Ron Robinson Senior Care Center (RRSCC) is seeking two full-time geriatricians to join our outpatient primary care clinic, located within San Mateo Medical Center in the heart of the San Francisco Bay Area.

Our clinic is specifically designed to meet the unique needs of individuals aged 60 and above. Through a comprehensive interdisciplinary team approach, we empower older adults to lead healthier, more fulfilling lives.

Our team of medical doctors and nurse practitioners is supported by a clinic-dedicated psychiatrist, psychologist, neuropsychologist, pharmacist, nutritionist, podiatrist, and social worker, in addition to our committed nursing and patient service staff. We also offer home visits for homebound patients and host bi-monthly inter-agency meetings to coordinate care for complex cases.

THE POSITION: Under close supervision, perform unskilled manual and semi-skilled manual park maintenance work, and perform related work as required.

 

 

EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED:

• Cleaning restrooms, emptying garbage cans
• Removing weeds and trash from parks
• Assist in mowing, edging, pruning, fertilizing, and seeding

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: The incumbent should have the ability to read, write, and carry out oral and written directions, maintain cooperative work relationships, and operate various park maintenance equipment. Individuals must possess a valid California Driver’s License and a good driving record (recent DMV printout required). This is seasonal work which will include weekends and holidays depending on the needs of the department.

DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS

This is the full journey-level classification in the wastewater treatment plant operator series. Incumbents independently perform the full range of wastewater treatment and reclamation and recycled water facilities and equipment operations and maintenance duties. Responsibilities include inspecting and attending to assigned areas in a timely manner to ensure the proper operation and maintenance of the City’s wastewater treatment plant systems and equipment. Positions at this level work independently, exercise judgment and initiative and receive occasional instruction or assistance as new or unusual situations arise. The City of Foster City is looking for an experienced maintenance worker with a specialization in irrigation systems to fill the position of Irrigation Technician with the City's Park and Recreations Department. The position performs a variety of activities in the installation, inspection, maintenance and repair of irrigation systems and related equipment in all City landscape irrigation systems. This is an advanced journey-level maintenance classification with specialization in irrigation systems.

Education and Experience
Any combination equivalent to experience and education that could likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities. A typical way would be:

Education: Completion of the twelfth (12th) grade or equivalent.

Experience: Two (2) years of experience working in landscape/irrigation, public works or parks maintenance experience, including experience in design of irrigation systems.

Licenses, Certificates, Registration

• Possession of a valid California Class "C" and Class "B" Driver's License. Must obtain valid California Class “B” Driver’s License within six months of appointment.
• Possession of a Backflow Prevention Assembly Testers Certificate from the American Water Works Association (AWWA) is required within twelve (12) months of appointment.
• A Landscape Irrigation Auditor Certificate is desirable.

Selection Process
Applications will be reviewed for relevant education, experience, training and other job related qualifications. Based upon a review of employment applications received, a limited number of the qualified applicants will be invited to participate in the examination process.

The process will consist of an Oral Panel Interview. An eligibility list will be established from those who pass the examination process with a score of 70% or higher. Accounting Assistant I

The Accounting Assistant I is the entry-level classification in the accounting support series that allows the incumbent to develop journey level knowledge and abilities. Initially, under immediate supervision, incumbents perform the more routine accounting support and customer service duties while learning City policies and procedures. As experience is gained, there is greater independence of action within established guidelines. Upon successful completion of one year as an Accounting Assistant I and gaining experience in at least two of the functional areas of the department, incumbents are eligible for promotion to the class of Accounting Assistant II. Accounting Assistant II

Assignments are characterized by the presence of fairly clear guidelines from which to make decisions and the availability of supervision when required. Accounting Assistant III

The Accounting Assistant III is the advanced journey level classification in the accounting support series in which incumbents are expected to perform the full scope of assigned duties, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, customer service, treasury and related support duties with minimum supervision. Incumbents are expected to be able to fully perform the duties and responsibilities in all of the department’s assigned functional areas. Accounting Assistant I

One year of clerical accounting experience, including public contact and some financial record keeping and report preparation, and a high school diploma or equivalent, supplemented by bookkeeping or accounting course work.

Accounting Assistant II 

In addition to the above, one year of experience equivalent to an Accounting Assistant I with the City of Burlingame, including the ability to perform the duties of at least two of the listed functional areas.

Accounting Assistant III

Any combination of education and experience that has provided the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary for an Accounting Assistant III. PHYSICAL, MENTAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL WORKING CONDITIONS:

Position requires prolonged sitting, standing, walking, reaching, twisting, turning, kneeling, bending, squatting, and stooping in the performance of daily activities. The position also requires grasping, repetitive hand movement and fine coordination in preparing statistical reports and data using a computer keyboard. DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS

This is the entry-level class for Water System Operator and Street Maintenance & Sewer Collection System Operator positions in both the Water and Street, Sewer & Downtown Divisions.  Employees hired in either of these positions may reasonably expect promotion to the Water System Operator or Street Maintenance & Sewer Collection System Operator classes upon completion of one year's satisfactory service, completion of probation, and for the Streets, Storm Drains and Sewer Divisions, obtaining a class B driver’s license, passing a CWEA Grade 1 test, and for the Water Division, passing a DHS Grade D-1 test.

Street, Sewer & Downtown Division

Essential Duties:

Works with the following crews: Sign and Paint Crew; Paving Crew; Pothole Crew; Service Repair Crew; Pump Station Maintenance and Repair Crew; Sweeper Pile Crew; Sewer Rodder Crew and Hydro Jet Crew. Assists in laying pipe and sewer lines; sweeps and cleans roadsides, gutters, curbs, culverts, catch basins and other drainage structures; removes debris and undergrowth; assists in setting forms and mixing and pouring concrete; assists in raking, smoothing and tamping repaired patches; assists in the maintenance of mechanical equipment; assists in the layout of traffic patterns on streets and in the operation of painting equipment; cleans mechanical equipment and basic tools used on the job. Assists in maneuvering and driving hydro-jet truck and other equipment associated with this operation. Assists in preventative maintenance and unblocking of sewers using mechanical and hydro-jetting.

Other Duties: Serves as flag person when working in traffic and works in confined spaces.

Water Division

Essential Duties:

Assists in laying pipe and water lines; assists in making taps and connections to mains; assists in the maintenance of mechanical equipment; cleans mechanical equipment and maintains basic tools used on the job.

Other Duties: Serve as flag person when working in traffic; read water meters and assist water service worker; work in confined spaces.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (The following are minimal qualifications necessary for entry into the classification.)     

Knowledge of: 

Uses and purposes of designated hand tools employed in basic laboring work, safety precautions and practices, basic math and sufficient English to follow instructions and learn to write work reports.

Ability to:

Learn safety practices necessary in working on public thoroughfares; learn geography of the city; read and interpret plans and city block book maps; take notes and instructions and complete them accordingly; learn to perform semi-skilled and skilled duties in the assigned division. 

Skills: 

Ability to safely and efficiently use air and hand tools, hydraulic tools, jackhammers, and power and automotive equipment in a training capacity.

License: 

Possession of a valid Class C driver's license issued by the DMV, and the ability to obtain a Class B driver's license upon the end of a one-year probationary period.

Sufficient vision, hearing and stamina to perform the above job duties, and use of proper safety and hearing equipment when using noisy and dangerous equipment.

Water Division
