After School Program Technician I's work in the formal Suisun City classification of Recreation Specialist II. Starting hourly rate will depend on qualifications. This position works on average 19-29 hours per week.

The Position: Under general supervision, this position involves organizing, leading, and coordinating a variety of indoor and outdoor recreational and educational activities for an Afterschool Program. This role is classified as Temporary Part-Time to support both seasonal and year-round recreational programs.

Representative Duties:
• Assisting with planning, delivering, and leading program activities as needed.
• Interacting and leading participants in arts, crafts, games, and sports.
• Supporting the planning and implementation of specialized activities, instructor plans, programs, and events.
• Assisting with curriculum development and planning weekly schedules.
• Checking in participants.
• Scheduling, coordinating, and chaperoning field trips.
• Organizing, teaching, guiding, and directing activities for youth.
• Additional duties as requested.

ABOUT THE POSITION
The City is recruiting for a full-time Housing and Community Services Manager (HCSM) to advance and strengthen the City’s efforts in affordable housing production and preservation, homelessness response, tenant protections, and coordination of supportive services for vulnerable community members. Since the creation of the Housing and Community Services Division, it has become a key part of the City’s strategy to address city-wide housing challenges. This leadership position offers a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact on housing accessibility, homelessness response, and community well-being in Gilroy. 

Under the general direction of the Community Development Director, the HCSM will plan, direct, and oversee the operations and programs of the Housing and Community Services Division and provide leadership and oversight of the development and administration of housing programs and grant-funded initiatives that support long-term housing affordability and stability for residents, including unhoused and at-risk populations. Working collaboratively with public agencies, nonprofit organizations, regional partners, and community stakeholders, the HCSM will help implement innovative housing solutions and advance strategic initiatives aligned with City goals and community priorities.

This position is an exempt, mid-management level position that must exercise competent discretion and judgement in the performance of duties and interactions with others. This position will be included with the Gilroy Management Association employee group.

The City of Berkeley invites you to apply for the position of Community Services Aide in the Health, Housing & Community Services Department. This position assists community center staff in various areas, such as receiving, handling, and delivering catered meals to specific sites or homebound residents. Additionally, the role involves assisting with program activities and facility rentals to provide ongoing service to community members and program participants.

This position is temporary, non-benefited and not-to-exceed 19 hours per week.
 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

A typical way of gaining the knowledge, skills, and abilities for this position is:
Equivalent to completion of high school and twelve (12) months of experience in meal preparation, delivery services, or working with adults of varied ethnic and cultural backgrounds.

Other requirements include:
Must be able to travel to various locations within and outside the City of Berkeley to meet the program needs and to fulfill the job responsibilities. When driving on City business, maintenance of a valid California driver's license and satisfactory driving record is required. Must report changes in status of drivers license.

Additional steps (Step F, Step G, and Step H) included in the salary range listed above are available to employees in this job classification after completion of five years of service (Step F), ten years of service (Step G), and 15 years of service (Step H), and one year at the prior step, and good performance evaluation. Initial salary placement is typically at the entry point of the range unless the candidate has prior Code Enforcement Officer experience which may warrant initial placement at a higher step.

This is a full-time, on-site position, designed for direct collaboration with the team and active participation in daily operations.

This position works varied hours/shifts/days of the week to meet the code enforcement needs of the agency. The regular work schedule may include varied days of the week, including weekends, and work hours (days/swings to 2 a.m.) and overtime availability is required often in the evenings (to include late night hours such as 2 a.m.) or on the weekends for targeted enforcement.

It is also imperative that the Code Enforcement Officer maintain accurate case files and documentation for possible legal proceedings.

The Parks, Recreation & Community Services Manager – Senior Services is responsible for leading the operations, programs, services, and community engagement efforts that support Redwood City’s older adult population. This position oversees a broad range of senior services, including recreation programming, wellness initiatives, social services coordination, special events, facility operations, partnerships, and community outreach, while helping ensure the City’s brand new 45,000 square foot senior center continues to be a welcoming, active, inclusive, and responsive community space.

This role provides leadership and oversight for the day-to-day operations of senior services programs and facilities, including staff supervision, budget administration, program development, strategic planning, contract management, and customer service delivery. This is a grant funded position that is funded through February 4, 2029.
