The Administrative Assistant performs a variety of complex office administrative, secretarial, and clerical duties in support of an assigned Department Director, including coordinating, organizing, and overseeing the administrative operations and functions of the assigned office. The selected candidate coordinates assigned programs, projects, and services with other City departments, divisions, and outside agencies. In addition to coordinating tasks for the assigned area of responsibility, interacting frequently with the public and providing information or directing questions and requests to the appropriate staff, and performing other duties as required.

DEFINITION: Under general supervision, performs a variety of preventative maintenance, repairs, and installation of water pollution control plant, sewage pumping facilities, and equipment; maintains accurate maintenance records; orders and maintains an inventory of supplies, parts, and other frequently used items; and performs related duties as assigned.

DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS

Treatment Plant Maintenance Worker I is distinguished from Treatment Plant Maintenance Worker II in that the Treatment Plant Maintenance Worker II level requires a higher level of certification and is able to perform a broader range of duties more independently.

Receives general supervision from supervisory or management staff in assigned department.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The duties listed below are illustrative only and are not meant to be a full and exhaustive listing of all of the duties and responsibilities of the position.

• Maintains and repairs pumps, motors, plumbing, electrical, and exercise and lubricate machinery within the plant; records and maintains accurate maintenance records in a daily log book;
• Orders supplies and materials; orders inventory of frequently used parts, oil, and filters for equipment used in the plant;
• Completes monthly work orders and enters information regarding maintenance tasks into the system; records SCADA; records hours on equipment and meters; makes entries into the end of the month report and prints work order summary;
• Generates new maintenance work orders for each month; prioritizes tasks to be performed on Water Pollution Control Plant equipment;
• Performs cleanup of the plant, removing trash, washing down decks, and clearing leaves and branches from storm drains; cleans tools and makes sure equipment is in proper locations and power tools are in safe working condition;
• Changes oil and filters on various pumps and compressors in the plant; maintains safety inspections of fire extinguishers, eye wash stations, and ladders in the plant;
• Removes and replaces packing from various pumps in the plant; installs new rings of packing with new Lantern rings if damaged; applies grease to the new set of packing for proper lubrication; removes corrosion or debris from packing gland before reinstalling;
• Evaluates pump performance and flow rate to determine if pump has excessive buildup of rags that is affecting its performance and efficiency; shuts down pumps to remove rags from impeller and clears any obstructions;
• Replaces damaged parts/fittings on leaking chemical feed pumps; makes alterations to existing supply tubing or fittings, replacing clamps or O-rings, or removing debris caught in the check valves; inspects, tests, calibrates, adjusts, cleans, and paints equipment in the water pollution control plant; and
• Performs related duties as assigned.

JOB-RELATED QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge of: Principles, practices, and techniques of the installation, maintenance, and repair of water treatment plan systems; operation of various hand and power tools; proper procedures to safely perform maintenance on machinery and equipment in the plant; maintenance for MP2 program; recording and updating repair history on water pollution control plant equipment; how to create new work orders and close out completed work orders; forklift operations and scissor lift; replacing, repairing, and installing piping, fittings, and valves on water pollution control equipment; data entry of important, vital information regarding maintenance repairs; performance and evaluation on future preventative maintenance in the WPCP MP2 program; proper protective equipment.

Ability to: Drive and operate vehicles and equipment safely; keep inventory, order, and stock necessary parts and supplies for the maintenance shop; establish and maintain cooperative relationships with those contacted in the course of the work; adhere to prescribed policies, procedures, routines, and practices; carry out assignments with minimal instructions; read and understand written instructions, maps, equipment operation manuals, and other written documents associated with the work; effectively schedule work; effectively keep written records.

EDUCATION AND TRAINING GUIDELINES

Any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities. A typical way would be:

Education: High school diploma or equivalent (GED). Technical training in a water treatment plant system or related field is desirable.

Experience: One (1) year of full-time experience in the installation, maintenance, and repair of pollution control plant and sewage pumping facilities.

