ABOUT THE POLICE DEPARTMENT

The Woodland Police Department is staffed with 71 sworn officers, 18 professional employees, and 8 part-time temporary professional employees. Our staffing is expected to expand in size as the City grows. The Department is managed by a Chief of Police, a Deputy Chief, 4 Lieutenants, 10 Sergeants, and a Police Records Supervisor. The Department has three Bureaus; Patrol, Investigations, and Community Relations. Police Officers are assigned to all Bureaus where they work in various capacities and teams.   Within the Bureaus are many specialty units including K-9, Traffic/Motors, School Resource Officers, Gang Task Force, Detectives, and Homeless Outreach Street Team.  There are a number of collateral duties available to officers including SWAT, Crisis Negotiations Team, Field Training Officer, Honor Guard, Arrest & Control Instructors, Firearms Instructors, Gang Resistance Education, and Training (G.R.E.A.T) instructors, Social Media Team, Recruitment, and Bicycle Patrol. Share your passion of teaching! Course Instructors have the opportunity plan curriculum in your area of expertise and share that knowledge with a class size of 5-15 students. We need instructors for all types of programs and classes at the Community Center, with a focus on adult/senior education. We are looking for instructors with skill levels able to teach their craft to others with multiple years of experience. Class interests include everything from fitness, balance, card games, arts and crafts, music, and special interests.  At Mill Valley Arts and Recreation, we embrace a culture of diversity and invite instructors to deliver the highest quality inclusive recreation programs to our community.

DEFINITION: Plan, organize and execute personal curriculum program classes. Program hours based on class date, time, location with your direct supervisor.  Preparation hours can be discussed.

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:

The Chief Building Official serves as the principal administrative officer of the Building Division. The position directs, assigns, supervises, and plans the activities of the Building Division. Prepares and presents public works related items and issues to the Town Council. THE POSITION

Under close and general supervision, the Public Safety Dispatcher performs a variety of duties involved in receiving, evaluating, prioritizing, and relaying calls for emergency and non-emergency public safety assistance; dispatches appropriate units and coordinates response of emergency personnel; operates a variety of telecommunications equipment including radio, telephone, and computer aided dispatch systems; performs a wide variety of specialized duties involved in emergency communications; and performs related duties as assigned.

This is a single-class, non-safety position that performs a range of activities associated with wildfire-related emergency preparedness and prevention, including: overseeing vegetation management projects, supporting the development and maintenance of detection, alert, and evacuation systems, leading public outreach, and education campaigns, and promoting defensible space practices and home hardening strategies. In addition, the role includes developing and delivering emergency preparedness programs that may extend beyond wildfire readiness to cover other natural disasters such as floods, earthquakes, and life-saving skills training.

THE POSITION: The Dixon Police Department is recruiting to fill full-time Police Officer positions at either the Academy Graduate Level or Lateral Level, as well as establish an employment eligibility list for future possible use.
