THE POSITION OF BUSINESS MANAGER

The City of East Palo Alto is seeking an organized, detail-oriented, welcoming full-time 1-year limited-term Housing Specialist I-II. The Housing Specialist I/II performs a variety of technical and administrative duties in support of the City’s affordable housing, rent stabilization, and anti-displacement programs. The position supports the development, implementation, and monitoring of housing policies, programs, and projects. The selected candidate will provide information and assistance to residents, property owners, tenants, landlords, and developers, and support the City’s efforts to increase, preserve, and manage affordable housing, and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal housing regulations.

The Department

The South San Francisco Public Library is a full-service library committed to delivering quality services to a diverse community.  Library services are available at three sites, including the Main Library (901 Civic Campus Way), the Grand Avenue Library (306 Walnut Avenue) and the Gene Mullin Community Learning Center (520 Tamarack Lane).  Lifelong literacy services are provided by Project Read at the Main Library and the Gene Mullin Community Learning Center (GMCLC). 

The Position

This position manages core library literacy services over several program areas that include one-on-one adult tutoring, ESL, Computer and Citizenship instruction and programs, family literacy outreach and activities including our early literacy outreach van, afterschool homework program for a local Title I school, and literacy programs that cross many interest areas such as computer literacy, civic literacy, financial literacy.  Library literacy services are based out of the SSF Main Library and the Gene Mullin Community Learning Center and are embedded in general library services, supporting community members in their reading, learning, civic engagement and personal literacy goals.

ABOUT THE CITY:

The City of Half Moon Bay is a Bay Area coastal community of approximately 12,500 residents and is located 25 miles south of San Francisco. The City is governed by a five-member elected City Council and utilizes the council-manager form of government. Description

The incumbent provides high-level public information, community outreach, and multi-media services that require in-depth knowledge of public sector communications, multi-media, script writing and editing, website and graphic design and experience in managing and implementing creative and innovative promotions and projects.

Under general direction, the Communications Program Manager coordinates the citywide public communications activities and maintains content on the City's website and intranet; implements and supports internal and external communications efforts; and coordinates social media and video communications activities.  Incumbents may function as a supervisor of as-needed employees, or an individual contributor, depending on the department or assignment.

• Attend a variety of staff, Council, commission, and other related meetings.
• Provide advice and support to City staff regarding public and media relations.

• Participate in the planning and implementation of special events.
