The Position:

The City of Santa Clara is seeking an experienced, energetic, and collaborative leader to serve as its next Senior Inspector supporting the daily operations of the Building Division. This critical role provides both technical expertise and supervisory leadership to ensure the City’s high standards for safety, service, and professionalism are consistently met.

The Senior Inspector is a supervisory-level classification responsible for performing the most complex building, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical inspections, while also providing guidance, coordination, and training for less experienced inspectors and support staff. Depending on expertise, incumbents may be assigned to one or more specialty areas, including Building, Electrical, Plumbing, Mechanical, Permit Center, or Code Enforcement. Experience in MEP plan review is highly desirable and may be used to fill one of the two openings. 

This position requires an individual who can operate as a subject-matter expert and exercise sound, independent judgment in daily operations. The role is distinguished from the Inspection Manager classification, which carries broader responsibility for division-wide planning, field operations, and strategic technology initiatives. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Education Requirements: 

Graduation from high school or possession of a GED.

Minimum Experience Requirements:

Five (5) years of increasingly responsible experience in building inspection with a city and/or county agency.

Desirable Qualifications

• Depending on position assignment, the required experience and certification may be required in a particular specialty such as building inspection, electrical inspection, or plumbing and mechanical inspection.
• MEP plan review experience.  
• Certified Access Specialist (CASp) certification.
• Minimum one (1) year of supervisory experience that includes supervising building inspectors.

Licenses/Certificates
 The following are required at time of appointment and for the duration of employment:

• A valid California Class C driver's license.
• Certification as a Building Inspector, Electrical Inspector, Plumbing Inspector, Mechanical Inspector, or Combination Inspector by the International Code Council (ICC) or International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials (IAPMO), or equivalent.

The Parks, Recreation & Community Services Manager – Senior Services is responsible for leading the operations, programs, services, and community engagement efforts that support Redwood City’s older adult population. This position oversees a broad range of senior services, including recreation programming, wellness initiatives, social services coordination, special events, facility operations, partnerships, and community outreach, while helping ensure the City’s brand new 45,000 square foot senior center continues to be a welcoming, active, inclusive, and responsive community space.

The Housing Authority of the City of Alameda (AHA) is seeking an exceptional, process-orientated professional to serve as the Director of Housing Programs to assist with planning, organizing, managing, and providing administrative direction and oversight for all functions and activities of the Housing Programs Department which administers the various assistance programs the AHA operates. This is a fast-paced agency that seeks to meet the mission through a high level of accountability and transparency.

AHA is particularly interested in applications from candidates with a strong track record in a Housing Choice voucher program management in a HUD or PHA position. Successful performance of the work requires excellent knowledge of public policy, housing policy and programs, Housing Authority functions and activities, and the ability to develop, oversee, and implement projects and programs. The Community Development Department consists of three divisions: Planning, Building, and Housing and Community Services. The Department guides the ongoing physical development of the community, which includes long range land use planning, review of new development proposals and construction to ensure that it conforms to the standards of the City and State and ensures the provision of affordable housing with the City of Santa Clara. The delivery of high-quality professional services, including the enhancement and streamlining of the development permit process, and forging partnerships to provide housing services to lower income members of the community, are primary objectives of the Department. The Department demands for quality communications continues to increase, especially as the list of high visibility development projects grows in Santa Clara. Under general direction, the Communications Coordinator coordinates and maintains content on the Department's website and intranet; implements and supports internal and external communication efforts; and coordinates social media and video communication activities. Incumbents may function as a supervisor, or an individual contributor, depending on the department or assignment.
