ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Typical duties may include, but are not limited to the following:

• Field Monitors assist in the supervision and enforcement of rules, ordinances, and policies of City athletic fields, parks, and open spaces.
• Interacts in a positive and friendly manner with City staff, community members, organizations, and businesses daily.
• Reports back to Recreation staff about the interactions and conditions of the City facilities.
• Inspects public areas for safety hazards and sanitary conditions and reports possible hazards to the Recreation Staff.

KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES/SKILLS

Knowledge of:  Burlingame Parks and Recreation Department regulations and City policies; geography of the City and sites of City parks and facilities; and background in organizing, supervising, scheduling or participating in youth and adult sports.

Ability to: Work independently without direct supervision; interpret and enforce the Burlingame field use policy and park rules and ordinances; follow verbal and written instructions; become an effective liaison with all youth and adult users of athletics fields; establish and maintain a positive customer service approach in dealing with the public and work cooperatively and effectively with co-workers to provide general assistance to the public; and work weekends and holidays as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education and/or Experience: Sufficient education and experience to perform the above duties, which is typically obtained through a high school diploma or equivalent.

License/Certificate: Class C driver’s license issued by the California Department of Motor Vehicles.

PHYSICAL, MENTAL, AND ENVIRONMENT WORKING CONDITIONS

Position requires sitting, standing, walking on level and unlevel or uneven and slippery surfaces, reaching, twisting, turning, kneeling, bending, stooping, squatting, crouching, grasping, and making repetitive hand movement in the performance of daily duties.   The position also requires both near and far vision; the need to lift, carry and push tools, equipment, and supplies weighing 55 pounds or more is also required.  Additionally, the incumbent in this outdoor position works in all weather conditions, including wet, hot, and cold.

The incumbent may be required to respond to after-hours emergency call-outs and perform routine standby duties.

THE POSITION:

This is a division head management position at the Hayward Executive Airport, reporting to the Airport Manager. The incumbent is responsible for the management of the business and accounting functions at the airport and provides second-line supervision and direction of staff within the Airport Division. This position is distinguished from the Airport Operations Supervisor classification which is responsible for the direct supervision of staff performance of Airside and Landside operations and maintenance tasks at the airport. Under general direction, the Airport Business Supervisor, oversees the airport business function including budget preparation, the real property program, tenant compliance with contract provisions, collections, preparation of grant applications, and other administrative duties.

Assist the Airport Manager with the negotiation of commercial lease agreements.

Prepare draft leases at the request of the Airport Manager.
 
Oversee preparation of the annual airport budget.

Monitor tenant compliance with contract provisions.
 
Monitor account receivables and collect past due amounts.
 
Prepare annual business permits and monitor tenant compliance.

Prepare Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and Caltrans grant applications and related documents.
 
Monitor and submit required FAA reports for the DBE program.

Experience:  Five (5) years of experience in real property management, appraisals, negotiations, and budgeting.  Including two (2) years of supervisory or lead experience.  Experience in an airport business office preferred.
 
Education:  Equivalent to a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university with major work in Public or Business Administration, or a closely related field.
 
Licenses and Certificates:  Possession of either an FAA Private Pilot Certificate or standing as a Certified Member (CM) of the American Association of Airport Executives is desirable.

The Position

The current opening is for a casual, part-time Police Community Service Officer and is under the direction of the Police Sergeant.  The Police Community Service Officer is an entry level, non-sworn, technical support classification associated with law enforcement in the Town Police Department and may perform a variety of responsible duties not requiring the attention of a sworn officer. The focus of the incumbent is parking enforcement.

The Department

The City Clerk’s Office administers the democratic process such as elections, access to records, and all legislative actions, ensuring transparency to the public. The City Clerk’s Office is responsible for acting as a compliance officer for federal, state, and local statues including the Political Reform Act, the Brown Act, and the Public Records Act.

The City Clerk serves as a steward of the democratic process and is a liaison between the City Council and members of the public. San Mateo County Health's Public Health, Policy and Planning Division has exciting field-based opportunities for well-qualified and motivated Nurse Practitioners to provide both primary and urgent care to adults from vulnerable populations within our community—people experiencing homelessness and/or in shelters, monolingual Spanish speakers and other new immigrants, and those without insurance or underinsured. These services are provided through various Mobile Clinic modalities and venues, including but not limited to street medicine, shelter medicine, and the mobile coach. We are looking for collaborative Nurse Practitioners to work in and lead various multidisciplinary service teams in the field to provide comprehensive, low-threshold, client-centered care and engagement.

