The City of Dixon is looking to fill one full-time, regular position of Accountant in the Finance Department. THE POSITION
To perform a variety of tasks in the maintenance of City-owned buildings, equipment and facilities.

The purpose of this recruitment is to hire a Temporary / Part-Time position. Applicants who do not meet the minimum qualifications for the Facility Maintenance Worker I position may be considered for employment as an Intern. This position will perform semi-skilled tasks in a variety of light construction and maintenance activities. The Ideal Candidate will be customer-friendly and be a solutions-oriented professional who is flexible in dealing with shifting priorities, have good time management skills, and possess the ability to work effectively in the absence of supervision.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Maintain and repair City buildings, equipment and facilities by performing a variety of semiskilled carpentry, plumbing,  painting, heating/air conditioning, mechanical repair and electrical work as necessary. Inspect City buildings to locate conditions indicating the need for repairs and maintenance; assist in establishing and implementing preventative maintenance programs. Operate and maintain a variety of heavy tools and equipment, including small power and hand tools. Work cooperatively with others. Regular and consistent attendance.

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS
Remodel and repair a variety of building components such as counters, tables, desks, bookshelves, cabinets, partitions, walls, windows and doors; boilers, water pumps, exhaust fans, compressors, and other water and sewage system plumbing as required. The City of Auburn is hiring for the seasonal, part-time Bus Driver I position in the Auburn Transit Department.

Auburn Transit is looking for qualified individuals to join our transit team. These positions are seasonal, part-time and each has a maximum of 999 hours of work per fiscal year. The incumbent's schedule will be flexible, based on the needs of the department, community transit needs and employee availability.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

This position operates a variety of transit and General Public Paratransit (GPPV) vehicles to transport passengers in a safe, courteous and reliable manner. The incumbent will learn all transit laws, operating procedures and policies. 

Auburn Transit provides fixed and on-demand transportation services to the community. In addition to designated bus routes, Auburn Transit works with other local transit agencies to ensure adequate services are provided for school needs and special events. DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS

The Bus Driver I is an entry-level classification responsible for routine tasks and operation of specific transit vehicles. It is essential incumbents learn all transit laws, operating procedures and policies. The role is performed under direct supervision from the Transportation Supervisor or designee and does not involve supervision over other staff.

REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES

The following duties are typical for this classification. Actual work may vary based on department needs or change due to evolving business practices.

• Operates a bus or other General Public Paratransit (GPPV) vehicles on City streets and highways in all weather conditions to transport passengers on established routes with designated stops, on-demand rideshare services, field trips and special events.
• Ensures passenger safety by observing passenger behavior, verifying safety belts are secured and rendering aid to passengers in an emergency.
• Assists passengers boarding and deboarding as needed or requested, including senior citizens, individuals with disabilities and care-dependent persons.
• Operates a smart device and two-radio to respond to transit dispatch and on-demand rideshare requests requiring adjustments to existing schedules and routes.
• Operates automatic wheelchair lifts, collects fares, issues passes, secures wheelchairs and other assistive devices.
• Promptly notifies management and completes reports regarding accidents and incidents involving vehicles and passengers.
• Conducts mandatory daily pre-trip vehicle inspections adhering to state and city regulations before each route, including reporting inspection results, daily trip logs, and required vehicle repairs and maintenance.
• Performs minor maintenance, repair and cleaning of transit vehicles and fleet storage facility.
• Adheres to all public transit federal, state and local laws, rules and regulations.
• Maintains a valid California driver’s license and passenger certifications required by the state vehicle code, Department of Motor Vehicles, Department of Transportation and other applicable standards.
• Performs related duties as assigned.
