The City of Thousand Oaks is seeking a Senior Purchasing Specialist to join our team!

We are seeking an enthusiastic, service-oriented team player who thrives in a busy, fast-paced environment. As part of the Finance Department’s Purchasing Team, the Senior Purchasing Specialist will perform a variety of functions in supporting the City’s purchasing policies and processes.

• Receives, examines, analyzes, and processes purchase requisitions and purchase orders according to City and department policies and procedures; ensures that information is correct and documentation is complete; corrects errors as necessary
• Reviews formal solicitations such as bids and requests for proposals/qualifications (RFP/Q) and posts formal solicitations on City’s procurement portal
• Reviews and facilitates informal solicitations for departments
• Trains City staff on purchasing policies and processes
• Oversees the maintenance of solicitation records, commodity/sub-commodity lists, and other purchasing and inventory files
• Negotiates, manages, and monitors Citywide contracts
• Oversees the maintenance and validation of vendor account information
• Oversees the City’s purchasing card (Cal-Card) program
• Oversees the City’s centralized cellphone and smart device program
• Oversees the transfer of disposal of surplus property
• Resolves inquiries and concerns from employees, vendors, and the public
• Generates a variety of financial reports for Accounting and Budget staff

The City of Thousand Oaks has an excellent opportunity!  We are seeking an organized and detail-oriented Administrative Specialist to perform a wide range of office and administrative support functions. The ideal candidate will be a team player, a self-starter, and take a proactive and solution-oriented approach in support of day-to-day department operations. 

We have an immediate opening for an Administrative Specialist position in the Public Works Department.  This position, which requires strong customer service and multi-tasking skills, will work a 9/80 schedule.

Primary responsibilities:

• Performs a wide variety of complex, sensitive, highly responsible, and confidential office administrative, secretarial, advanced clerical, and support functions
• Creates, formats, proofreads, and edits a variety of departmental documents and correspondence, such as reports, memoranda, letters, technical materials, agreements/contracts, change orders, task orders, and amendments
• Organizes and maintains accurate and up-to-date records and files in accordance with the City’s records management program
• Maintains calendars and meeting schedules, coordinates travel logistics, and processes and reconciles credit card transactions and expense reports
• Serves as liaison between the department and the public, City staff, other City agencies, and outside groups
• Maintains content on department webpage
• Participates in the collection, compilation, and analysis of information from various sources on a variety of topics, e.g., vendor quotes, certificates of insurance, etc.
• Provides general administrative and office support for the department, including processing invoices for payment, preparing pay requests, assisting with employee time-keeping submissions and records, handling petty cash, ordering office supplies, preparing meeting materials, room reservations, and set up as needed
• Communicates with and responds to customer questions and inquiries in person, via e-mail, telephone, and the City's web-based communication system

The City of Marysville is excited to be looking for our next Building Inspector I/II!  The application window is August 20, 2025 at 8:00 am until September 10, 2025 at 5:00 PM. 

Under the general direction of the City Building Official, performs inspections of residential, commercial, public works, infrastructure, capital improvement, and private development construction projects to enforce relevant codes; provides enforcement and interpretations of all state and local building codes and the relation and implementation of policies and procedures; ensures the life, health and safety of the citizens of the City as it relates to construction, use and occupancy of all structures; serves as the principal enforcement officer of the building and housing codes including ordinances and provisions for dangerous buildings and derelict structures; works collaboratively with other departments, individuals and agencies to proactively reduce the number of dangerous buildings and derelict structures in the community.

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES - Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Conduct building plan reviews and proposed construction for code compliance.
• Conduct field building inspections and issue correction notices for building code compliance.
• Conduct inspection of public works, infrastructure, capital improvement, and private development construction projects for workmanship and conformance with approved plans, specifications, contract provisions, safe working practices, Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPP), Air Quality, and/or OSHA requirements.
• Assist the public in providing building code and municipal code information both In the field and at the counter.
• Assist in issuing permits and maintain inspection records.
• Issue correction notices to individuals in violation of established building, sanitation, and related codes.
• Establish and maintain tracking documentation for each violation.
• Receive, document, and investigate complaints concerning noncompliance with building ordinances.
• Identify and abate dangerous and derelict structures in the community by proactively enforcing state and city ordinances.
• Initiate investigations based on analysis of preliminary information.
• Contact individuals and discuss possible violations, alternatives for solving noncompliance problems and time periods for correcting them.
• Perform related duties as assigned.

The City of Thousand Oaks has an excellent opportunity for a motivated team player to provide analytical, technical assistance, planning, and project-level support to administer and enforce the City’s Cross Connection Control Program.  Additional responsibilities may include assistance with regulation tracking and reporting, and provide a variety of other programmatic support related to the City’s drinking water and pretreatment (wastewater) programs.

Under the direction of the Water Quality Supervisor in the Environmental Compliance Division, the Assistant/Associate Environmental Compliance Analyst (Analyst) plays a critical role in protecting the City’s drinking water supply. This position is primarily responsible for developing and administering the City’s Cross Connection Control Program while ensuring compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations.

We are seeking a collaborative self-starter to handle a range of responsibilities with competence and professionalism. The Analyst should demonstrate discretion and independent judgment, possess strong organizational skills, and have a proven ability to meet strict deadlines. The role requires handling sensitive issues with care and having excellent communication and interpersonal skills while working with the public, regulators, other City departments and other municipal agencies.

With additional experience, the Analyst may also provide analytic, technical, programmatic, and administrative support to a broader range of responsibilities within the Environmental Compliance Division, including other drinking water-related regulations, stormwater quality compliance and wastewater pretreatment.

The position will be filled at the Assistant or Associate Analyst level, depending on relevant prior education and work experience.

• Assist in developing, negotiating, and monitoring assigned contracts and agreements with service providers; ensure work complies with contracts and agreements and are within budget
• Assist in the planning and coordination of projects from start to finish and ensure efficient management of multiple project plans to meet deadlines
• Work independently and as a valuable team player on special projects by organizing, researching and coordinating information and requirements; planning, arranging, and meeting schedules
• Coordinate meetings and events, including community outreach
• Provide administrative and technical support to the Environmental Compliance Division related to Drinking Water and Wastewater Pre-Treatment programs.

The Senior Engineer will be responsible for managing complex capital improvement projects, conducting hydraulic studies, and performing advanced technical engineering tasks related to the planning, design, and construction of waterworks facilities. Key responsibilities include preparing plans, specifications, and cost estimates for a range of water infrastructure and public works projects, such as:

• Water main line replacements
