THE DEPARTMENT
The Department of Public Works and Utilities is comprised of six divisions that work collaboratively to develop, build, operate, and maintain Hayward's infrastructure. The Newark Recreation and Community Services Department is seeking enthusiastic individuals who are not only passionate about working with the public but also possess a genuine interest in coaching and making a positive impact as role models in their lives. This role involves teaching fundamentals of various sports, coaching, refereeing and scorekeeping for our youth and adult sports programs.
Responsible individual is needed to maintain and enforce proper city procedures and policies for our CAREavan Safe Overnight Parking program. This program allows families and individuals currently living in their vehicles a safe place to park overnight. Safe Overnight Parking Attendants would perform site inspections and enforce site policies, supervise participants, and manage each CAREavan facility.
A Responsible individual is needed to maintain and enforce proper city procedures and policies in our parks, parking lots and ball fields. Park monitors will perform park inspections and enforce park policies, supervise patrons, renters and daily facility management.
Police Cadet (20526803)
Under supervision, a Police Cadet is a non-sworn, part-time classification that assists police personnel in a variety of operations in order to gain practical knowledge of law enforcement. They will obtain practical work experience that supports their career goals.
Employees in this classification may receive training and experience in each of the below duties.
CLASS CHARACTERISITICS:
**NEW** Vacation Accrual/Advancement: Newly hired Enhance Lateral Police Officers may, at the discretion of the City Manager and based on justification provided by the appointing department, receive a one-time advancement of up to 40 hours of vacation leave.

The City of Woodland Police Department is looking for candidates who possess a current California POST Basic Academy Certificate or are currently enrolled in a California POST basic police academy.