Teams are staffed by a Nurse Practitioner (NP), Psychiatrist, Medical Services Assistant, AOD Case Manager, and Patient Services Assistants. These teams work closely with our community partners from the Human Services Agency and community-based organizations who locate and identify clients needing medical and/or mental health services, as well as provide additional health, housing, and social services in the field.

Under general supervision, Nurse Practitioners provide urgent care and primary health care services such as physical examinations, chronic disease management (e.g., diabetes and hypertension), and referrals/linkages to specialty clinics as appropriate.

Currently, Public Health Clinics has one full-time, regular, 40-hour-per-week vacancy for a bilingual Spanish Nurse Practitioner and two 40-hour-per-week, Limited-Term Nurse Practitioner vacancies, requiring flexible schedules and field-based work at different locations. Sixty-five percent of the NP’s time will be in the field, with the remainder spent in the office documenting notes, placing orders, and coordinating with other staff as needed.

The ideal candidate has experience:

• In family practice addressing chronic disease management

• In the diagnosis and treatment of sexually transmitted infections

• With the underserved population, including those who are homeless

• Provide comprehensive and urgent care in a variety of non-traditional settings, including homeless encampments, outdoor locations, shelters, and a mobile RV clinic.

• Demonstrate the ability to work closely and collaboratively with a small team in often challenging environments (e.g., homeless encampments, shelters, extreme weather, individuals under the influence, or those with mental health challenges).

• Take stewardship of medical care for assigned geographic populations and/or shelters.

• Assess patients’ physical, emotional, and social status through medical history, physical examinations, and diagnostic screenings; evaluate clinical findings and lab results.

• Identify and manage common illnesses and other health problems.

• Build relationships with community partners to improve health outcomes and expand services.

Qualifications

Education and Experience
Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is qualifying.

• Education: Completion of an advanced nursing degree from a program accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) or the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC), with emphasis in a Nurse Practitioner specialty area.

• Experience: Minimum of one (1) year of paid experience in an acute and/or ambulatory care setting.

Licensure

What You’ll Do 

The Communications Manager will hone and execute the City of San Mateo’s communication strategy, which will include key actions to enhance community engagement and participation, increase community awareness about City activities and initiatives, foster cross-departmental coordination and unity, standardize media response procedures, improve the website user experience, and standardize training and onboarding for new communications staff.  You will work with our internal team to ensure current, high-quality communications products are available. • Representing the City at the Alameda County Waste Management Authority (ACWMA), including Alameda County Recycling Board and Authority Board meetings and reporting significant issues to the City Manager in a timely manner; participating in County Waste Management Authority Technical Advisory Committee meetings; preparing and making presentations to the ACWMA and Recycling Board as required.
• Conducting resident and business surveys related to the RSW Program.
• Preparing a variety of data analyses on waste stream quantities and overall program elements, including cost analyses of programs, in conjunction with ACWMA and State programs and mandates.
• Providing reports to State and Regional authorities on integrated solid waste program results.
• Participating in the development of solid waste, waste reduction, recycling, and pollution prevention policies, which comply with regulatory mandates.
• Analyzing proposed regional, state and federal legislation affecting solid waste management.
• Recommending revisions of existing programs to meet new/changing needs.
• Preparing reports and documents for City Council study sessions and meetings; making presentations to City Council, other boards and commissions, and public groups.
• Providing staff-support and/or representing the City with a variety of committees, commissions, community groups, and the general public.
• Receiving and responding to customer service requests concerning scope of program, technical information, and service delivery issues.
• Developing proposals to obtain county, state, and federal grants; implementing and administering grant programs.
• Planning, assigning, supervising, and reviewing the work of professional and/or support staff; participating in the recruitment and selection of RSW Program staff.
• Facilitating communication, consensus building and resolving conflicts related to MSR Program projects and policy matters by conferring with, facilitating and conducting meetings with elected and appointed officials, other City departments, members of the public, and neighborhood organizations; participating in developing and conducting citizen involvement/public participation events to explain MSR Program policies, procedures, and proposed regulations and policies; and developing and conducting demonstration projects, workshops and other training events.
• Maintaining internal and external customer relations by using tact and diplomacy in all interactions with customers; establishing and maintaining positive and effective working relationships with co-workers and those contacted in the course of the work; and coordinating with departments and outside agencies.
• Maintaining attention to detail by prioritizing work and coordinating several activities simultaneously despite interruptions.
• Maintaining integrity of work by taking responsibility and accountability for completion of work and customer interactions and maintaining punctuality and attendance at work.
