Maintenance Worker 2 - Street Maintenance Division

The City of Sunnyvale is excited to announce an opportunity for dedicated individuals to fill (2) regular full-time Maintenance Worker 2 positions in the Street Maintenance Division of the Public Works Department. This position plays a key role in supporting the upkeep of the City's streets and traffic safety-related infrastructure. We are seeking dependable, detail-oriented individuals with strong customer service skills to join our team.

Responsibilities include performing a range of semi-skilled and manual labor tasks, such as repairing and maintaining traffic signs, applying roadway striping, installing pavement markings, and removing graffiti. These positions also perform traffic control, completing asphalt and minor concrete repairs, and carrying out other right-of-way maintenance duties as needed.

SENIOR BUILDING INSPECTOR

Minimum Qualifications:
Education and Experience:

The minimum qualifications for education and experience can be met in the following way:

An Associate's degree or 60 semester units or 90 quarter units in engineering technology, architecture, construction management or related field; AND
Four years of professional, full-time experience as a building inspector with a public agency,

OR

Graduation from high school or tested equivalent; AND
Four years of professional, full-time experience as a building inspector with a public agency and two years as a licensed general contractor.

Licenses/Certificates:
Possession at time of hire and continued maintenance of a valid Class C California driver's license and a safe driving record.
Possession and continued maintenance of ICC Certifications:  Building Inspector (B1 and B2), Electrical Inspector (E1 and E2), Plumbing Inspector (P1 and P2), and Mechanical Inspector (M1 and M2).

The City of Brisbane is currently recruiting for non-sworn Police Officer Trainee candidates. This is for individuals that have no prior law enforcement experience and have not received POST certified police academy training. Trainees are paid while attending a POST-certified Police Academy. Qualified candidates will possess knowledge of California electric utility regulatory issues, CPUC regulatory practices, protocols and procedures; California utility rate design, electric resource planning, demand resources solutions and regulatory relations; and procedures, operations, and functions of legislative and regulatory agencies, including processes for the promulgation of regulations.

THE POSITION

The Police Dispatcher/Clerk is a non-sworn technical and complex clerical support classification associated with law enforcement support services assigned in the Town Police Department.  Police Dispatcher/Clerks learn and perform a variety of responsible records management, communications and dispatching duties for emergency and non-emergency calls for service. 

TYPICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES

Duties may include, but are not limited to the following:

• Dispatches police officers to calls for service
• Provides assistance, information and directions to non-emergency callers including but not limited to police, fire, paramedic, animal control and public utilities calls for service, forwards non-emergency calls to proper personnel or departments
• Maintains awareness of field unit activities; communicates with field units through radio in accordance with Federal Communications Commission (FCC) regulations; maintains status and location of units on patrol
• Retrieves information from State and National computer networks regarding wanted persons, stolen property, vehicle registration, stolen vehicles and other related information
• Enters call information into computer systems; logs and completes call forms, maintains records of calls for service and self-initiated officer activities
• Assists the public at the front counter; provides information and responds to general inquiries
• Performs other related duties as assigned

Dispatch services are provided under a contract with the Yuba County Sheriff. The Police Department is staffed with 11.5 FTE positions, of which 9 are authorized sworn positions. The authorized department staffing includes 1 Police Chief, 1 Sergeant, 6 Officers, 3 part-time Reserves and 2 non-sworn positions.
