ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT

The Library and Recreation Department is comprised of two divisions, Library and Recreation & Childcare, that are dedicated to enhancing the quality of life of San Rafael residents. The Department’s mission is to enrich the community through discovery, learning, and play, and strives to maximize the delivery of strategically aligned programs and services to provide the highest value for the community.

The Child Care division offers programs with developmentally appropriate curriculum with a wide variety of activities and experiences that support and enhance children's cognitive, social, emotional and physical growth.  Our professional staff provides a balance of child-initiated and teacher-led activities designed to support children's individual growth and development in a safe and enriching environment.  

THE POSITION

The Child Care Supervisor plans, organizes and oversees the operation, maintenance, safety, activities and staff of a pre-school or school age child care program, including direct program delivery, training and evaluation of assigned staff, conducting program registration; developing program promotional materials; communicating with school personnel, center families and community members; keeping and maintaining records and producing reports; and meeting all requirements of grant funding.

• Instructs and supervises children; facilitates and leads classroom activities.
• Assists with the establishment of the program budget; tracks expenditures and administers budget.  
• Conducts registrations and provides information to parents regarding program requirements.
• Develops and implements participant behavior and discipline guidelines.
• Hires, trains, coaches, evaluates, and supervises staff; develops individualized skills development plans and provides guidance to staff in accomplishing  goals; ensures staff meet all mandatory training requirements.
• Schedules staff and ensures appropriate staffing levels are maintained.
• Oversees and/or conducts daily student check-in and maintains attendance records.
• Creates, prepares, and distributes program advertisements and promotional materials.
• Maintains records and prepares various reports and statistics related to site operations and activities including program registration, enrollment, tuition, projected revenue, and scholarships.
• Communicates with parents, collaborates with local school districts on implementation of behavioral plans and other special services as needed.
• Oversees planning and implementation of activities and events  year-round; approves Instructor II curriculum and plans.
• Collects and tracks revenues.
• Oversees planning and conducting of emergency drills; oversees and ensures safety and maintenance of facility. 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Any combination equivalent to experience and education that demonstrates possession of the requisite knowledge, skill, and abilities.  A typical way of gaining the knowledge, skill and ability outlined  in the job spec is:  

• Completion of 15 units in Early Childhood Education, Recreation Administration, or related coursework, AND 
• At least three (3) years of teaching experience in a child care center or comparable group child care program.
• An Associate of Arts degree in Early Childhood Education, Recreation Administration, or related field may substitute for one year of experience.
• A Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Recreation Administration, or related field may substitute for two years of experience. 

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

• Candidates must meet all qualifications in accordance with current legal and regulatory requirements for working with children in the age group in their program.
• Must be willing to work the hours (work schedule) required for the assigned Center.
• Prefer possession of a valid California Driver's license.

THE POSITION

Tri-City Mental Health Authority is currently hiring to fill two (2) full-time vacancies for the position of Peer Support Specialist I/II (PSS) within the Mobile Crisis Care Program (MCCP). This position requires individuals to work on-site 5 days a week from 9:00am to 5:30pm, until training is successfully completed. Once fully trained, your schedule may adjust based on team needs and role requirements. 

Tri-City is looking for individuals to serve as a Peer Support Specialist I/II on a full-time basis for the MCCP. The MCCP Peer Support Specialist will be part of a team that provides crisis intervention and stabilization, linkage and referral, consultation, and education within the scope of practice. The MCCP Peer Support Specialist will report to the Mobile Crisis Care Clinical Supervisor and Clinical Program Manager.

This position is responsible for a variety of ongoing responsibilities, including, but not limited to:

• Respond to client's (Full-Service Partnership and Adult and Children’s Outpatient Programs & other specialty mental health services) crisis calls with or without law enforcement;

• Identify treatment needs & make appropriate referrals for necessary services;

The San Rafael Fire Department (SRFD) is piloting a 6-month, part-time, BLS ambulance  program and is seeking up to 6 motivated and enthusiastic individuals to join our team! This opportunity is designed for individuals who are pursuing a career in the fire/EMS services and want to gain hands-on experience in a professional environment. As an EMT, you will work closely with our experienced staff to learn about fire department operations, emergency response procedures, and community engagement.

• Emergency Response Support: Provide emergency medical care at the basic life support level and provide support services to Firefighter/Paramedic crews at prolonged incidents including fires, medical emergencies, rescues, and hazardous materials incidents. • Equipment and Vehicle Operation and Communication: identify and operate various types of equipment for life saving and support measures; safely and effectively drive ambulance unit to specific locations while in communication with dispatchers, treatment center personnel, and/or other emergency team members and internal/external personnel, in a respectful and collaborative manner. • Equipment and Facility Maintenance: Assist in the maintenance and inspection of firefighting equipment, tools, and apparatus. Learn proper cleaning, care, and upkeep of vehicles, gear and tools to ensure readiness for emergency situations. Assist in the tracking, organizing, and dispensing of inventory.  

