POLICE DEPARTMENT

The Wheatland Police Department is responsible for providing public safety for the city. Services provided by the Police department include uniformed patrol, investigative services, traffic enforcement and administration. Dispatch services are provided under a contract with the Yuba County Sheriff. The Police Department is staffed with 11.5 FTE positions, of which 9 are authorized sworn positions. The authorized department staffing includes 1 Police Chief, 1 Sergeant, 6 Officers, 3 part-time Reserves and 2 non-sworn positions.

ABOUT THE POSITION
Under general supervision from the Police Sergeant, to perform a variety of duties in law enforcement and crime prevention programs; to maintain order and a safe environment for the citizens of Wheatland; to participate in criminal investigations and crime prevention programs; and to provide a variety of duties relative to assigned areas of responsibility.

TOWN MANAGER - TOWN OF LOOMIS

The Town Council of the Town of Loomis, California (population 6,800) is seeking an energetic and engaging individual with a commitment to public service to become its new Town Manager. The Town Manager directs, coordinates, and manages the overall administrative   activities and operations of the Town and advises and assists the Town Council while exercising significant independent judgment and initiative. In this smaller-sized entity, the Town Manager will need to be comfortable with a hands-on and collaborative approach to day-to-day  management. This will include providing strong leadership and frequent interaction with the small team (Finance, Community Development, Engineering and Public Works), fostering a    collaborative, open dialogue, and teamwork. The Town Council also seeks a Town Manager who enjoys working in the public sector and appreciates the variety and diversity of contributions from all sources within the organization, as well as from this active and engaged community.

This position requires a Bachelor's degree and progressively responsible experience in an administrative, managerial, or senior level staff capacity in a comparable organization with  similar issues. California municipal experience, particularly in a rural setting, is highly regarded by the Town Council, although all highly qualified candidates are strongly encouraged to apply. An advanced degree may be a plus based on overall career experience.

The Town Council is prepared to offer a competitive salary for the region as well as benefits, including CalPERS Retirement. A mutually agreeable employment agreement will be negotiated.

POSITION 
To perform a variety of tasks in the maintenance of City-owned buildings, equipment and facilities.  The purpose of this recruitment is to fill a current temporary/part-time vacancy in our Community Services Department and to create a list for future vacancies.

Candidates who do not currently meet the minimum qualifications for the Facilities Maintenance Worker I position may be considered for an Intern position instead.

Temporary employees work no more than 130 hours per month AND 960 hours per fiscal year.

IDEAL CANDIDATE

The Ideal Candidate for this position will have previous facility maintenance experience, although not required. The Ideal Candidate will be able to follow directions, demonstrate good communication skills (orally and in writing), be flexible, have good attendance, a positive attitude and a willingness to take on new tasks as requested.  The ability to speak and understand Spanish is a desirable quality.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

A primary function of this position is janitorial services. Will include set up and cleanup of special events. Prepare simple activity and related reports; maintain inventory and work records as required. Perform other facility maintenance duties as assigned. Work cooperatively with others. Regular and consistent attendance.

QUALIFICATIONS
Facility Maintenance Worker I

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
Experience: Six (6) months of work experience in carpentry, electrical and maintenance work is desirable.

SALARY
Facility Maintenance Worker I:                 
$23.07 - $29.45 per hour

Intern:                                                            
$17.00 - $21.00 per hour

WORK HOURS
Position works approximately 16-20 hours per week in the afternoons and evenings, and will require some weekend hours.

Under direct supervision, the Police Academy Recruit attends a basic Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) certified training academy to obtain the basic skills and fitness level necessary for the performance of Police Officer duties.  This position requires a thorough background investigation, psychological assessment, and a medical exam prior to appointment. This is the non-sworn, entry-level classification in the Police Officer series. Incumbents in this classification receive training in a controlled classroom environment.  Advancement to the sworn Police Officer position is based on meeting minimum qualification standards and satisfactory performance in the academy.

