The City Attorney’s Office is excited to offer an opportunity to join the office as either a Deputy City Attorney or Assistant City Attorney, depending on the experience and qualifications of the selected candidate. The Deputy or Assistant City Attorney will join a capable, dedicated, and collaborative team of legal professionals supporting the City’s legal needs in a dynamic municipal environment. Attorneys with labor and employment experience will provide legal support to the Human Resources Department, while candidates without direct experience in this area may assume this responsibility over time based on demonstrated aptitude, interest, and commitment to developing expertise. Additional responsibilities may include public contracting, governance, and regulatory matters. Attorneys collaborate closely with internal clients, and as needed, outside counsel to deliver practical, solutions oriented legal advice in support of City priorities.

Key responsibilities include:

• Conferring with department heads and City staff regarding legal issues and making appropriate recommendations

• Researching legal issues and preparing opinions, ordinances, resolutions, contracts, leases, permits, and other legal documents, depending on assignment

• Monitoring proposed legislation and court decisions affecting municipal operations

POSITION
To perform a variety of semi-skilled and skilled tasks in the maintenance of City-owned buildings, equipment and facilities.  The purpose of this recruitment is to fill a current vacancy in the Public Works Department, as well as establish an eligibility list for future vacancies.

IDEAL CANDIDATE
The Ideal Candidate will be able to troubleshoot a wide variety of building systems and think outside the box to find solutions that get the problem fixed right the first time.  The candidate must be customer-friendly and be a solutions-oriented professional who is flexible in dealing with shifting priorities.   Successful candidate will also be able to respond to after-hours emergencies on short notice and demonstrate the ability to work independently.  Project management, plumbing, and HVAC skills are highly desirable. 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Maintain and repair City facilities, equipment, and building by performing a variety of semi-skilled and skilled carpentry, electrical, painting, plumbing, heating, air conditioning and mechanical repair work.  Inspect building facilities to identify building maintenance and custodial needs; research and recommend effective solutions to maintenance and repair needs of the City.  Inspect, determine, and perform preventive maintenance and minor repairs on assigned facilities and equipment.  Assign routine and special tasks to subordinates; coordinates the work of contractors and other assigned staff with other City employees and contractors.  Work cooperatively with others.  Regular and consistent attendance. 

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS
Operate a variety of equipment including power saws, power sanders, drills, paint sprayers, plumbing snakes and rodders, routers and grinders.  Operate, maintain and repair a variety of mechanical equipment such as generators, engines and sump pumps.  Determine quantity and types of supplies, materials, tools and equipment needed for maintenance programs and projects; arrange for purchase and procurement of same; assure that maintenance equipment and tools are kept in good working order.  Read and interpret sketches, diagrams, drawings and blueprints.  Assist in the research and implementation of department policies and procedures.  Maintain time, material and equipment use records.  Troubleshoot, maintain and repair the City’s lock system.  Perform work in emergency situations.  Perform related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education:  High School Diploma or equivalent.

Experience:  Two (2) years of experience performing duties comparable to those of a Facility Maintenance Worker II.

License and Certificate:  Required upon hire, possession of valid California Driver's License.  Building Operator Certification is desired.

The Department: 

The City of Santa Clara is looking to fill multiple As-Needed- Temporary Employee positions to support the Annual Cleanup Campaign. Successful incumbents will be assigned to work as ground crews shoving, sweeping, and lifting up to 50lbs of debris left by Santa Clara residents.

The Position: 

In this temporary employment opportunity, you will gain valuable experience working with the public and demonstrate teamwork amongst your peers as you become part of a dedicated crew.

A mandatory paid orientation is tentatively scheduled for April, 2026, where employees will receive training, safety boots, and the necessary equipment to perform the job. This position will work from 6:45am-4:15pm, 40-45 hours a week, Monday-Friday between April 27, 2026 - May 22, 2026. 

As an as-needed employee, this is an "at-will" position and there is no guarantee of hours. Hours are limited to 999 in a fiscal year or 960 hours in a fiscal year for retired CalPERS annuitants.

THE POSITION

Tri-City is looking for an individual to serve as a Clinical Therapist I/II for the Adult Full-Service Partnership (FSP). The Clinical Therapist I/II will appeal to individuals who are inspired by challenges and opportunities presented in working with an engaged and active community with moderate to severe behavioral health clients. The Clinical Therapist will report to a Clinical Supervisor.   

This position is responsible for a variety of ongoing responsibilities including, but not limited to:

• Provides individual, group, and family interventions, rehabilitation, and treatment services including counseling, therapy, case management, and referral and linkage to community services to a variety of clients including high-acuity clients.
   
• Within the scope of authority, assesses, diagnoses, and treats a variety of clients with mental health disorders; collaborates with clients and creates individualized treatments plans according to client’s needs and circumstances.
   
• Initiates and conducts individual, group, and family counseling and biopsychosocial therapy sessions utilizing a variety of techniques and modalities; provides case management services in the office and in the field.
   
• Performs routine and emergency intake evaluations according to Authority procedure; completes appropriate forms and documents relating to the intake process; and prepares medical and demographic case history for use in diagnosis.
   
