The Resident Services Coordinator conducts programming to support residents living in affordable housing communities through resource navigation, event and workshop planning, and stakeholder collaboration. Programs to facilitate or coordinate may include: food distribution events, coffee socials, budgeting workshop, walking groups, fall prevention classes, parenting classes, resident surveys, and others. Coordinators will also provide 1-on-1 assistance to residents to connect them to local resources and public benefits. 

 

A coordinator will provide services to 2 or more properties that house families, seniors, single adults, special needs, and/or permanent supportive housing residents.  

 

Work schedule 

SCCHA staff work on a 9/80 schedule. 80 hours of work are compressed in a 9-day period, with every other Friday as a day off.  Resident Service Coordinators will be onsite at the properties or at the office 4 days a week depending on the number of properties assigned. There is an option to work remotely on the working Fridays.

What Our Team Is Looking For:  

Any equivalent combination of education and/or experience likely to provide the required core competencies may be considered. A typical combination that is qualifying may include:  

• An associate degree in sociology, social work, business administration, public administration, career planning or related field; and 

• Three (3) years of increasingly responsible experience administering or supporting the administration of resident services and/or community outreach programs in a government or non-profit agency.

THE POSITION:

Under the general supervision of the Youth & Family Services Clinical Supervisor and the Community Services Manager, the Intervention Counselor provides crisis intervention, individual and family counseling; identifies appropriate referral services to youth, families and individuals.

 

CLASS CHARACTERISTICS:

Intervention Counselor is a journey-level professional classification. Incumbents perform the full range of counseling duties within the Community Services division. Incumbents in this position receive occasional instruction as new or unusual situations arise. The Intervention Counselor is distinguished from the Clinical Supervisor in that the latter is responsible for overseeing clinical work, providing direct supervision to clinical staff and interns, responsible for ensuring counselors follow professional guidelines, establishes processes and procedures for the clinical side of the division, researches and provides appropriate training, and is the primary liaison with the school district and police department in regard to referrals, counseling, and crisis support. While the Intervention Counselor provides direct counseling, run group counseling and workshops, and provides intervention services and supportive tools and resources to clients.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

Duties may include but are not limited to the following: 

• Provide individual, family and group counseling to children, adolescents, and adults using a variety of therapeutic and counseling techniques. 
• Provide crisis intervention services around a variety of issues including: incorrigible youth/status offenders, child/adult abuse, domestic violence, trauma, individuals experiencing mental health issues, and families in conflict; may conduct visits at homes, schools, and juvenile detention centers. 
• Conduct assessments to identify appropriate resources, provide referral services and connect clients with additional services as needed.
• May receive, process and track all incoming case management, outreach, and counseling referrals as needed.
• Represent the City of Union City in the name of AC Probation, Centro de Servicios, Tiburcio Vazquez, Malabar House/Eden Counseling Services, NHUSD school administrators – principals, teachers, student services staff, UC Family Center,  Fremont Resource Center, (Fresh Lives for Youth (FLY), Filipinos  Advocates For Justice (FAFJ), MidPen Housing, Bay Area Community Health (BACH),  Safe Alternatives To Violent Environments (SAVE) to continue to develop and maintain relationships with these social welfare agencies and organizations. 
• Prepare and give presentations to youth, parents and community members.
• Conduct outreach to promote programs and services.
• Generate and maintain appropriate records, client files, and accurate statistical/monthly reports.
• Participate in weekly and monthly department and community meetings, trainings, and workshops as necessary.
• May provide guidance and clinical support to non-clinical staff who engage with clients. 
• Develop and implement new processes and procedures as needed. 
   

The City of Menlo Park is currently accepting applications for a temporary Equipment Mechanic in the Fleet Services Section of the Public Works Department. A temporary equipment mechanic performs diagnostic, maintenance and repair services on light and heavy city vehicles and equipment, such as automobiles, storm/sewer trucks, aerial bucket trucks, dump trucks shuttle buses, construction equipment, lawn mowers, small equipment and stationary generators; and performs other duties as assigned.

