ABOUT THE POSITION
Under direction, provides clerical and administrative support to a department head, division head, section supervisor and/or supervisory and professional staff within a variety of City departments. The Position
The City of Newark's Recreation and Community Services Department is excited to announce an excellent opportunity for motivated and skilled professionals to join our team as a Recreation Coordinator. This key role involves coordinating and implementing a variety of recreation and human services programs and events, including sports, fitness, aquatics, and adult and youth development activities. The Recreation Coordinator will also supervise temporary and volunteer staff, and perform a variety of clerical support services.
The Recreation Specialist is a unique position that is primarily responsible for specific projects or long term projects requiring relevant knowledge and expertise.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES (This is a general description of duties and is not all-inclusive)
The Senior Building Inspector conducts routine and complex inspections of buildings and structures at various stages of construction, alteration, and repair to verify compliance with approved plans and applicable building, accessibility, fire, electrical, energy, mechanical, plumbing, zoning, and sign codes. This position also performs plan checks of construction documents, prepares inspection reports, and issues corrective actions when necessary, while maintaining strict adherence to safety regulations on all job sites.