Licenses: Possession of a valid California Class C driver's license, obtain and maintain a California Class B Driver’s License, and a satisfactory driving record. CWEA Certification as a Grade I Mechanical Technologist.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

Respond to work at any hour of the day or night, within designated timeframe, as required during afterhours, weekend service, and/or emergency situations; carry communication equipment in order to respond after work hours. Vision, hearing, and physical ability adequate to obtain and maintain a California Class B Driver’s License; speak clearly and understandably. Requires moderate and sometimes strenuous exertion including bending, stooping, crouching, crawling, climbing, lifting, twisting, digging, carrying, and/or handling material weighing up to one hundred (100) pounds. THE POSITION: 

The Executive Administrative Assistant reports directly to the City Manager and/or their designee. This position performs a variety of administrative tasks in support of the Office of the City Manager, as well as the City Council.

Foster City is looking for a fast learner with some planning or building experience to fill the position of Building Permit Technician. Selection Process
Applications will be reviewed for relevant education, experience, training and other job related qualifications. Based upon a review of employment applications received, a limited number of qualified applicants will be invited to participate in the examination process. 

The process will consist of an Oral Panel Interview. An eligibility list will be established from those who pass the examination process with a score of 70% or higher. Current and future vacancies may be filled from this list. The list will remain in effect for at least one year unless exhausted sooner. 

The department will invite the most qualified candidates from the eligibility list to a final department interview. The Community Development Department will make the hiring decision.

THE POSITION

The main role for this position of Cybersecurity Analyst I/II will focus on Cybersecurity. The candidate that fills the role will assist in defining enterprise cybersecurity policies, standards, guidelines, and procedures to ensure a robust and current cybersecurity program. They will also be responsible to monitor and analyze cybersecurity incident-related data and determine the appropriate response.

DEFINITION

Cybersecurity Analyst I: Under general supervision, provides professional level work, including the design, implementation, evaluation, and daily management of security systems and solutions; and performs duties related to threat detection and prevention, education, risk assessment, compliance, governance, business recovery, forensics, and incident response. This position requires a strong understanding of cybersecurity concepts, as well as the ability to work in a dynamic, public service-oriented environment. Other duties would include but not limited to assisting Network Administrators with items relating to the Network Administrator position.

Cybersecurity Analyst II: Under limited supervision, provides advanced level work, including the design, implementation, evaluation, and daily management of security systems and solutions; and performs duties related to threat detection and prevention, education, risk assessment, compliance, governance, business recovery, forensics, and incident response. This position requires a strong understanding of cybersecurity concepts, as well as the ability to work in a dynamic, public service-oriented environment. Other duties would include but not limited to aiding other Network Administrators with items relating to the Network Administrator position. Positions in this class require frequent use of a high degree of independent judgment and interpretative ability.

Positions in the Cybersecurity Analyst II classification are flexibly staffed and normally filled from advancement from the Cybersecurity Analyst I class, or when filled from the outside, require specific cybersecurity technology experience. Appointment to this class requires the employee to be performing substantially the full range of Cybersecurity Analyst II duties and to meet the qualifications for the class. The class requires the ability to work independently exercising judgment and initiative and a greater knowledge of the City’s security systems and solutions.

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES

Architects, implements, monitors, maintains, and troubleshoots various security systems that protect the City’s networks, IT/OT systems (including SCADA), applications and critical infrastructure; designs, organizes, modifies, installs, secures and supports security infrastructure; and provides technical support for network and security issues associated with enterprise applications; analyzes both raw and processed security alerts, logs and event data to identify potential security incidents, threats, mitigations, and vulnerabilities. Architects, implements, maintains, and troubleshoots the City’s business continuity plan and emergency response plan as it relates to redundant, secure infrastructure. Investigates, analyzes, produces reports, and remediates security incidents that occur on City systems and applications, both on-premises as well as in the cloud; confirms viable backups, test, maintains and monitors both on-premises and within the cloud; works closely with other government agencies, law enforcement, and external cybersecurity vendors to stay updated on emerging threats and response strategies.  Performs other duties as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge of:  Network security, threat detection, and incident response; common cyberattack methods such as phishing, ransomware, and malware; security tools like firewalls, intrusion detection systems (IDS), and encryption technologies; government regulations, data protection laws, and compliance frameworks (e.g., PCI-DSS, CJIS, NIST, NERC CIP, ISO 27000, etc.) is essential, as is the ability disaster recovery planning and maintaining cybersecurity policies tailored to local government infrastructure is critical for ensuring the safety of sensitive public data and services.