• Assists clients and family members in understanding behavioral health diagnosis, contributing factors/causes, effects, prognosis, rehabilitation, and treatment.
   
• Works with clients to address stressors and barriers to treatment and/or social functioning; identifies and focuses on client strengths and personal resources to effectively engage and treat client.

THE POSITION:

The Firefighter is responsible for combating fires, providing medical response and care for the sick or injured, protecting life and property, and operating and maintaining firefighting equipment and fire stations. The Firefighter will actively participate in fire prevention, code enforcement, public education, and training programs.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:

The ideal firefighter candidate is a professional, community-oriented individual who demonstrates integrity, accountability, and respect in all interactions. A strong commitment to teamwork, public service, and continuous improvement is essential. Experience, Education, and Training:

• Lateral Firefighter EMTs and Lateral Firefighter Paramedics must have at least three (3) years of paid, full-time experience as a Firefighter with a public agency or special district (employed within the last twelve (12) months)

• Possession of a California State Fire Training Firefighter I certificate

• High school diploma or equivalent

Required Licenses and Certifications:

• Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid California class C driver's license

• Must possess a valid National Registry or California-accredited EMT certification at time of

• Must possess a valid National Registry or California-accredited Paramedic certification at time of application (San Mateo County accreditation required prior to completion of probation)

Knowledge of:

The Position: 

Under direct supervision, the Assistant Electric Utility Engineer performs a variety of entry-level professional electric utility engineering field and office work in Electric system planning, electric system design, construction and/or maintenance programs.  SVP invites applications from dynamic and innovative qualified candidates for an entry level engineering position. About the Position:  The Facilities Maintenance Specialist is responsible for performing all aspects of facilities maintenance for Midpen’s Administrative Office, including building operations, vehicle fleet inspections, landscaped grounds, parking areas, and various physical systems such as HVAC, plumbing, painting, assembly, construction, electrical, data cabling, and security systems.  This unique position has a foundation in older residential property improvements in a rural setting, including spring systems, old style construction including log framing, historic farm building construction, multiple materials and additions to the buildings are all aspects and considerations for repairs and tenant improvements. This position is also responsible for non-routine repairs and improvements at Midpen’s field properties and performs preventative maintenance tasks, repairs, and minor improvement projects. Successful performance in this role requires broad  knowledge of facility maintenance trades and technical principles, as well as a professional background and the ability to effectively collaborate  with other Midpen departments. Work Environment:  This position is part of the  Facilities & Fleet Department and will be required to work onsite Monday through Friday on a 9/80 schedule.  Work will be performed at Midpen’s administrative office in Los Altos, field facilities, and also at residential properties located primarily in the field. SUMMARY DESCRIPTION

Under immediate supervision (Wastewater Operator I) or general supervision (Wastewater Operator II), performs a variety of skilled and semi-skilled tasks in the maintenance and operation of the City's sanitary sewer system and wastewater treatment plant.

DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS

Wastewater Operator I - This is the entry level class in the Wastewater Operator series. This class is distinguished from the Wastewater Operator II by the performance of the more routine tasks and duties assigned to positions within this series. Employees at this level are not expected to perform with the same independence of direction and judgment on matters related to established procedures and guidelines as are positions allocated to the II level. Since this class is typically used as a training class, employees may have only limited or no directly related work experience. Employees work under immediate supervision while learning job tasks.

Wastewater Operator II - This is the full journey level class within the Wastewater Operator series. This class is distinguished from the Wastewater Operator I by the assignment of the full range of duties assigned. Employees at this level receive only occasional instruction or assistance as new or unusual situations arise and they are fully aware of the operating procedures and policies within the work unit. Positions in this class are flexibly staffed and are normally filled by advancement from the I level.

REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES

The following duties are typical for this classification. Incumbents may not perform all of the listed duties and/or may be required to perform additional or different duties from those set forth below to address business needs and changing business practices.

1. Operate and adjust controls on treatment plant equipment and machinery, such as valves, pumps and motors.

2. Grease and clean plant equipment; read and interpret meters and gauges; regulate plant effluent.

3. Monitor, repair, and maintain wastewater system lift stations; remove debris; disassemble and clean pumps; perform minor repairs when necessary.

4. Respond to emergency calls as needed; locate problems and operate sewer cleaning equipment to clear stoppages. 

5. Collect samples and perform various lab tests.

6. Inspect and make repairs to plant equipment.

7. Perform general plant maintenance work such as sweeping, cleaning, sanding and painting of equipment and facilities.

8. Assist in operating video inspection system.

9. Perform general grounds maintenance work.

10. Rod sanitary sewers; install and repair sanitary sewer laterals and trunk lines.

11. Enter and work in permitted confined spaces and underground trenches.

12. Locate, mark and notify sewer lines per USA (underground service alert) requirements.

13. Observe and enforce safety precautions. 

14. May temporarily be assigned to work with other City departments as needed.

15. Operate trucks, tractors and other motorized equipment of comparable size and complexity.

16. Perform related duties as required.
