Description:  Performs law enforcement and crime prevention work, controls traffic flow and enforces state and local regulations. Some essential duties are:

Qualifications: Must either be currently employed as a sworn Peace Officer in California and have successfully passed an FTO program, or have completed a Certified POST Basic Academy.

Education: Graduation from a U.S. High School or equivalent is required.  Additional education at the college level is preferred.

Licenses:  Possession of or the ability to obtain a valid California driver’s license by the time of hire, and ability to maintain the valid license.

Physical Requirement: Meet standards of adequate physical stature, endurance and agility. Vision: • 20/100 correctable to 20/30, with adequate depth perception and color vision. If soft contacts are worn, no limit on uncorrected distance visual acuity provided soft lenses have been worn for at least six months prior to the physical examination.

Background: • As part of the selection process, successful candidates will undergo a stringent background investigation which will include: confirming all information provided by the candidates, a polygraph test, fingerprinting, psychological and medical examinations, including a drug screening. SALARY:  Step A ($120,598.79) to Step E ($146,552.90) annually. Officers can earn up to an additional 27.5% above the base salary through qualifying incentives, such as specialty pay (5%), evening differential (5%), bilingual pay (5%), Master Officer pay (2.5%), and Master's degree incentive (10%). This results in potential annual compensation of approximately $153,763 at Step A to approximately $186,851 at Step E.

DEFINITION

Under general supervision, performs a full range of technical and public contact duties in support of the
Town’s code compliance program. This position emphasizes education and prevention by serving as a
resource, partner, and guide to residents, contractors, and businesses to promote voluntary compliance and
community pride. Responsibilities include proactive community education and outreach, monitoring
construction activity, investigating and resolving complaints, and ensuring compliance with the Town’s
municipal, fire, building, housing, zoning, and related codes and regulations. When enforcement is
necessary, the Coordinator supports individuals through the resolution process by clearly explaining
requirements and facilitating corrective action. Work involves extensive collaboration with Town
departments and the public, detailed documentation and use of case management systems, and the
consistent, fair application of codes and policies. Performs related duties as assigned.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED

Receives general supervision from the Building Official. Exercises no direct supervision over staff.

CLASS CHARACTERISTICS

The Code Compliance Coordinator class series is flexibly staffed; positions are normally filled at
the I level, with advancement to the II level based on demonstrated proficiency, possession of
required qualifications, and management approval.

Code Compliance Coordinator I (Journey-Level):
This is the fully qualified, journey-level class in the Code Compliance series. Incumbents are
responsible for performing the full range of duties related to municipal code compliance,
including complaint investigation, construction site monitoring, inspections, case management,
and public education. Employees in this class are expected to work independently, apply codes
and regulations with discretion, and serve as educators and resources to the community.
Positions at this level may receive direction or instruction as new or unusual situations arise but
generally operate with a high degree of independence and responsibility.

Code Compliance Coordinator II (Advanced-Level)
This is the advanced-level class in the Code Compliance series. Positions at this level are
distinguished from Code Compliance Coordinator I by the performance of more complex or
sensitive compliance cases, the expectation to serve as a subject-matter resource, and potential
responsibility for mentoring less experienced staff. Incumbents are expected to exercise greater
judgment and may be assigned leadership in high-profile cases, advanced compliance activities,
or coordination of multi-departmental enforcement efforts. Progression to this level is typically
based on several years of successful performance as a Code Compliance Coordinator I, advanced
training and/or certification, and demonstration of proficiency in handling the most complex
cases.

Advancement to the Code Compliance Coordinator II level is typically achieved through
progression from the I level and is contingent upon (i) management’s determination that the
incumbent is regularly performing the full range of duties of the higher classification; (ii)
demonstrated satisfactory job performance; (iii) incumbent meeting the minimum qualifications
for the higher classification; and (iv) management approval for advancement to Code Compliance
Coordinator II.

THE POSITION 

Depending upon class level and assignment, duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Review and examine construction documents, plans and specifications for one and two family, and multi-family residential, and basic commercial and industrial projects.
• Conduct plan checks on commercial and residential building structures; review structural calculations, fire resistance requirements, earthquake resistance and soils engineering. Conducts plan checks for commercial buildings to be remodeled and/or altered.
• Confer over the phone or in person with homeowners, builders, engineers, contractors, architects and the public to give information and interpret building codes and regulations and permit requirements; recommends necessary changes to obtain compliance with applicable building and zoning codes and regulations.
• Review corrected plans for conformity with requirements; ensures that proper building permit requirements are met.
• Receive and assess fees for new development and construction projects.  Issue and process building permit applications.
• Maintain records of incoming plans and those completed.
• Conduct field inspections as required. Make on‑site construction inspections on occasion, when required to confirm that construction complies with approved plans and specifications.

