The Town of Los Gatos is seeking an exceptional, highly skilled Executive Assistant to provide advanced administrative, project, and analytical support to the Town Manager and Town Council. This is a key position within the Town Manager’s Office, serving as a professional ambassador of the organization and ensuring smooth daily operations at the highest levels of Town leadership. This position will report to the Town Manager or their designee.

THE POSITION

The Accounting Technician supports the City’s finance team by performing complex accounting tasks, preparing and reconciling financial data, assisting with the payroll and budget processes, and delivering responsive customer service.

IDEAL CANDIDATE

The ideal candidate for the Accounting Technician has a solid background in the municipal accounting process and regulatory compliance, can prepare clear and accurate financial reports, has some experience with payroll software, Excel, and payroll processing, and communicates effectively while working collaboratively and maintaining confidentiality when handling sensitive information.

The successful candidate will have experience supporting month-end, quarterly, and year-end accounting and reporting activities, and may assist with payroll-related filings, labor cost analysis, and audit support. This role requires knowledge of accounting principles, internal controls, financial reporting and office systems, applicable laws, and customer service practices, along with the ability to perform technical accounting tasks. The successful candidate will be able to analyze and interpret financial data, use specialized software, explain policies, provide responsive service, work effectively with diverse groups, and carry out duties safely and efficiently.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (including but not limited to)

• Perform a variety of highly technical accounting duties in support of an assigned area of accounting operations and other assigned duties.

• Prepare, compile, tabulate and maintain data, complex documents and highly technical financial, statistical and operational reports, statements and records; enter data calculate, reconcile; create or update records.

• Prepare summary sheets for use of supervisor or auditors in preparing comprehensive financial statements; prepare trial balances; prepare budget documents and perform related research; and, assist in budget administration and mid-cycle adjustments.

• Assist other accounting personnel with a variety of technical accounting duties in the preparation, maintenance and processing of accounting records and financial transactions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, purchasing or other related functions.
• Receive and screen telephone calls from other departments or the public; handle complaints; and, answer questions and provide information to the public using judgment as to those requiring priority attention.
• Perform special projects or studies; participate in committees or teams as assigned.
• Assist in calculating and processing payroll; determine tax deposits, benefit and other deductions and related adjustments; track accruals; and, process direct deposit.
• Ensure that work is handled on a priority basis, organized, and completed in a timely manner; check documents and records for accuracy, completeness and conformance to applicable policies, rules and regulations.
• Build and maintain positive working relationships with co-workers, other City employees and the public using principles of good customer service.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Any combination of experience and training that would provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying.  A typical way to obtain the required knowledge and abilities would be:

• Experience: Two years of increasingly responsible technical level experience in accounting or finance to demonstrate possession of the required knowledge and abilities. Experience performing fiscal record keeping or accounting work in a government finance environment is desirable. 
• Training: Equivalent to an Associate’s degree from an accredited college in business, accounting, finance or a related field.

The Position: 

This is a lead role for the City’s Key Customers and the key customer engagement team. This role is pivotal in maintaining and enhancing our business relationships with key customers, ensuring their needs are met with exceptional service and support.

 In this role, you will build and maintain strong relationships with senior leaders of major customer accounts while providing administrative and technical support. This position will require strong problem-solving and customer service skills to find and implement solutions. You will work with other departments to improve customer experiences and support, and you will create and share reports and presentations with senior management, highlighting important customer insights. This position will lead direction for assigned professional, technical, and clerical staff and perform work on the more difficult customer accounts as assigned.

Desirable Qualifications: 

Experience supervising assigned professional and other staff is desirable.

The Legal Division provides a wide array of legal services to support the entire Air District, including handling enforcement cases; advising on the California Environmental Quality Act, AB617 Community Emission Reduction Plans, contracts, grants, and finance matters; developing regulatory language; supporting the permitting program; reviewing records under the Public Records Act; and staying abreast of current legal developments in air quality throughout California and nationwide. San Juan Water District Seeks an Electrical Instrumentation Technician

The Electrical Instrumentation Technician is part of the Operations team, performing specialized and technical duties associated with the troubleshooting, maintenance, installation and repair of electrical gear, breakers, electronic equipment, and instrumentation controls associated with surface water treatment plant, pump stations, distributions system facilities, wholesale meters, and medium voltage solar site component. 