The Position

The City of Hayward is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer - Water and Wastewater [Formal Title: Senior Utilities Engineer] with a water and/or wastewater background to supervise, direct, plan, and coordinate the activities of the Utilities Division. The Senior Civil Engineer - Water and Wastewater  is a mid-management level position that performs, oversees, and directs engineering activities including planning, conceptual design, final design, cost estimating, project bidding, services during construction and construction management for a variety of projects in wastewater treatment, water storage and distribution, sewer collection, and storm water management. This position will serve as a key member of the team that will manage and deliver a $300 million treatment system upgrade for the City's Water Pollution Control Facility (WPCF) to incorporate nutrient removal into the treatment process.

The ideal candidate will be a senior level professional engineer with experience, interest and skills in designing and implementing a wide variety of wastewater treatment, sewer collections, and water distribution projects in a collaborative and team-focused setting. The City's $300+ million upgrades to its Water Resources Recovery Facility offers an opportunity to implement state-of-the art advanced treatment technologies working in a team environment through design, construction, and startup and commissioning of the new facilities. 
 
DEFINITION
Under general direction, supervise, direct, plan, and coordinate the assigned functions and activities of the Engineering Section of the Utilities Division.
 
DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS
This is a mid-management level position that performs, oversees, and directs all assigned activities of the Utilities engineering section, including planning, conceptual design, final design, cost estimating, project bidding process, services during construction and construction management for variety of projects in water distribution, sewer collection, stormwater management, and wastewater treatment.  This position is distinguished from that of subordinate Associate Civil Engineer position by its responsibility for the supervision of assigned engineering and technical staff, in addition to engineering and technical responsibilities for project development, design, and construction management for more complex projects.  This position is distinguished from Deputy Director of Public Works for Utilities by the latter position's overall responsibility for all aspects of the Utilities Division functions.
 
 

Essential Duties

What you will do:

Duties may include but are not limited to the following:

1. Assists in the development and implementation of the Engineering Section's goals, objectives, policies and priorities.
 
2. Plans, organizes, controls and evaluates the assigned functions and activities of the Engineering Section of the Utilities Division.
 
3. Provides direct and close supervision in the preparation of assigned master plans and studies that outline future water, wastewater and drainage requirements.
 
4. Prepares drawings, models, and displays for special studies and reports completed by the Utilities Division, and explores and studies the preparation of area wide master plans guiding future installations of major water and sewer facilities.
 
5. Directs the work and provides general supervision in the preparation of plans, specifications, cost estimates and the administration of contracts for small construction projects in utilities (e.g., small water main, sewer main and storm drainage projects).

6. Revises and updates standard specifications and details related to water and wastewater utilities.
 
7. Checks plans prepared by other agencies for conflict with the City's existing and proposed utilities systems.
 
8. Consults with and advises other City employees on utilities engineering matters.
 
9. Participates in the selection and supervision of private professional engineers for the development of plans and specifications, studies and reports.
 
10. Coordinates utilities engineering related activities with Engineering & Transportation Division, other City departments, divisions, and sections and with outside agencies.
 
11. Prepares reports and makes recommendations on the Utilities Division's portion of the City's capital improvement program.
 
12. Develops and recommends an annual budget and priority for assigned utilities projects.
 
13. Consults with contractors, builders, and engineers on problems relating to the design, construction, and maintenance of assigned utilities facilities.
 
14. Coordinates construction management of the Utilities Division's projects with the Engineering and Transportation Division staff.
 
15. Consults with and advises the Deputy Director on issues relating to the Utilities Engineer's particular function.
 
16. Advises other sections and program staff within the Utilities Division on engineering and technical matters.
 
17. Prepares project statements outlining scope of projects, design criteria, available data, background, scheduling coordination, and financing for utilities projects.
 
18. Participates in interviews and selection of new employees under the position responsibilities as directed, and trains employees in work procedures, standards and safety practices.  
 
19. Prepares and provides input into employee performance evaluations, including setting and assessing goals, conducts counseling on work-related issues, and makes recommendations regarding discipline.

Minimum Qualifications

JOB RELATED AND ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS 

You have: 
 Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying.  A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be: 
 
Experience:  Four (4) years of progressively responsible experience in professional engineering work in the design and construction of water and wastewater projects including one (1) year of supervisory or lead experience.
 
Education:   Bachelor's degree or equivalent from an accredited college or university in civil engineering, or a closely related field with major work in civil engineering.  A master's degree is desirable.
 
