OVERVIEW 
The Judicial Council of California is accepting applications for the position of Construction Inspector with the Facilities Services office. 

The Construction Inspector is responsible for providing technical construction inspections of architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and related elements during construction or alteration of judicial branch buildings and facilities. Incumbents may direct the work of contracted staff, and/or may serve as specialists who work independently and deal with complex and/or sensitive projects relating to detailed technical inspections of construction materials, methods, and work quality, and monitor construction work for compliance with plans, specifications, and regulations. In this capacity, Construction Inspectors ensure compliance with applicable codes, rules, and regulations, provide technical direction in assigned area of expertise, and serve as a point of contact for both internal clients and external regulatory agencies. City of Sunnyvale is recruiting a Facility Attendant II to provide essential facility support for Library and Recreation facilities, e.g. Lakewood Branch Library, Community Center (Recreation, Senior Center and Theater). This position independently prepares and maintains facilities, performs light maintenance, monitors use, and ensures a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for staff and the public. The Facility Attendant II also serves as on-site contact during evenings and weekends, assisting customers and part-time or contract staff. POSITION
To perform a variety of semi-skilled and skilled tasks in the maintenance of City-owned buildings, equipment and facilities.  The purpose of this recruitment is to fill a current vacancy in the Public Works Department, as well as establish an eligibility list for future vacancies.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Maintain and repair City facilities, equipment, and building by performing a variety of semi-skilled and skilled carpentry, electrical, painting, plumbing, heating, air conditioning and mechanical repair work.  Inspect building facilities to identify building maintenance and custodial needs; research and recommend effective solutions to maintenance and repair needs of the City.  Inspect, determine, and perform preventive maintenance and minor repairs on assigned facilities and equipment.  Assign routine and special tasks to subordinates; coordinates the work of contractors and other assigned staff with other City employees and contractors.  Work cooperatively with others.  Regular and consistent attendance. 

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS
Operate a variety of equipment including power saws, power sanders, drills, paint sprayers, plumbing snakes and rodders, routers and grinders.  Operate, maintain and repair a variety of mechanical equipment such as generators, engines and sump pumps.  Determine quantity and types of supplies, materials, tools and equipment needed for maintenance programs and projects; arrange for purchase and procurement of same; assure that maintenance equipment and tools are kept in good working order.  Read and interpret sketches, diagrams, drawings and blueprints.  Assist in the research and implementation of department policies and procedures.  Maintain time, material and equipment use records.  Troubleshoot, maintain and repair the City’s lock system.  Perform work in emergency situations.  Perform related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education:  High School Diploma or equivalent.

Experience:  Two (2) years of experience performing duties comparable to those of a Facility Maintenance Worker II.

License and Certificate:  Required upon hire, possession of valid California Driver's License.  Building Operator Certification is desired.

About the Position:  The Facilities Maintenance Specialist is responsible for performing all aspects of facilities maintenance for Midpen’s Administrative Office, including building operations, vehicle fleet inspections, landscaped grounds, parking areas, and various physical systems such as HVAC, plumbing, painting, assembly, construction, electrical, data cabling, and security systems.  This unique position has a foundation in older residential property improvements in a rural setting, including spring systems, old style construction including log framing, historic farm building construction, multiple materials and additions to the buildings are all aspects and considerations for repairs and tenant improvements. This position is also responsible for non-routine repairs and improvements at Midpen’s field properties and performs preventative maintenance tasks, repairs, and minor improvement projects. Successful performance in this role requires broad  knowledge of facility maintenance trades and technical principles, as well as a professional background and the ability to effectively collaborate  with other Midpen departments. Work Environment:  This position is part of the  Facilities & Fleet Department and will be required to work onsite Monday through Friday on a 9/80 schedule.  Work will be performed at Midpen’s administrative office in Los Altos, field facilities, and also at residential properties located primarily in the field. May be required to work evenings, weekends, and holidays, be called back after hours and on weekends or respond to and perform work in emergency situations as required.  When conducting field assignments, work may include traversing rough, difficult terrain in inclement or hot weather with exposure to poison oak, wildlife and rodent inhabitants.  Duties will include building and facility work that will require climbing ladders and entering confined spaces.  Ideal candidates will be comfortable working in these types of conditions, as well as in an office environment. Positions in this classification must possess the ability to lift and carry materials and objects weighing up to 60 pounds and must possess the ability to push and pull objects weighing up to 100 pounds, with the use of proper equipment. Education and Experience: 

Any combination of training and experience that would provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the required qualifications would be: 

• Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth (12th) grade supplemented by college-level coursework in facilities management, construction project management or a related field or training in applicable trades, and
• Three (3) years of experience in construction, maintenance, and/or repair of buildings, structures and/or related facilities.

Completion of an apprenticeship program or the equivalent training in one or more of the construction trades is highly desirable.

Licenses & Certifications Required:   Possession of a valid California Driver’s License.

 Under policy direction from the City Council, the City Manager serves as the chief executive officer for the City; The City Manager plans, manages, organizes and directs the overall administrative activities and operations of the City, develops and implements budget and financial strategies for the City and provides complex administrative support to the City Council. DESCRIPTION 

The City of Thousand Oaks has an excellent opportunity for an Assistant Analyst within the Facilities Division of the Finance Department. This position supports the analytical, administrative, and operational functions of the Facilities Division, which oversees City Hall, the Civic Arts Plaza theaters, libraries, and other municipal facilities.

This role supports a range of analytical and operational responsibilities, including contract administration, procurement preparation, budgeting support, and data analysis. The Assistant Analyst applies analytical judgment to manage vendor contracts, prepare draft staff reports and RFP materials, and analyze operational information to support effective facilities operations.

