Under direction, the Deputy City Clerk provides complex administrative and organizational support for all functions and activities of the City Clerk’s Office, including the duties necessary to ensure the custody and maintenance of official City documents, public and archival records and files, and public information. The Deputy City Clerk services to City employees and the public; as the Acting City Clerk in the absence of the City Clerk.  The Deputy City Clerk – Administrative Aide administers projects as assigned, fields and answers inquiries from the public, City departments, officials, and outside entities; participates in fostering cooperative working relationships among City departments and with State and local intergovernmental and regulatory agencies and various public and private groups; provides highly responsible and complex administrative support to the City Clerk, City Manager, City Council, and other City Administrative Managers, and performs related work as required.

This position is full-time at 36 hours per week.

POSITIONS

The City of Santa Clara is recruiting for a Development Project Manager (Economic Development). The Development Project Manager (Economic Development) is a management position in the unclassified service, responsible for the management and administration of economic development and development actions including agreements and all lease related entitlements, permits, construction, financial components, retention of existing businesses and attraction of new businesses to the City, reducing commercial vacancies, and supporting revenue generation activities for the City. Responsibilities include negotiating complex and highly technical agreements and real property transactions, involving land use entitlements and zoning between the City, property owners, businesses, and other agencies and developing and implementing economic development policies and programs.

This is a management level classification responsible for developing and executing economic development programs and projects and for negotiating with developers, land use attorneys, and financiers to facilitate and expedite economic development projects and real property land use, including but not limited to lease agreements for the City of Santa Clara, often involving complex, highly specialized or difficult real property acquisition; lease administration and permitting issues.  The incumbent will: work under the administrative direction of Deputy City Manager or Assistant City Manager, responsible for the oversight and coordination lease agreements involving the City of Santa Clara, have the lead role working with the senior managers to coordinate and expedite plan check and permit approvals including Director of Public Works, Director of Community Development, Director of Water and Sewer Utility, Director of Electric Utility, Director of Finance, City Attorney and other regional and state regulatory agencies.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Possession of a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Public or Business Administration, Planning, Economics, Finance, or a closely related field AND five (5) years of progressively responsible municipal administrative experience in community development, housing development, planning, real property, economic development, or finance. At least two years of management experience working with senior managers on significant development projects is required.

OR

• Education equivalent to the completion of 60 semester units/90 quarter units from an accredited college or university, with a major in Public or Business Administration, Planning, Economics, Finance, or a closely related field AND six (6) years of progressively responsible municipal administrative experience in community development, housing development, planning, real property, economic development, or finance. At least two years of management experience working with senior managers on significant development projects is required. 

Desirable Qualifications

• A Master’s degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Economics, Finance, Urban Studies, Planning or a closely related field is desirable.

LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS

Possession of an appropriate, valid California driver's license is required at time of application and for the duration of employment.

DESCRIPTION

The City of Thousand Oaks is hiring an enthusiastic and motivated part-time Human Resources Assistant (Hourly City Worker) to join our team!   This is a great opportunity for someone who is interested in pursuing a career in the public sector. THE POSITION

Under the general direction of the Administrative Services Director, the Assistant Administrative Services Director is responsible for overseeing the Finance Division with 10 full-time staff and supporting citywide fiscal and budget operations. This role involves high-level coordination, analysis, and liaison work across City departments, divisions, and external agencies. This position requires deep expertise in financial management, public policy, and municipal operations, including knowledge of the roles of the City Council and the Finance and Audit Commission, exercising independent judgment in policy development and fiscal oversight. The Assistant Director’s daily duties include general accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, payroll, and business licensing, as well as long-term fiscal planning. This role is instrumental in achieving departmental and citywide goals, improving resource efficiency, and delivering high-quality customer service. Primary duties include but are not limited to the following:

• Planning, managing, and overseeing the daily functions, operations, and activities of the Finance Division; areas of responsibility include general accounting, budget, payroll, treasury, business license, tax and revenue collection, and financial reporting.
• Directing and participating in the development of the City-wide operating and capital budget; working with departments to provide data and support for their budget development; monitoring departmental budget performance and making recommendations for adjustments as needed; and conducting ongoing analysis of the City's financial condition, reporting to, and advising, executive management on fiscal matters.
• Directing the preparation of, and participating in developing fiscal reports including monthly, quarterly and annual reports as well as the City's Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR), ensuring adherence to mandated rules, regulations and professional standards.

• Providing highly complex staff assistance to the Administrative Services Director; conducting a variety of organizational and operational studies, special projects, and investigations; preparing and presenting staff reports and other necessary correspondence related to assigned activities and services; presenting reports to various commissions, committees, and boards.
• Attending and participating in professional group meetings; staying abreast of new trends and innovations in the financial field; monitoring changes in regulations that may affect business systems operations; implementing policy and procedural changes after approval.
• Receiving, investigating, and responding to difficult and sensitive problems and inquiring in a professional manner; identifying and reporting findings and taking necessary corrective action.

The Dixon Fire Department is looking to fill one, full-time regular position of Fire Administrative Analyst. This position provides administrative support in the fire department environment including management of records; office management; reception; research; budget preparation; document preparation; project management; and supervision.

This is the primary administrative managerial position in the fire department environment, reporting directly to the Fire Chief. It requires a considerable degree of initiative, independent judgement and tact in dealing with confidential and sensitive matters. DEFINITION

Under direction, the Video Technician assists with the development of television programming and operates a variety of video production equipment for live cablecasts of public meetings and for preparation and playback of pre-recorded video programs, including the editing and production of event recaps and performs other duties as required.

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES

Control remote and portable video cameras, operate digital video recorders and audio equipment for the live cablecasting of public meetings.  Choose camera shots, graphics, and adjusts audio levels.  View action on monitors; control contrast, brilliance, color balance, and fidelity and audio quality of cablecasted television signal.  Inspect video production equipment for proper operation, control, and safety; make minor adjustments and temporary repairs to equipment as necessary.  Assist in the production of programs including desktop editing. Create video "slides" using a variety of text, sounds, and graphics including backgrounds, borders and video images.  Operate a variety of video imaging and scheduling software and/or character generators.  Create automated shows using combinations of video "slides" and/or machine control commands.  Duplicate and label DVDs.  Maintain records of work performed.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge of:  Television and video production techniques, operations and equipment.  Video and computer graphics.

Ability to:      Operate television production equipment such as field and studio cameras, digital recorders, editing equipment, switchers/special effects generators, and character generators; set up, operate and monitor equipment, such as, lights, microphones, audio mixers;  follow oral and written directions; work independently or as part of a team; follow safe work practices; work evenings and attend meetings; interact positively and cooperate with co-workers, respond politely to customers, work as a team member, function under demanding time pressure, respond in a positive manner to supervision, and attend work and perform duties on a regular and consistent basis.

Education:  Graduation from high school or equivalent.  College level course work in television production and/or digital video imaging desirable.

Experience:  One year of video production employment desirable including live video production experience. 

License:  Possession of a valid Class "C" California Driver's License.
