This key leadership role plays a vital part in shaping the heart of our community.  This position is will be is is responsible for planning, organizing, implementing, and supervising a wide range of Public Works Operations — including the operation and maintenance of parks, public buildings, streets, streetscapes, storm drains, and municipal garage facilities.

This is a mid-management classification with broad responsibility for overseeing Public Works Operations. The Superintendent is entrusted with a variety of complex, high-level managerial and supervisory duties and receives administrative direction from the Public Works Director. The role also involves both direct and indirect supervision of Public Works Operations personnel.

The Customer Care Coordinator develops and implements strategies related to customer care, customer communications, and program support as it relates to Pioneer’s customers; provides support to customers regarding billing analysis and other customer-related issues; and supports communications and marketing efforts in ways that are consistent with Pioneer’s Strategic Plan.  Duties include:

• Receiving, researching, and responding to customer questions and concerns; reviewing, researching and responding to questions related to billing and programs available to customers.
• Preparing and providing detailed solar analysis and educating customers regarding Net Energy Metering, Solar Billing Plan, and other related billing rates/plans.
• Providing information to customers as it relates to energy efficiency.
• Processing and tracking customer opt outs, opt ups and re-enrollments.
• Ensuring customer contact center has updated and accurate talking points and information related to messaging and advertising campaigns.
• Attending and staffing booths at community events and interacting and educating customers regarding Pioneer’s services and programs.
• Providing billing related support including the maintenance and security of customer data, coordinating with PG&E on a variety of matters including customer service, data provisions, outages, infrastructure issues, and usage reports.
• Supporting call center by responding to escalated customer service matters and preparing/editing customer service scripts.
• Preparing and presenting a variety of reports and communications that include supporting statistical data; making presentations to member agencies, outside organizations and the public.
• Some of the primary responsibilities include answering phones, chats, and emails.

Fire Prevention/Administration Office Assistant

THE POSITION

To perform a variety of semi-skilled and skilled tasks in the construction, maintenance, and repair of streets, sidewalks, signs, water meters, sewers, storm drains, pump stations and tree maintenance. 

The purpose of this recruitment is to hire a Temporary / Part-Time position.  Applicants who do not meet the minimum qualifications for the Maintenance Worker I position may be considered for employment as an Intern.  Temporary / Part-Time employees work no more than 130 hours per month AND 960 hours per fiscal year. Typical work schedule will be three 8-hour shifts per week, excluding weekends and evenings.

IDEAL CANDIDATE

The Ideal Candidate for this position should have previous Road Maintenance experience; sidewalks, driveways, roads, curbs, and gutters, although not required. The Ideal Candidate will be able to follow directions, demonstrate good communication skills (orally and in writing), be flexible, arrive on time, have good attendance, a positive attitude, be able to work independently with limited supervision, and a willingness to take on and learn new skills. Possessing a Class B commercial Driver’s license is desired, though not required upon hire.  

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Operate a variety of light and moderately heavy construction and maintenance equipment including such pieces as a loader, dump truck, water truck, rubber-tired and steel rollers, rubber-tired tractor with all attachments (except backhoe attachment), striping equipment, and trencher to perform a variety of routine construction and maintenance operations.  Spread asphalt in patching and repairing streets.  Use concrete cutting equipment; operate a jackhammer; pour and finish concrete; construct concrete forms and perform rough carpentry work.  Paint and install traffic markings on streets, crosswalks, parking lots, and curbs; operate a striping truck; manufacture and install traffic signs and remove signs no longer required.  Install and remove traffic control barricades and cones.  Assist in a variety of tree maintenance activities including low limb, stump routing, tree watering, and tree planting.  Utilize proper safety precautions and comply with policies and procedures in the Department Illness and Injury Prevention Program.  Operate equipment and vehicles with possession of all necessary licenses and certificates.  Regular and consistent attendance.

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS

Respond to inquiries from the general public.  Clean storm grates and drains.  Perform work in emergency situations as required.  Perform minor and preventive maintenance on paint spraying equipment, compressors, sprayers, compactors, and other construction equipment.  Work cooperatively with others.  Perform related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education: High School diploma or equivalent.  

Experience: One (1) year of work experience in construction or related field.  

License or Certificate: Possession of a valid California Driver's License required upon hire.

Woodside Fire Protection District has an exciting opportunity to join our Fire Prevention Department.

Under the supervision of the Fire Marshal or their designee, the Wildfire Defensible Space Inspector (Per Diem/Part- Time) supports wildfire prevention efforts across the District. This position is seasonal and ideal for those interested in public service, environmental safety, or fire prevention.