San Mateo Superior Court is searching for an experienced and strategic Information Technology Manager to oversee the Business Applications unit responsible for designing, implementing, and sustaining the enterprise systems that keep Court operations running seamlessly. Reporting directly to the Court Director of Information Technology, you will guide a talented team, partner with internal and external stakeholders, and drive technology solutions that enhance judicial services, support data-driven decision-making, and advance the Court’s long-term priorities.

The Position:

Under the general direction of the Court Director of Information Technology, this position plans, organizes and supervises the work of the Court’s business application team responsible for design, development, implementation and support/maintenance of applications and technology solutions to support achievement of the Court's mission and business, operating and judicial objectives.  The Court’s business application team performs limited in-house development.  The team primarily implements, enhances, maintains and supports enterprise-wide, vendor developed systems.

The Information Technology Manager (IT Manager) provides supervision and direction for the ongoing maintenance, technical support, configuration, and customization of Court case management system applications and associated systems.

The IT Manager also coordinates and works closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure sound, efficient technology solutions that meet the Court’s objectives. Performs other duties as assigned, demonstrating flexibility in responding to emerging needs and technology initiatives.

In addition, the IT Manager in the Business Applications section works closely with the Court IT Manager in the Infrastructure section to deploy solutions to support achievement of the Court's mission and business, operating and judicial objectives.

They ensure technology solutions are reliable, secure, and aligned with Court operational, administrative, and judicial service needs, enabling efficient business processes and high-quality service delivery across the organization. 

Incumbents provide strategic stewardship over assigned cost center budgets and ensure proactive planning, prioritization, and execution of technology initiatives of varying size, scope, and urgency. Education and Experience:

Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to qualify could include:

• Education: Graduation from a four-year college or equivalent technical certification with coursework in computer science, information systems or closely related field, AND a minimum of 60 semester or 90 quarter units in IT courses.
• Experience: A minimum of three years as an Information Technology manager or supervisor of at least three staff; a minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in the planning, design, development, implementation, maintenance, and support of core business applications.

THE DEPARTMENT
The Burlingame Police Department is a municipal, full service, community oriented department.  We offer a variety of investigative, preventative, and community policing programs to both protect and serve a community that spans five square miles and is home to more than 28,000 residents.

The Burlingame Police Department is divided into two divisions: Operations and Administration.  The force currently consists of 40 police officers, made up of the Chief of Police, 1 Captain, 2 Lieutenants, 6 Sergeants, 6 Corporals, 2 Inspectors, and 22 Patrol Officers.

We are active in county-wide law enforcement efforts by participating in the San Mateo County Gang Task Force, Avoid the 23 (DUI) Task Force, Narcotic Task Force Details, Alcohol Beverage Control Operations, Office of Traffic Safety grants and as Police Academy Training Officers.

POSITION
Burlingame Police Officers are responsible for preventing crime, arresting law violators, directing traffic, etc.  In that capacity, officers may also serve in special assignments such as K-9, detective, SWAT, hostage teams, FTO, and motorcycle patrol.

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:

• Patrol various areas within the City by driving a police vehicle or by walking to prevent criminal activity, to enforce various laws, regulations, and codes.
• Respond to radio dispatched calls and reports to crime scenes or locations of disorder to protect life and property.
• Conduct investigations, gathers information and writes factual reports involving criminal activity, traffic accidents, suspicious activity, or other unusual incidents.
• Make arrests as necessary and writes report of all arrests made and activities performed.
• Interview and interrogate suspicious persons, suspects, and prisoners.
• Gather, mark, preserve, and record evidence in criminal or related matters; testify and present evidence in court.
• Serve warrants and subpoenas.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

Candidates must be a US Citizen, at least 21 years of age on date of appointment, a US high school graduate (or GED equivalent), have no felony convictions or disqualifying criminal history.  Must be able to understand and carry out verbal and written instructions, read, comprehend, write, and speak English effectively.

Entry Level - Proof of completing the POST Written Test and Physical Agility Test with a passing score.

Lateral Police Officer - To be considered for a lateral Police Officer appointment, candidates must have prior experience as a sworn law enforcement officer within the past twelve (12) months, including the completion of the field training program and probation period with a law enforcement agency.

The City of Menlo Park is seeking engineering professionals, with exceptional technical and project management skills, for Senior Civil Engineer positions in the Public Works Department (Department) Capital Improvement Program (CIP) Division. The Senior Engineer will lead capital improvement projects under the supervision of the City Engineer or Public Works Director. The Position:
The Accountant performs professional work involved in first line supervision of accounting functions, complex account development, maintenance, modification, and reporting. Under direction, the position is responsible for applying generally accepted accounting principles to analyze, maintain, reconcile and verify a variety of budgetary, accounting and other fiscal records. The position supervises daily operations in a variety of functional accounting areas and maintains adequate oversight and internal controls over such operations. Public contact is extensive and involves staff at various levels within the organization, local government agencies and other outside entities for the purpose of exchanging technical accounting procedural and policy information. A high degree of independent judgment and creativity are required to analyze data and develop resolutions to a variety of minor and major problems that occur.