• Community Outreach: Participate in community events, educational programs, and public demonstrations to promote fire safety awareness and engage with the local community. Serve as an ambassador for the fire department and provide information about fire prevention and preparedness. 

• Administrative Support: Assist with administrative tasks such as record-keeping, data entry, and inventory management. Gain exposure to the behind-the-scenes operations of a fire department.  

• Physical Fitness: Work towards maintaining a level of physical fitness necessary for performing firefighting duties. Engage in physical training and conditioning activities as directed by the department.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE 

• Must be at least 18 years of age with a High School Diploma, GED or equivalent.  

• Must possess a valid EMT (EMT-1/EMT-B) Certificate either through the National Registry EMT or State of California. Must maintain local certification requirements.  

• Must possess a valid CPR “Healthcare Provider” card issued by the American Heart Association or equivalent.  

• Must possess, or within one month of appointment must obtain, an Ambulance Driver Certificate through the CA DMV.  

• Must possess a valid California Class C Driver’s License with a satisfactory record.

• Physical fitness and ability to perform basic physical tasks, continuously move +/-25lbs, and lift up to 50lbs.

DURATION

THE POSITION

Tri-City Mental Health Authority is currently hiring to fill vacancies for the position of Psychiatric Technician I/II (Licensed) within the Mobile Crisis Care Program (MCCP) for the night shift. 

Tri-City’s MCCP operates 24/7 to provide crucial support in mobile crises. As such, the schedule will involve a 3/12 shift pattern, consisting of three twelve-hour days per workweek and one alternating eight-hour day every other week. Shifts may include weekends, daytime hours, and holidays.

This position will first work a 5/40 schedule for approximately 3-6 months of training before transitioning into the night shift schedule.

Examples of night shifts are included below:

• Night Shifts: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM, 7:00 PM - 3:00 AM, 8:00 PM - 8:00 AM, or 8:00 PM - 4:00 AM

• Under the direction of clinical staff, provides medication management services to a caseload of clients in the office and in the field; ensures the proper acquisition and administration of medication.
   
• Provides education and training to clients, their families, and/or staff on the proper care and use of medications, including symptoms of, reactions to, or side effects of, specific medications; informs clients of the impact of abuse and/or misuse of medications.
   
• Conducts home/field visits to evaluate client’s physical environment and behavior such as anxiety, withdrawals, and behavioral health progression/regression.
   
• Takes and records measures of clients’ vital signs, physical condition, and behaviors; assists and observes clients self-dispense medication as prescribed by a psychiatrist and administers scheduled injections.
   
• Conducts medication checks on clients to assess their overall medication management capabilities; takes appropriate action if client poses danger with respect to the use or abuse of medication; observes, evaluates, records, and reports to professional staff changes in client’s condition.
   
• Motivates clients to develop self-reliance in daily living; encourages clients to participate in group and/or individual therapy/program activities.

The Greater Vallejo Recreation District is a Special Service District that has been serving area residents for over sixty years. As a Special Service District, GVRD operates as a separate government agency from the City of Vallejo. GVRD manages 407 acres of public park space including 20 neighborhood parks, 10 community parks, 6 special purpose parks, and Olympic-size swimming pool and 4 community centers.  GVRD maintains over 1,000 acres of public land. 

GVRD is governed by a five-member Board of Directors. With 36 full time employees and approximately 160 part-time and seasonal employees, GVRD operates on a 2025-2026 fiscal year budget of approximately $13 million.

GENERAL SUMMARY

This position is responsible for planning, organizing, and supervising staff in landscape activities, defining and adhering to fertilization requirements, conducting inspections of grounds, and responding to resident concerns.

Supervise and participate in the preparation, application and use of chemicals fertilizers and pesticides; prepare and maintain records for monthly pesticides report; inspect pesticide storage facilities for compliance with state and local laws and regulations.

THE POSITION

Tri-City is now actively recruiting for a Clinical Supervisor I or II for the School Based Services Program within the Child & Family Clinic. The Clinical Supervisor I/II position will report to the Clinical Program Manager and will supervise Clinical Therapists.

This position is responsible for a variety of ongoing responsibilities including, but not limited to:

• Collaborate with Program Manager to provide appropriate staff placement based on the clinical needs of the patients and ensure delivery of quality patient care; monitor, maintain, and adjust staffing levels according to unit productivity and staffing goals; participate in data collection for unit based on quality assurance indicators

 

• Provide guidance to subordinates on Agency philosophy, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures through casework conferences, staff meetings, and work review; assist and participate in the development and coordination of in-service training and staff development programs.

 

• Coordinate, supervise, and direct the clinical, operational and program activities, inclusive of unit personnel, on a day-to-day basis to meet unit objectives.

 

• Provide direct services to clients under appropriate scope of practice.

 

• Make or review decisions on difficult client assessment and casework matters; supervise the timely and accurate submission of activity logs of assigned staff; and review caseload and task/needs reports for accuracy and timely changes.

 

•  Analyze existing caseloads and forecast resource needs.