Ability to:  quickly respond to and mitigate cyber threats; analyze vulnerabilities specific to public sector environments. collaborate with internal teams and educating non-technical staff about security best practices; manage multiple tasks and prioritize threats is essential, as well as a keen attention to detail when conducting audits or reviewing security logs; adapt to evolving cyber threats and continuously update knowledge of emerging technologies and attack methods; think critically under pressure, especially during security breaches or system outages. interact positively and cooperate with co-workers, respond politely to customers, work as a team member, function under demanding time pressure, respond in a positive manner to supervision, and attend work and perform duties on a regular and consistent basis.

Experience:

Cybersecurity Analyst I: A minimum of 2-3 years of experience in cybersecurity or information security roles, preferably within government or public sector organizations.

Cybersecurity Analyst II: A minimum of 5 years of experience in cybersecurity or information security roles, preferably within government or public sector organizations.

Education:

Cybersecurity Analyst I: High school graduation or equivalent. Graduation from college or university with emphasis in computer science, information technology, or related field, and current certification (CCNA, MCSE, CCSA, CCSE, CEH, Security+) is desirable.

The City of Millbrae has exciting opportunities for multiple, temporary Public Works Maintenance Workers for various Divisions including Streets, Facilities, and Parks. • Performs and responds to emergency calls including repair and installation of sewers, streets, water and storm drain lines and services; maintains the required response time in order to answer emergency, after hour and weekend calls for service.
• Cleans and maintains buildings and facilities, gutters, park pathways, floors, windows, and restrooms in parks and Civic Center complex, park equipment, streets, sidewalks, tools and equipment, parks medians, and other landscaped areas.
• Performs basic carpentry, cement work, oxyacetylene cutting and burning, and painting.
• Performs the handling and/or application of hazardous materials, fertilizers, herbicides, and other chemicals in accordance with applicable regulations and instructions.
• Maintains records of daily activities, purchase receipts, and inventories including reading meters and test samples.
• Treats all members of the public respectfully, courteously, and as a customer.
• Completes special projects as assigned; assists other departments as assigned.
• Maintains City easements and rights-of-way to be free of weeds and debris; performs upkeep of trees and vegetation.

Minimum Qualifications:

Maintenance Worker I

Education:  High School Diploma or equivalent GED.

Experience:   One year full-time in semiskilled construction maintenance or landscape maintenance work.

License:  Must possess and maintain a valid Class C California Driver's License with a satisfactory driving record and within six (6) months of hire, must possess and maintain a Class B California Driver’s License with required air brake endorsements.  Those assigned to the Water Division within one (1) year must possess and maintain a Class D-2 Water Distribution Certificate from the California Department of Health Services.  Those assigned to the Collection Division, within one year must possess and maintain a California Water Environment Associations (CWEA) Grade I Collections Certificate.

Physical Requirements:

THE POSITION 

The City of South San Francisco seeks customer service-oriented individuals to join the Community Resource Team at the new Library | Parks and Recreation Center. This position is shared between the Library Department and Parks and Recreation Department and works under the direction of the Community Resource Analyst. The Community Resource Clerk will typically be stationed at the lobby desks on the first and second floors of the new Library | Parks and Recreation Center at 901 Civic Campus Way in South San Francisco, however, may temporarily be assigned to other sites, or to represent the departments at special events. This position will provide a welcoming presence by greeting members of the public and responding to visitor inquiries to assist with wayfinding in the facility and sharing information about activities in the building as well as city and other local community resources.

• Performs typical service desk duties including but not limited to patron registration and account management, checking in/out materials, utilization of self-check equipment, assisting patrons with fines and fees, payments and placing reserves, and answering patron questions and requests.
• Maintain the posting of current promotional materials, such as flyers, brochures, guides, and other printed materials.
• Assists in coordinating the scheduling of classes, activities, meetings, events, and rentals in the facility.
• Assists patrons in using and locating library materials and equipment; explains library services, rules, and procedures.
• Works cooperatively with staff, parents, children, and other public and private sector employees and volunteers; coordinates with appropriate agencies to ensure that necessary services are provided to clients.
• Provides customer service in person, by telephone, and electronically.
• Performs general housekeeping duties related to the organization of materials and equipment in the common areas of the facility.

