The Position: 

SVP is seeking Journey Line workers that have the ability to perform routine and emergency work maintaining and expanding SVP’s electric transmission and distribution system, including but not limited to: 
- Perform electrical installation and repair work and to construct and maintain overhead and underground electric distribution and transmission system; 
- Think and act appropriately and quickly in emergencies; 
- Maintain good public relations; 
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with others; 
- Work from electrical plans and detailed drawings; 
- Input data using computer programs for documenting electric facility maintenance and inspection findings; 
- Effectively train and supervise others; 
- Understand and follow oral and written instructions; 
- Establish and maintain cooperative working relationship with those contacted in the course of work, including the general public; 
- Walk or stand for extended periods of time and bend, stoop, reach, carry, crawl, climb, and lift as necessary to perform assigned duties;

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

LICENSE & CERTIFICATION

- Possession of a valid California Class C license at the time of appointment and the ability to obtain a California Class A license within six months of employment

- Incumbents in this position are required to become rubber glove certified as a condition of holding the classification of Journey Lineworker within nine (9) months of appointment.

We are seeking two clinic managers who will operate under the general direction of the Deputy Director of Ambulatory Care. The clinic managers plan, coordinate, direct, manage, supervise and evaluate the full range of programs and services offered at the community-based health clinics; recommend, develop, implement and evaluate goals, objectives, policies and procedures related to clinics; provide leadership and coordination to community groups, public and private agencies, advisory boards and volunteers in planning and implementing clinic services; and provide highly complex staff support to senior-level management. The clinic managers also lead and participate in complex performance improvement activities; develop systems to track the progress of strategic initiatives, departmental operational goals, and communicate progress in key forums; develop productive relationships with labor partners while navigating operational needs and developing and sustaining effective employee engagement processes. The clinic managers exercise direct and indirect supervision over a diversified clinical and support staff team.

The ideal candidates will have working knowledge of clinic operations, particularly in outpatient clinics that offer primary care, adolescent care, and pediatrics, as well as in budgeting and scheduling. The ideal candidates will also be experienced in change management, improving patient satisfaction scores, and continuous process improvement (Lean). Experience in a public/safety net clinic is highly desirable. The ideal candidates will also have the ability to lead complex performance activities.

Examples Of Duties

Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Plan, direct, monitor, coordinate and evaluate the operations and service delivery programs of a regional health clinic or clinics, including needs assessment, program design and planning, implementation, evaluation, and regulatory enforcement.

• Direct, coordinate, and participate in the development and implementation of program goals, objectives, policies, procedures, and priorities that balance both mandated services and community health care needs.

• Assess the quality of patient care; develop and generate community support for changes or enhancements to service delivery methods; advocate for patients with medical staff to ensure appropriate care is provided.

• Monitor census/patient flow and project future patient care demands; develop staffing schedules and assignments to provide the necessary level and type of care.

• Develop, present, and advocate for clinic funding; administer and monitor the approved budget to ensure the accomplishment of clinic care objectives within budget restrictions.

• Act as liaison between senior-level management, advisory boards and commissions, regulatory bodies, and program staff to ensure that all appropriate policies and guidelines are followed, and that programs are funded with adequate resources to maintain mandated and expected levels of service.

• Maintain an effective working relationship with a variety of public and private organizations, including other Health Services Agency staff, County departments, and agencies.

• Consult with other program managers on relevant program issues; develop alternative strategies for dealing with community health needs and assist in the implementation of solutions as necessary.

• Act as advocate and spokesperson in the community in support of programs and services; interpret, explain, and direct the enforcement of community health-related standards, codes, and regulations.

• Provide highly complex staff assistance to senior-level management and related commissions and advisory boards on program issues.

• Prepare a wide variety of detailed written reports, policies, procedures, and contracts.

• Perform related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education and Experience: Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to qualify is:

• Three years of administrative or managerial experience in a healthcare delivery, social, or community services organization, including significant responsibility for one or more of the following: program and budget development, program service delivery, funding, utilization, coordination of community resources, or program evaluation.

The Foster City Police Department is seeking a dedicated and highly skilled individual to join our team as an Police Dispatcher. This position receives police and emergency calls and dispatches police units following prescribed procedures; answers non-emergency calls for public safety and other City departments; performs a variety of general administrative support duties including record keeping, typing, and filing; and performs related work as required.

Education and Experience:
Any combination of training and experience that would provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the required qualifications would be:  

Education: Possess a high school diploma or a G.E.D. 

Experience: One (1) year of work experience involving public contact which involved using good judgment, tact, and effective written and/or verbal communication skills.

It is desirable, but not a requirement, that the applicant for this position have the ability to type no less than 40 net words per minute. The typing certificate must but be certified and dated within the last 12 months of application.

License or Certificate: 

• Verification of successful completion of the POST Entry-Level Dispatcher Selection Test Battery Examination with a minimum passing “T-score” of 50 or higher within the last 12 months.

Selection Process
Applications will be reviewed for relevant education, experience, training and other job related qualifications. Based upon a review of employment applications received, a limited number of the qualified applicants will be invited to participate in the examination process. 

