The City of East Palo Alto is seeking an organized, detail-oriented, welcoming full-time 1-year limited-term Housing Specialist I-II. The Housing Specialist I/II performs a variety of technical and administrative duties in support of the City’s affordable housing, rent stabilization, and anti-displacement programs. The position supports the development, implementation, and monitoring of housing policies, programs, and projects. The selected candidate will provide information and assistance to residents, property owners, tenants, landlords, and developers, and support the City’s efforts to increase, preserve, and manage affordable housing, and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal housing regulations.

This is an open, competitive/ promotional recruitment, meaning that it is open to qualified permanent employees and any other applicants who meet the minimum qualifications. Two employment lists will be created for internal promotional and an open list of all other, non-current EPA employees.  The department may hire at either the I or II level, depending on the skills, certifications, and qualifications held by the pool of applicants.

• Support and Assistance: Provide essential support to sworn officers, including processing evidence, transporting police vehicles, and assisting with non-criminal calls.

• Experience and Education: One year of police support experience is preferred. A high school diploma or equivalent is required, and an AA/AS degree in law enforcement, criminal justice, or a related field is a plus.

PAL (Police Activities League) Program Attendants work in the formal Suisun City classification of Recreation Specialist I. Starting hourly rate will depend on qualifications. This position works on average 19 hours per week.

The Department: The Recreation, Parks and Marina Department is responsible for the operations and programs of the Suisun City Marina, the Senior Center and the Joseph A. Nelson Center, including preschool, after-school programs at various sites, recreation classes and sports leagues, community events and special event rentals.

The Position: PAL Program Attendants work with Suisun City’s PAL Program and with area teenagers ages 13-19 to implement educational and recreational activities: tutoring, sports, games, mini-excursions, competitions, contests, seminars, and special events, and provide general support to the program’s Recreation Supervisor. We’re looking for highly motivated people with a customer service orientation who genuinely enjoy helping others and who are flexible problem-solvers.

Special Events Attendants work behind the scenes making all Recreation and Community Services excel! This job entails interacting with the public and vendors participating in recreation and community activities, facilitating arts, crafts, games, and sports; performing participant check-in, reception duties and cash handling duties; assisting with large equipment (stage and booth) set-up, take down and housekeeping; opening and closing facilities. As experience is gained, may provide administrative and onsite program support; assisting with training, leading, scheduling and directing staff; organizing and directing event activities; preparing written and verbal reports and correspondence which may include drafting advertisements and social media posts. ABOUT THE POSITION

After School Program Technician I's work in the formal Suisun City classification of Recreation Specialist II. Starting hourly rate will depend on qualifications. This position works on average 19-29 hours per week.

The Position: Under general supervision, this position involves organizing, leading, and coordinating a variety of indoor and outdoor recreational and educational activities for an Afterschool Program. This role is classified as Temporary Part-Time to support both seasonal and year-round recreational programs.

On April 29, 2025, Suisun City Council approved a new contract between the Suisun City RPM Department and the Fairfield-Suisun Unified School District (FSUSD). This agreement expands after school programming to include to grades TK-5 at Dan O. Root Elementary and Crescent Elementary Schools, making the Suisun City RPM Department the sole provider of after school services at both locations. This is a significant milestone for the RPM department and a reflection of the quality and dedication of our team.  We are excited to continue providing high-quality programs for our community's youth.
