The Associate Planner supports the Town’s planning and development functions by reviewing and analyzing a variety of land use and development applications to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. This position provides technical assistance and guidance to property owners, developers, and the public on zoning, design review, environmental assessment, and related planning matters. The Associate Planner also prepares staff reports, presents recommendations to the Planning Commission and Town Council, and contributes to long-term planning initiatives that promote thoughtful, sustainable development consistent with San Anselmo’s General Plan.

The Bolinas Fire Protection District is a combination paid/volunteer fire department providing services in emergency medical care, fire protection, disaster response, fire prevention and community education. Bolinas is a unique coastal community with approximately 1,500 year-round residents. Thousands of visitors are also attracted to our beaches and surrounding National Parks year-round. The District employs a full-time Chief, full-time Administrative Manager, and three full-time Firefighters. We also rely on the support of a dedicated group of approximately 20 volunteer firefighters and EMT’s. The department responds to approximately 300 emergency and public assistance calls annually, with approximately 80% medical aid calls.

DUTIES:

• Report to the Bolinas Fire Chief
• Perform scene command and personnel supervision during incidents
• Perform fire apparatus engineer and firefighting duties
• Perform fire prevention activities and public education
• Assist in leading volunteer trainings and support the volunteer firefighting program
• Provide BLS emergency medical care
• Drive and operate fire apparatus and related equipment
• Maintain fire station, grounds and related equipment & apparatus

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• At least 18 years of age
• In possession of a high school diploma or a General Equivalency Diploma (GED)
• Have good vision in both eyes, with the ability to distinguish Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA) color codes for hazardous materials and have no depth or peripheral impairment
• Possession of Firefighter 1 (FF1) certification from an accredited organization
• Possession of California Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certification
• Possession of (or ability to obtain within 3 months) a California Driver’s License (Class C w/ FF endorsement or Commercial Class B) with a driving record in good standing
• Possession of a current Candidate Physical Ability Test (CPAT)
• Pass a standard pre-employment background check
• Desire to advance by acquiring new skills and responsibilities

The City of Wheatland is looking for an experienced City Clerk. The Clerk is the Elections Official, Legislative Administrator, Records Manager, Website Administrator and performs related duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Wheatland, with a population of approximately 4000 people, is one of only two incorporated cities

The Wheatland Police Department is responsible for providing public safety for the city. Services provided by the Police department include uniformed patrol, investigative services, traffic enforcement and administration. Dispatch services are provided under a contract with the Yuba County Sheriff. The Police Department is staffed with 11.5 FTE positions, of which 9 are authorized sworn positions. ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT

The Marinwood Fire Department operates as a single station all-risk Advanced Life Support (ALS) engine company that includes nine (9) professional firefighters trained in areas of firefighting, ALS/BLS emergency response, technical rescue, disaster response, fire prevention, and community preparedness.  The department works closely with the City of San Rafael Fire Department under an existing Shared Services Agreement.  This includes San Rafael Fire Department providing all chief officer services, ambulance services, and joint training programs.  Our mission is to partner with our community to proactively reduce risk from fire, illness, injury and other hazards.

To perform responsible clerical work and administrative duties involved with billing and collection of business registrations; the maintenance and review of licensing and permitting records; the entry of data processing; and/or assisting in the review and input of building permit applications, cannabis permits, and mobile food vendor permits.  The purpose of this recruitment is to fill a temporary/part-time position to work in the Building Division of the Community Development Department.   