The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, self-motivated, and able to exercise discretion and independent judgment while balancing multiple priorities.
 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES 

• Serve as a key administrative and analytical point of contact for the Facilities Division, ensuring accurate documentation, data integrity, and coordination across functions
• Conduct analytical research on vendors and suppliers, including cost comparisons, service levels, and performance metrics to support procurement decisions
• Monitor, evaluate, and analyze service contracts and agreements, ensuring compliance, performance accountability, and alignment with operational needs
• Assist with budget development, forecasting, tracking, and reconciliation by analyzing facilities-related operational and financial data
• Support contract and vendor management by tracking deliverables, evaluating vendor performance, and identifying opportunities for service and cost improvements

The Town Clerk is a key member of the Town’s Executive Team, responsible for a wide range of essential duties and responsibilities.  Responsibilities include preparation of agendas, noticing, posting, and recordation of public meetings and outcomes; preparation and coordination of meeting materials; and planning and managing elections consistent with the California Elections Code.

This classification oversees, directs, and participates in all activities of the Town Clerk Office, including short and long-term planning as well as development and administration of departmental policies, procedures, and services. This class provides assistance to the Town Council and Town Manager in a variety of administrative, coordinative, analytical, and liaison capacities. Successful performance of the work requires knowledge of public policy, municipal functions and activities, including the role of an elected Town Council, and the ability to develop, oversee, and implement projects and programs in a variety of areas. Responsibilities include coordinating the activities of the department with those of other departments and outside agencies and managing and overseeing the complex and varied functions of the department. The incumbent is accountable for accomplishing departmental planning and operational goals and objectives, and for furthering Town goals and objectives within general policy guidelines.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Assumes full management responsibility for all Town Clerk’s Office programs, services, and activities including records management, elections administration, Town Council support, licensing, and management/support services.  Manage the Council rules of procedure policy, as well as provide Council orientation and on-boarding process for incoming Councilmembers.

• Develops, directs, and coordinates the implementation of goals, objectives, policies, procedures, and work standards for the department; establishes, within agency policy, appropriate budget, service, and staffing levels.

• Manages and participates in the development and administration of the department’s budget; directs the forecast of additional funds needed for staffing, equipment, and supplies.

• Selects, trains, motivates, and directs department personnel; evaluates and reviews work for acceptability and conformance with department standards, including program and project priorities and performance evaluations.

• Works with employees to correct deficiencies; implements discipline and termination procedures; responds to staff questions and concerns.

• Coordinates and assists in the facilitation of the Town’s Ethics and Sexual Harassment Prevention training.

• Serves as the Clerk of the Town Council and Geological Hazard Abatement District; attends meetings and oversees the recording of all official proceedings; supervises the preparation of public notifications, agendas, minutes, and other documents; directs the publication, filing, indexing, and safekeeping of all proceedings of the Town Council. 

• Supports Town’s boards, commissions, and committees including development of enabling legislation, policies and procedures; recruitment, interview and appointment of members; management of member disclosure and training requirements; monitoring of term expirations, attendance and compliance with all applicable rules and regulations; processing resignations, removals, vacancies, and reappointments; and oversight department staff liaisons including providing resources, guidance, and training. 

• Administers the public hearing process for the Town Council; supervises the coordination of public hearing packets and public notices of hearings in accordance with various government code requirements and legal deadlines. 

• Oversees the operations of the Town-wide records management program, and records preservation and destruction; sets and ensures legal compliance retention schedules for Town records; develops and updates records retention policies and procedures; serves as the Town’s Public Records Act (PRA) administrator, including intake, tracking, coordination with departments, and timely response to public records requests, researches Town documents, historical information, and other information as needed; attests, indexes, and files all legislative actions. 

• Plans, manages, and conducts municipal elections and special elections; ensures compliance with the California Elections Code, Political Reform Act, and other government codes; provides candidate filing services, nomination assistance, and informational materials; maintains election documents for public inspection; oversees printing of sample ballot material; declares election results; administers and files oaths of office. 

• Serves as Filing Officer and Filing Official for the Political Reform Act; manages the Town’s disclosure requirements for designated employees, distributes forms and notifications; conducts required audits; advises and trains candidates, committees, and treasurers on filing requirements; determines and collects fines for late filing; ensures campaign contribution limits and other requirements are met; corresponds with the Fair Political Practices Commission (FPPC) as appropriate.  Coordinate and conduct training on FPPC regulations.  Manages the codification and maintenance of revisions to the Municipal Code; tracks ordinance adoption, effective dates, posting and publication requirements, and maintains historical ordinance records.

• Provides contracts and agreements administration to ensure documents are signed and recorded in a timely manner, including the receipt and filing of bid documents; supervises contract bid openings and performance bonds.

• Accepts and logs claims filed against the Town to record necessary information and forward for processing.

• Represents the Town Clerk Office to other Town departments, elected officials, and outside agencies; explains and interprets departmental programs, policies, and activities; negotiates and resolves significant and controversial issues. 

• Attends and participates in professional group meetings and committees; stays abreast of new trends and innovations in the field of municipal government. 

• Monitors changes in laws, regulations, and technology that may affect Town or departmental operations; implements policy and procedural changes as required. 

• Responds to difficult and sensitive public inquiries and concerns and assists with resolutions and alternative recommendations. 

• Ensures staff observe and comply with all Town and mandated safety rules, regulations, and protocols.

• May serve as a staff liaison to a designated committee, board, or commission within the Town. 

• Performs related duties as required.
