The After School Instructor will plan, prepare, and instruct recreation activities (Instructor Aides will assist). Activities may include art, cooking, dance, STEM activities and other program areas. Programs are designed for children ages 4-12 years of age (school grades Transitional Kindergarten to 6th). Job site placement: Brier, Cabrillo, or Grimmer Elementary.

The Newark Recreation and Community Services Department is looking for Lifeguards for our fantastic swim lessons and aquatic programs at the Silliman Activity & Family Aquatic Center. We are looking for positive, patient, motivated, self-driven individuals that have a passion for working with children and wish to make a difference! Please note that this position requires you to work in an indoor aquatic environment subject to warm/humid temperatures.

THE POSITION:
To be considered for this position, candidates must submit a 1) City of Santa Clara Employment Application and 2) Proof of completion of a Basic Peace Officer Academy certified by the California Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) OR proof of completion of Level 1 Reserve Peace Officer POST Regular Basic Course (Reserve Police Officers Only). Incomplete applications will not be accepted.
A Program Specialist will plan, prepare and instruct recreation activities. Activities may include art, cooking, dance, pre-school program and other program areas. Programs are designed for children ages 4-17 (primarily 5-12) years of age.
Art programs may include drawing, painting, pastels, ceramics, crafts, sculpture, photography, weaving, printing, calligraphy, quilting, anime/manga, cartooning, clowning, and theater.
Cooking programs may include instruction on safety, using proper equipment and supplies and creativity.

The City of Sunnyvale invites applications for the Public Safety Officer - In Training. The position of Public Safety Officer-In Training is a non-sworn, training classification while incumbents are attending the police and fire academies. Upon successful completion of the police academy, incumbents will be promoted to the sworn, training position of Public Safety Officer I. Upon successful completion of all required training, incumbents will be promoted to the sworn position of Public Safety Officer II.
The Swim Lesson Instructor is responsible for instructing, supervising, and testing all swim lesson participants to the best of his/her ability. The Swim Lesson Instructor is expected to work mornings, evenings and weekends on a regular basis. Instructors are not required to have any teaching certifications, but are expected to teach the standard set in place by the City of Fremont.
