixon is looking to fill one full-time, regular position of Accountant in the Finance Department. This position performs professional level accounting functions such as recording and reporting financial transactions, review of financial records; provides fiscal control for assigned areas of operation, preparation of financial report statements and analyzes. This is not a remote position and work schedule will be Monday through Friday, onsite.

Accountant - This classification is the entry level, mid-management position in the accounting series. Professional level work is performed, and incumbents are expected to perform the full range of accounting duties with minimal supervision. Successful performance in this position requires a thorough knowledge of governmental accounting procedures and the ability to exercise sound judgement within established guidelines.

The Department: 

The Purchasing Division resides in the City's Finance Department and maintains a "centralized purchasing system" that is responsible for all purchasing and contracting activity for supplies, materials, and equipment as well as general and professional services.  The Division also operates a Central Warehouse, with over 3,000 inventory items primarily to support the City's utility departments (Silicon Valley Power and the Water and Sewer Departments). The Division is also responsible for the disposition of surplus property and the City mailroom.

The Division will soon expand its warehouse operations with the opening of a second warehouse to support Silicon Valley Power’s infrastructure projects. This recruitment is to fill the Chief Storekeeper position that will manage operations at the current central warehouse, as the incumbent Chief Storekeeper will be transitioning over to the new warehouse.

The Position: 

The Chief Storekeeper is a classified position responsible for overseeing day-to-day warehouse operations, including:

• Oversee a wide variety of materials, supplies, and related equipment 
• Receiving, storing, and issuing supplies, tools, and equipment 
• Ensuring accurate inventory tracking and efficient material handling
• Providing direction to departments for orders of materials
• Supervising a team consisting of two Material Handlers and one Senior Materials Handler in the efficient requisition and issue of materials and supplies

 • Graduation from high school or possession of a GED
 • Three (3) years of experience in storekeeping, warehousing or inventory control, at least one (1) year of which shall have been in a supervisory or lead capacity

In this full-time role, you’ll be the lead for our 2–3-year-old classroom, helping our youngest learners grow through play, learning, and exploration. You’ll create a safe and engaging space, support toilet training and diapering, and build meaningful connections with children and families. Depending on program needs, your work hours will be either 7:30 AM–4:30 PM or 9:00 AM–6:00 PM.

The position is open to both external candidates as a Limited Term position and current County employees through a Work-Out-of-Class assignment (up to 18 months).

This is a Limited Term position.  Limited term positions are full-time, fully benefited, temporary positions.  The current position is funded for up to 18 months and could extend longer depending on the department’s needs.  Limited Term employees receive medical and dental benefits, like regular employees, and a defined contribution retirement plan (401-A).

The BP&P unit manages the County’s $5 billion budget, oversees performance reporting, coordinates fiscal policy, and leads strategic initiatives across departments. Analysts are deeply involved in building the County’s operating and capital budgets from the ground up — gathering data, consulting with departments, evaluating requests, and helping shape budget strategy.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Budget Development and Creation

• Analyze revenue forecasts, expenditure plans, and fund balances to ensure accurate, balanced budgets.
• Draft budget documents, schedules, narrative justifications, and presentations for leadership and the Board of Supervisors.

• Support the County’s transition to enhanced or new budget platforms and tools.

Fiscal Policy and System Support

• Maintain accuracy and consistency of budget data across departments using a variety of systems and Excel-based tools.
• Use financial models and data visualization to highlight trends, risks, and opportunities.

Strategic and Analytical Work

• Evaluate fiscal implications of department proposals and develop funding recommendations.
• Produce reports, dashboards, and decision packages that support executive decision-making.
• Support capital planning, resource allocation, and long-term financial forecasting.
• Conceive of and execute analytical projects for County Executives and the Board of Supervisors.

Performance and Project Management

• Coordinate and manage special projects, including the Children, Youth & Family Budget, Youth Commission, Lean improvement initiatives, and Measure K funding allocations.
• Engage with stakeholders at all levels to implement policy and funding strategies.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience

Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is qualifying, unless otherwise specified. A typical way to qualify is: 

• A bachelor’s degree in public administration, business, finance, political science, or related field plus three years of analyst experience; OR
• A master’s degree in the same fields plus one year of analyst experience; OR
• Five years of progressively responsible analyst experience in a public or nonprofit agency.

Knowledge of

• Public budgeting and financial management processes in government.
• Financial reporting, cost accounting, and multi-year forecasting.
• ERP or similar systems, Excel modeling, and data presentation tools.
• Local government operations and interdepartmental coordination.

Skill/Ability to