IDEAL CANDIDATE

The Ideal Candidate is customer focused, able to communicate well both orally and in writing, and can prioritize multiple tasks with little direction. The Ideal Candidate must have basic Microsoft Office Suite proficiency, as well as the ability to quickly learn public sector software platforms that encompass multiple modules including cashiering, business licensing, and permitting. Fluency in the Spanish language is highly desirable.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Prepare and process business registrations.  Collect payments over the counter and through the mail.  Balance cash drawer and reconcile end of day receipts.  Set-up and maintain customers on a computer system.  Prepare or assist in the preparation of a variety of statistical reports as assigned.  Input purchase requisitions into computer system.  Enter and verify invoices for payment. Respond to routine permitting inquiries and provide customer service to the public at the permit counter, and/or via telephone, email, or fax.  Research and communicate the status of permits for applicants. Work with Building Inspectors and/or Code Compliance Officers to schedule inspections and pull related permits.  Process various transactions involving business registrations, cashiering and permitting.  Assist customers over the counter with respect to new business registrations and renewals, general building permit issues, and over the counter plan submittals.  Generate reports as needed utilizing the computerized program related to permitting and/or licensing.  Provide information and direction to the public related to community development, planning, building, engineering, code enforcement and permit processes via phone, e-mail and counter work.  Respond to citizen complaints and/or inquiries, referring more complex issues to higher level of authority as appropriate.  Review and check records, forms, and other documents for accuracy, completeness and conformance to rules and regulations.  Update forms and informational materials as needed.  Maintain files, both paper and computerized.  Regular, predictable, consistent and timely attendance is an essential function of the position.  Other duties as assigned.

POSITION

A primary function of this position is janitorial services. Will include set up and cleanup of special events. Prepare simple activity and related reports; maintain inventory and work records as required. Perform other facility maintenance duties as assigned. Work cooperatively with others. Regular and consistent attendance.

QUALIFICATIONS
Facility Maintenance Worker I

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
Experience: Six (6) months of work experience in carpentry, electrical and maintenance work is desirable.

$23.07 - $29.45 per hour

Intern:                                                            
$17.00 - $21.00 per hour

WORK HOURS
Position works approximately 16-20 hours per week in the afternoons and evenings, and will require some weekend hours.

The position will be filled at either the Water Distribution Operator I or Water Distribution Operator II classification, dependent upon candidate qualifications. The salary ranges for each classification are as follows:

• Water Distribution Operator I: $34.83 – $47.02 hourly
• Water Distribution Operator II: $38.30 – $51.72 hourly

This salary range is anticipated to be adjusted by 3% in January 2026, pending the CHWD Board of Directors’ approval for the proposed Cost-of-Living Adjustment (COLA).

WORK SCHEDULE AND BENEFITS:
The District observes a 4/10 work schedule, Monday-Thursday, 10-hour days. The regular work schedule for the Water Distribution Operator I/II position is 6:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Water Distribution Operators also perform Standby Duty on a rotating basis. Standby Duty begins at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday and shall end at 5:00 p.m. on the following Tuesday.

POSITION DESCRIPTION, DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS, AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Water Distribution Operators are directly involved in the installation, maintenance, and repair of valves, mains, services, and related potable water distribution system facilities and equipment. Performs related work as required.

Water Distribution Operator I - This is the entry-level class in the Water Distribution Operator series. Positions in this class typically have little or no directly related work experience and work under immediate supervision while learning job tasks. The Water Distribution Operator I class is distinguished from the II level by the performance of less than the full range of duties assigned to the II level. Incumbents work under immediate supervision while learning job tasks, progressing to general supervision as procedures and processes of the assigned area of responsibility are learned.

Experience:

• One year of responsible experience similar to a Water Distribution Worker with the District

License and Certificate:

• California Class C Driver’s License
• Possession of, or ability to obtain, a Grade D1 Water Distribution Operator certificate from the State of California Water Resources Control Board within one year of hire.

Water Distribution Operator II - This is the journey-level class in the Water Distribution Operator series and is distinguished from the I level by the assignment of the full range of duties. Employees at this level receive only occasional instruction or assistance as new, unusual, or unique situations arise and are fully aware of the operating procedures and policies within the work unit. Positions in this class are flexibly staffed and are normally filled by advancement from the I level once the incumbent meets the qualification standards of the II level, demonstrates an ability to perform the full scope of the work, and meets performance standards.