Duties Include: 

• Performing corrective and preventative maintenance on electrical switchgear, breakers, transformers, process control systems, flowmeters, transmitters, gauges and other instrumentation and control equipment.
• Performing skilled duties related to the troubleshooting, maintenance, repair, installation, and testing of instrumentation, Programmable Logic Controller’s (PLC’s), telemetry, electrical and electronic components and instruments used in treatment plants, distribution systems and solar fields. 
• Recognizing, identifying and correcting problems with control and instrumentation equipment.
• Planning, installing and maintaining sophisticated electrical, instrumentation, and control systems; developing and using diagnostic problem solving techniques.
• Inspecting, adjusting, installing, calibrating, and repairing electrical and electronic equipment such as Variable Frequency Drives (VFD’s), breakers, transformers, motors, transducers, motor control centers, switches, wiring, electronic circuits, meter transmitters, (Cl2) sensors, and related devices.
• Installing, maintaining, calibrating, and troubleshooting control systems and water quality instruments, analyzers and electrical systems as they relate to water treatment, distribution, and solar systems.
• Working collaboratively with engineering to maintain and modify drawings of District’s Electrical Systems, PLC’s and SCADA systems.
• Assisting in new project design, inspection, installation, and troubleshooting of electrical 
• Systems, including but not limited to, submittals, RFIs, change orders, site layout and planning of specific drawings.

To be considered, candidates should be knowledgeable of principles and practices of electrical theory and electrical circuits, practices and techniques used in the design, installation, testing, calibration, maintenance and repair of radio telemetry, cellular communication, 4160V solar field, electrical and electronic equipment, instrumentation and controls as they relate to water treatment and distribution systems. 

The qualifications include:

• Graduation from high school or equivalent with additional supplementary course work in electrical, electronics, instrumentation, control systems, or equivalent material pertaining to the field of electronics AND
• Three years of journey level experience in the design, construction, installation, modification, maintenance, and repair of electrical/electronic equipment, instrument systems, and control devices common to an industrial facility, water treatment plant, and distribution systems. 
• Possession of a valid California motor vehicle operator's class C license.

The salary range is $55.81 - $66.97, depending on qualifications. In addition, the District offers competitive benefits which include District contribution to CalPERS retirement, medical (100% of premium for most offered plans), dental and vision for employee and dependents; District paid life insurance; 12 paid days of sick leave; 12 paid holidays; and paid vacation depending on length of service. THE POSITION:

DEFINITION

Assists in the planning, coordination, implementation, and evaluation of programs, events, and services in a designated area of Recreation Arts and Community Services. Provides highly organized and responsible administrative and programmatic support to the Program Coordinator, including assistance with internal programs, volunteer coordination, and preparation of the quarterly activity guide, etc. Recommends and coordinates the purchase of program supplies and equipment. ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES

Essential duties are inclusive of, but not limited to, the following:

• Assist in the planning, coordination, implementation, and evaluation of innovative programs, events, and services for older adults.
• Provide administrative and programmatic support to the Program Coordinator and Supervisor, including internal events, volunteer programs, and special initiatives such as Buzz Sessions.

QUALIFICATIONS

Applicant must be at least 18 years old.  Receive satisfactory results from a background investigation and fingerprinting. Provide written proof of a negative TB test before the appointment.

• Recreational programs, developmentally appropriate group activities, and applicable health and safety regulations.
• Record keeping practices and procedures; office practices, procedures, and equipment.

Ability to:

Graduation from high school or equivalent is required, with college-level coursework completed in Recreation, Human Development, Education, or a related field preferred. 

Experience:

Background in municipal parks and recreation and/or Adult and Senior Services is desirable.  Supervision of part-time and/or volunteer personnel is highly desirable. Customer service experience required. 

LICENSE(S) AND CERTIFICATION(S)

Possession of a valid California State Driver's License, or a license in another state with the ability to obtain a California license within 30 days of hire.  First Aid and CPR/AED certification is required but may be obtained during the first 90 days of employment.