QUALIFICATIONS: Any combination of experience and training that would provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities would be qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge, skills, and abilities would be:

Experience: Minimum of 18 years of age. One year of paid or unpaid work experience involving customer service.

Training:  Equivalent to graduation from high school.

Licenses/Certificates: All licenses and certificates must be maintained as a condition of employment.

About The Position

We are seeking highly motivated, highly skilled, innovative and enthusiastic individuals to join the Recreation and Human Services Division with the City of Half Moon Bay.  As a critical member of this team you’ll be responsible for assisting in organizing and conducting a variety of recreation programs and activities.

You will report to the Recreation Supervisor and work alongside the Recreation Leader and other Building Attendants.  You will have the opportunity to work in a beautiful community and a tremendous opportunity to build and expand on the organizational and community success that has transformed the City over the past several years.   

What You Will Do

• Open, secure and close City facilities.
• Arrange chairs, tables and other equipment for events held at City facilities.
• Arrange audio system and room set-up for City Council, Planning Commission and Recreation Committee meetings.
• Monitor activities during the facility rentals and other facility usage including monitoring the time of access and departure of the group, monitoring set up and clean up quality provided by the group to ensure that department standards are met. Inspect facilities after usage ends. 
• Accept and file facility rental paperwork and drop in fees. 
• Provide customer service in person or by phone by orienting users, answering questions and resolving problems.
• Enforce department rules including facility rental policies.
• Communicate with the community in both English and Spanish (preferred).
• Work evenings and weekends as needed. 
• Perform related duties as assigned.

What You Bring

Sufficient education and experience to satisfactorily perform the duties of this classification. Knowing that any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities would be qualifying. Such as:

Building Attendant I: Possession of a High School Diploma, or equivalent, and no experience working in a recreation setting.  Experience working in a recreation setting can substitute for the diploma or equivalent.

Building Attendant II: Possession of a High School Diploma, or equivalent; and two (2) year’s paid or unpaid work experience, or two (2) years of experience equivalent to the level of Building Attendant I.

Building Attendant III:  Possession of a High School Diploma, or equivalent; and four (4) year’s paid or unpaid work experience, or four (4) years of recreation leadership experience equivalent to the level of Building Attendant I.

• Basic mathematical functions.
• Equipment, facilities, operations and techniques used in a comprehensive community recreation program.

Working Conditions

This position requires prolonged sitting, standing, walking, reaching, twisting, turning, kneeling, bending, squatting and stooping in the performance of daily activities.  The position also requires grasping, repetitive hand movement and fine coordination in preparing statistical reports and data using a computer keyboard.  Additionally, the position requires near vision in reading correspondence, statistical data and using a computer, and acute hearing is required when providing phone service and communicating in person.

Working as part of the court executive team, the Court Director of Finance (Director of Finance) will exercise managerial authority over the financial operations, oversee the budget, and look for ways to enhance the revenue of the Superior Court of California in San Mateo County.  In addition, the Director of Finance will develop, recommend, and implement departmental budgetary goals, policies, and objectives and will develop and implement dual (programmatic and cost center) budgetary, monitoring, and fiscal reporting systems to coordinate with the State budgetary and fiscal reporting systems.

• Monitor and analyze State and local legislation affecting court operations and develop responsive fiscal strategies.
• Direct and evaluate staff responsible for fiscal and accounting functions, including training, motivation, and performance management.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in accounting, auditing, economics, business, or public administration or a related discipline. A graduate degree in one of the above disciplines is preferred.
• Experience: Five years of increasingly responsible experience performing a wide variety of fiscal resource management in a public agency, at least two years of which were in an administrative or management capacity. Experience in a California Court setting is preferred.

Knowledge of:

• Legislation, policies, and procedures related to budgeting and financial reporting for the California Superior Courts, including public agency fund accounting and third-party reimbursement and claims payment practices.
• Fiscal resource administration, including planning, budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, auditing, and related practices.