The process will consist of an Oral Panel Interview. An eligibility list will be established from those who pass the examination process with a score of 70% or higher. Current and future vacancies may be filled from this list. The list will remain in effect for at least one year unless exhausted sooner.

San Mateo County Health- San Mateo Medical Center seeks well-qualified candidates for the position of Program Coordinator I in the Patient Access Division. The current vacancy is a full-time, limited term vacancy. The duration of the assignment will last about 6 months.

 

Under the direction of the Patient Access Manager, the Program Coordinator will provide support to over 150 Patient Services Assistants across various departments, including Emergency, Admitting, Long-Term Care, Same-Day Surgery, and will average 27 Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) sites with 8-16 hours of weekly program refresher training on several publicly sponsored coverage options.

 

Additionally, this position will assist the team with several EPIC post-go-live projects, and work queues as we work to revamp processes and enhance collaboration for improved workflows and revenue-generating process efficiencies.

This is a limited term, at-will position.  Limited Term Employees are assigned to assignments not to exceed three years. They receive medical and dental benefits, similar to regular employees, and a defined contribution retirement plan. 

 

Examples Of Duties

Duties of the position include, but are not limited to:

• Coordinates efforts between departments, clinics, and Ancillary Services to ensure timely release of claims.
• Serves as a liaison between the Patient Financial Department and Resource Management.
• Facilitate regularly scheduled and special meetings – prepare and distribute agendas and minutes from meetings.
• Maintain program billing and compliance records related to authorizations for Inpatient and Outpatient services.
• Prepare reports as needed for Patient Financial services, Resource Management, and Department of Health Services (DHCS).
• Manage and support activity related to the authorization and denial process.
• Educate and train team members regarding authorization requirements and denial mitigation.
• Perform related duties as assigned.

Education and Experience: Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities is qualifying.  A typical way to qualify is:

Program Coordinator I: Bachelor's degree in public or business administration, management or a related field and two years of professional level analytical and administrative experience in a community-related setting.

THE POSITION:

The City of Hayward is excited to announce an opportunity to join its progressive and dynamic Transportation Division as an Associate Transportation Engineer. Reporting to the Deputy Director of Public Works, the Associate Transportation Engineer will manage the delivery of transportation projects to provide a safer and more sustainable transportation system in the City. These innovative and safety-focused projects will help advance the City’s Vision Zero and Climate Action Plan goals. Typical projects involve multi-modal roadway design, traffic calming, traffic engineering analysis, and intelligent transportation systems.

 

You are:

The ideal candidate will possess a Professional Engineer’s (PE) license with a strong education and technical background in transportation and traffic engineering. The candidate will have strong project management skills and excel in a collaborative working environment, working effectively to manage projects from inception to completion. The candidate will represent the City in a professional manner with community members and regional stakeholders.

 

 

Essential Duties

What you will do: 
In addition to the qualifications for Assistant Transportation Engineer and depending on assignments:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES (could include but not limited to):

• Plan, direct, review and participate in professional and technical work of a functional group of  the Engineering & Transportation Division with principal assignments involving traffic  circulation design, traffic safety studies, geometric design of streets and interchanges, and  traffic operation studies.
• Direct, assist, and participate in traffic analysis, circulation design, and design transportation engineering projects, such as traffic signals, signs, and markings, channelizations, street lighting and parking facilities.
• Provide consulting services and advice to City departments, divisions, and other groups on matters related to transportation engineering.
• Answer inquiries, investigate complaints, and provide information to the general public.
• Meet with individuals and groups as necessary.
• Investigate, analyze, and prepare reports including those for the City Engineer on claims against the City related to transportation matters.
• Testify in court on claims against the City related to transportation issues.
• Act as Project Manager on both City and consultant-designed transportation related projects.
• Prepare applications for State and Federal grant funding.
• Select consultants for consideration for City projects; write and process requests for proposals and consultant agreements and contracts.
• Make recommendations on street lighting design and wattage.
• Manage City traffic calming (speed hump) program.
• Make recommendations on Engineering and Transportation responses to requests from Neighborhood Focus Process.

• Street lighting layout and design.
• Major elements of transportation design and traffic operations.
• Supervisory and public relations principles and practices.
• Federal, State, City regulations of traffic operations and traffic control devices.

• Effectively complete assignments with minimal supervision and meet project deadlines.
• Plan and direct the work of other personnel.
• Prepare clear and concise reports.
• Communicate effectively.
• Maintain effective working relationships with employees, contractors, engineers, and the public.

Minimum Qualifications

You have: 
Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying.  A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:

Experience: Three (3) years of engineering experience in transportation with one (1) year of the experience being after acquiring the Professional Engineering License. 

Education: Equivalent to a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in transportation engineering or closely related field. 

License: Possession of a valid Class C California Driver's license at time of appointment. Possession of a certificate of registration as a Civil Engineer, Electrical Engineer, or Traffic Engineer in the State of California.  

OTHER REQUIREMENTS 
Essential duties require the following physical abilities and work environment: ability to sit, stand, walk, kneel, squat, climb and lift up to 30 pounds and to work outdoors or in a confined workspace.