Licenses and Certificates: 

1. Possession and maintenance of a certificate of registration as a Professional Engineer (Civil or Mechanical) in the State of California.  

2. Possession and maintenance of a valid Class C California driver's license.

Experience:
Two (2) years of experience as an entry-level combination-building inspector.  
Specialized training and hands-on experience in the building trades are desirable.

Education:
Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade. An associate degree in construction technology, engineering, or closely related field is desirable.

LICENSE(S) AND CERTIFICATION(S)
Possession of a valid California State Driver’s License, or license in another state with the ability to obtain a California license within 30 days of hire. 
Minimum of two (2) IAPMO or ICC Certifications in building, plumbing, mechanical, or electrical.
A State Contractors License, or engineering degree may be substituted for IAPMO or ICC Certification with the ability to obtain an International Code Council (ICC) certification as a Building Inspector, Combination Inspector, or equivalent during first year of employment.

The Santa Clara County Housing Authority (SCCHA) is seeking a Risk Analyst to join our highly collaborative and dedicated team in advancing the Housing Authority’s risk management and insurance programs. The Risk Analyst will have the opportunity to expand their expertise in risk management, insurance programs, and property mitigation. They will also gain experience in policy development, analytical research, and strategic planning, providing a comprehensive approach to risk management. The Risk Analyst will evaluate, design, and coordinate SCCHA’s risk management efforts, including insurance programs, property and construction risk, and claims management programs. SENIOR ENGINEER

The Salary range is $ 108,142.00—$131,448.00

If so, come join the Town of Los Altos Hills Public Works Department as our next Engineering Technician! In this role, you’ll support engineers and Town staff in delivering vital infrastructure projects and services that directly impact the community.

As an Engineering Technician, you will provide a variety of technical and paraprofessional support to the Public Works Department. Your work will span research, drafting, inspections, site investigations, mapping, permit processing, and data management. You’ll be an essential part of the team that delivers public infrastructure projects and services to the residents of Los Altos Hills.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform technical and paraprofessional engineering work related to land development review, encroachment permits, capital improvements, infrastructure design, environmental/regulatory compliance, and field inspection services

• Assist in preparing designs, plans, and specifications for public works projects such as streets, storm drains, sanitary sewer lines, and other projects, which may involve data collection and analysis, field surveys, performing related calculations, drafting, and cost estimates.

• Perform limited project and construction management services for various projects.

• Update and maintain Public Works design and construction standards.

• Investigate and resolve work orders, field problems, and complaints from property owners, contractors, and utility providers; and recommend and implement corrective actions.

• Review and process encroachment permits; and provide customer service at the public counter, by phone, email, and virtual platforms.

• Provide courteous and professional assistance at the public counter, by phone, email, and virtual platforms, and answer questions about building permits and the permit process.

• Regularly update the Public Works website as directed.

• Prepare CAD drawings and update GIS mapping databases.

• Prepare technical reports, presentations, and visual materials.

• Inspect public works construction and permit-related activities; prepare field notes; and maintain accurate field inspection reports.

• Conduct plan checks for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with applicable codes, Town standards, and best practices

• Respond to service requests and coordinate with team members to ensure timely and efficient project delivery.

• Record documents with the County and maintain project and permit database.

• Participate in training related to job duties and professional development.

• Perform other related duties as assigned

Administrative Assistant

Under the direction of the Town Clerk, the Administrative Assistant performs a wide variety of administrative and clerical support for multiple Town departments, including Community Development, Public Works, and Engineering. Serving as the primary front-line contact at the Town of Loomis front desk, this position provides professional and courteous customer service to the public, Town staff, and outside agencies. Responsibilities include answering inquiries, processing permits and applications, maintaining records, performing routine office support functions, provide website maintenance and support and assisting with recurring customer service tasks to ensure efficient departmental operations. The role requires sound judgment in selecting appropriate procedures, conducting transactions with customers and the public, and resolving routine, and some non-routine, issues based on experience and established policies.

This is a full-time, non-exempt position.  The Town of Loomis offers an attractive compensation and benefits program. The current salary range for this position is $57,767.00 – $71,432.00 annually; placement within this range is dependent on qualifications and  experience.