To perform responsible clerical work and administrative duties involved with billing and collection of business registrations; the maintenance and review of licensing and permitting records; the entry of data processing; and/or assisting in the review and input of building permit applications, cannabis permits, and mobile food vendor permits.  The purpose of this recruitment is to fill a temporary/part-time position to work in the Building Division of the Community Development Department.   

IDEAL CANDIDATE

The Ideal Candidate is customer focused, able to communicate well both orally and in writing, and can prioritize multiple tasks with little direction. The Ideal Candidate must have basic Microsoft Office Suite proficiency, as well as the ability to quickly learn public sector software platforms that encompass multiple modules including cashiering, business licensing, and permitting. Fluency in the Spanish language is highly desirable.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Prepare and process business registrations.  Collect payments over the counter and through the mail.  Balance cash drawer and reconcile end of day receipts.  Set-up and maintain customers on a computer system.  Prepare or assist in the preparation of a variety of statistical reports as assigned.  Input purchase requisitions into computer system.  Enter and verify invoices for payment. Respond to routine permitting inquiries and provide customer service to the public at the permit counter, and/or via telephone, email, or fax.  Research and communicate the status of permits for applicants. Work with Building Inspectors and/or Code Compliance Officers to schedule inspections and pull related permits.  Process various transactions involving business registrations, cashiering and permitting.  Assist customers over the counter with respect to new business registrations and renewals, general building permit issues, and over the counter plan submittals.  Generate reports as needed utilizing the computerized program related to permitting and/or licensing.  Provide information and direction to the public related to community development, planning, building, engineering, code enforcement and permit processes via phone, e-mail and counter work.  Respond to citizen complaints and/or inquiries, referring more complex issues to higher level of authority as appropriate.  Review and check records, forms, and other documents for accuracy, completeness and conformance to rules and regulations.  Update forms and informational materials as needed.  Maintain files, both paper and computerized.  Regular, predictable, consistent and timely attendance is an essential function of the position.  Other duties as assigned.

The Marysville Police Department is recruiting for the position of Public Safety Dispatcher. 

We are seeking energetic and outstanding individuals to join our team.  Ideal candidates are committed to working with their community in total partnership as we work together to improve the quality of life for everyone who works, lives and plays in our city. Public Safety Dispatchers are tasked with dispatching first responders including police, fire and medical services.

SRFECC is preparing for a Dispatcher Academy, beginning September 2025! As a Dispatcher I, you will be a key player in the public safety network, managing both emergency and non-emergency calls. Your role involves receiving critical information, dispatching appropriate Fire and Emergency Medical Services (EMS) resources, providing live-saving instructions, relaying facts, and ensuring effective communication throughout the incident. This is an entry-level position ideal for individuals with no prior public safety dispatching experience. Advancement to Dispatcher II is expected within two years, and offers greater responsibility and higher pay.

This position requires the ability to work well under pressure, demonstrate exceptional communication skills, and think quickly during emergency situations. Shift work is required, and you must be available for nights, weekends, and holidays.

The City of Dixon is recruiting to fill a full-time position of a Maintenance Worker I/II in the Public Works Streets Division and to establish an Eligibility List for future use. 

Essential Job Functions When Assigned to Streets: Performs semi-skilled and skilled repair and maintenance tasks involving traffic painting, traffic sign installation and maintenance and the installation of reflectors; performs minor street asphalting, patching and sealing; performs cement work on sidewalks, curbs and gutters; performs weed spraying, tree and bush trimming; performs graffiti removal. Positions operate backhoe for preparing grades and trenching and operate other equipment including, but not limited to, paint sprayer and striper, tractor, scraper, rototiller, chain saw, weed eater, mower, air compressor, paving machine, sand blaster, and emulsion sprayer.

Maintenance Worker I: This is the entry level class in the Maintenance Worker series and positions in this class typically have little or no directly related work experience.

Maintenance Worker II: This is the journey level class in the Maintenance Worker series and is distinguished from the I level by the assignment of the full range of duties.
