The City of Sausalito Police Department is seeking empathetic, driven, collaborative Police Officer Trainees. The Police Officer Trainee learns to enforce Federal, State, and local laws and to respond to calls for the protection of life and property by attending a basic Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) certified training academy to obtain the basic skills and fitness level necessary for the performance of Police Officer duties. This position requires a thorough background investigation, a polygraph/voice stress analysis examination, a psychological assessment, and a medical exam prior to appointment.

The City of San Rafael, Child Care Division is accepting applications for Child Care Aide to work in our School-Age Program.  We are looking for people who are available Monday thru Friday from

2:00 – 6:00 pm.  This is a great part-time position for someone who attends school in the morning.  No weekend work required!

This position performs the following essential job duties (including but not limited to):

• Assist Director and Instructors in planning and implementing activities.
• Assist in the supervision of children at the child care center or on outings/trips.
• Assist in the cleaning and maintenance of equipment and materials.

Position Duties

The Council District Offices 2, 6, and 10 are up for election this year. The incoming elected officials will be recruiting for positions. The Council Community Relations Coordinator position will serve as a community relations representative in direct support of an elected official. The position will coordinate media communication and public information efforts for the Council District offices. Education and/or experience in the fields of public relations, communications, journalism, public information, web design, or marketing is highly desirable. Strong writing skills, communication skills, and computer proficiency with a firm grasp of social media tools and platforms are essential in this position. As well as the ability to develop and maintain effective relations with constituents and organizations with a positive and professional demeanor when working in public. Bilingual language skills (Vietnamese, Spanish, and/or Chinese), both oral and written, are desirable, but not required.
 
Responsibilities for this position may include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Planning, writing, and managing monthly external communications.

Program Assistant - Receptionist

Salary Range: $18.52 - $30.68/hour, depending on experience.

DEFINITION

Perform a wide variety of general clerical and/ or operational support duties at the Danville Community Center and/ or Senior Center. Incumbent serves as the facility receptionist, assisting with customer service-related questions and issues, and directing callers and visitors according to established procedures.
 

• This is a part-time temporary, non-benefitted position.
• 0-20 hours per week; not-to-exceed 950 hours per calendar year.

SUPERVISION

Direct supervision is received from the Administrative Assistant with indirect supervision from the Recreation Superintendent. May exercise supervision of part-time personnel and volunteers as assigned.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES

Essential duties are inclusive of, but not limited to the following:

• Serve as first point of contact with the public; responds to information requests regarding services, classes, and events offered by the Town by email, in person or over the phone.
• Perform a wide variety of routine office duties to support department operations including filing, preparing basic reports, and program registration.
• Register participants, and support facility reservations using Active Net software.
• Performs cash handling duties, process payments, and issue receipts. 
• Assist in proofreading the Activity Guide and other marketing materials.
• Communicate with a variety of department staff to resolve customer inquiries.
• Provide support on special projects, and perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Must be able to handle multiple tasks, have strong computer skills and excellent customer service skills. Must be able to work a flexible schedule throughout the year.

Education:

Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator I

The City of San José Information Technology Department seeks an experienced City Information Security Officer (CISO) to lead cybersecurity Citywide initiatives.
 
The CISO will direct the Cybersecurity Office as the City’s principal executive leader for information and systems security. In partnership with the Chief Information Officer (CIO), they will manage risk identification, protection and compliance, threat detection, incident response (IR), and recovery services for all City departments to ensure business resilience.
 
The City’s CISO must be able to apply expertise in security strategy, cybersecurity frameworks, managing staff and vendor services, leading incident management, and optimizing resources to achieve desired security outcomes.
 
Key responsibilities include but not limited to:

• Lead and mentor the Cybersecurity team, offering expertise and support to foster growth and a collaborative environment. 
• Collaborate with business units and solution providers to provide optimal security measures and achieve a balance between sustaining business operations and achieving security compliance.
• Coordinate with stakeholders within the City and partners/vendors outside of the City to ensure information and systems meet the City’s standards for threat identification, protection, and risk detection.
• Develop, operationalize, and enhance the City’s cybersecurity strategic plan, programs, policies, and architecture, including vulnerability, risk, and threat management programs through remediation.
• Conduct training programs to educate City personnel on relevant security best practices, foster diligence, and ensure compliance.
• Provide expert security guidance to City departments and officials in service planning, procurements, contract negotiations, vendor management, and project management.
• Provide expert guidance on regulations and standards (FISMA, FedRAMP, CJIS, PCI-DSS, HIPAA, etc.) the City must meet in providing municipal services, as well as security frameworks (NIST, ISO, IEEE, etc.) to shape City operations.
• Oversee and lead incident management/response processes in coordination with City departments to respond and recover from incidents.
• Resolve security-related audits in partnership with City staff.
• Ensure comprehensive security strategies align with resilience plans and emergency management exercises.
• Oversee vendor relationships and manage the City’s procurement and utilization of cybersecurity products and services across departments.
• Lead the annual Cybersecurity Assessment of the City’s technology infrastructure.
• Provide strategic and operational leadership to address cybersecurity in the City’s emerging Internet-of-Things, smart communities, privacy, and equity through data initiatives. 
• Collaborate with the Digital Privacy Officer to address privacy challenges emerging from new technologies, including AI. 
• Implement governance policies to ensure responsible AI usage across the organization, aligning with ethical standards and risk management protocols. 
• Support the GovAI Coalition’s initiatives to promote responsible and safe use of AI in government.

The City of Berkeley invites you to apply for the position of Assistant Civil Engineer! In this role, you will have the opportunity to work on capital improvement projects in the Parks, Recreation & Waterfront Department or the Public Works Department. You will perform professional office and field civil engineering work related to the planning, design, construction and maintenance of these projects. This position requires a California PE license.

The Parks, Recreation & Waterfront Department maintains more than 50 parks and operates the largest public marina on the Bay. Engineers in this department work on projects at parks, community centers, recreation centers, the waterfront, pools, camps, and related facilities and infrastructure.

The Public Works Department supports the City’s extensive network of public infrastructure. Engineers in this department work on projects across the city that advance City initiatives such as the Climate Action Plan, Pedestrian Plan, and Vision Zero. Program areas within Public Works include Facilities, Sanitary Sewers, Sidewalks, Streets, and Storm Drains.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

A typical way of gaining the knowledge, skills, and abilities for this position is:
Equivalent to graduation from a four-year college or university with major coursework in civil engineering and two (2) years of professional civil engineering experience in design and construction work at a level equivalent to the City of Berkeley Junior Public Works Engineer classification.

Other requirements include:

• Possession of a California State Certification of Registration as a Professional Engineer
• Possession of a valid California driver's license with a satisfactory driving record

The Yuba County Sheriff’s Department is currently accepting applications to establish an eligibility list for the classification of Correctional Officer.  Under continuing supervision incumbents perform a wide variety of support in two areas: corrections, in which incumbents ensure the security, safety and care of individuals in custody; and bailiff, in which incumbents ensure the safety and security of the courts and their personnel during court proceedings; and perform related work as assigned. Incumbents may be assigned to either County Jail security or Court security. 

About the Sheriff’s Department :

The Yuba County Sheriff's Department is responsible for the administration of the Yuba County Jail and Jail staff. The Mission of the Yuba County Jail is to provide safe, efficient, humane and secure custody of all persons incarcerated. The county prisoner population is made up of those who are sentenced to county jail, those serving state prison sentences in the county jail under AB109, and those who are pre-trial and who have not yet been sentenced. The jail provides a necessary link in the criminal justice system. There are numerous programs operating within the facility including medical, kitchen, exercise, commissary, visiting, law library, inmate education, work programs, work furlough program, and inmate classification.

There is one (1) full-time, regular hire Senior Civil Engineer vacancy in the Engineering Division. 

Under direction, the Senior Civil Engineer, plans, manages, and coordinates the engineering program. Using broad parameters of departmental policy guidelines, this position exercises substantial initiative, judgment, and expertise to meet program and project outcomes. The Senior Civil Engineer creates the scope on large civil engineering projects with complex budgets and timelines, integrating numerous elements that significant stakeholder involvement and sensitivity. This position provides direction and mentorship to more junior staff and oversees both technical and administrative work performed by their staff and ensures that projects are completed efficiently and effectively for the public good. Informing the public and Board of Supervisors, selecting consultants, preparing contract documents, reviewing project plans and specifications prepared by consultants, and administering contracts during construction are performed by the Senior Civil Engineer. 

Signing bonus:
In addition to a competitive compensations package, new, full-time, regular hire Senior Civil Engineers are eligible to receive a $10,000 signing bonus which will be split into two equal payments: 50% at time of hire (i.e. first paycheck) and the remaining 50% after successful completion of their probationary period.

Hybrid schedule:
The Department of Public Works has embraced a hybrid work schedule that considers that some duties of this position may be performed remotely. However, the successful candidate must be able to report to County facilities for meetings, work assignments, and/or disaster service work upon short notice, as needed and deemed appropriate. During the initial probationary period, the successful candidate may be required to work primarily onsite before establishing a hybrid work schedule
