MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Training:

• Equivalent to graduation from an accredited U.S. high school OR passing score on the General Education Development (GED) test; OR Possession of a two-year, four-year, or advanced degree from an accredited college or university.
• College coursework in police science, criminal justice, or a related field is desirable.

Experience:

• Completion of a P.O.S.T.-certified training academy.

Special Requirements:

• Must be 21 years of age as of the date of hire.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
• Must be of good moral character with no felony convictions.

Out-of-State Candidates:

• The California Commission on Peace Officers Standards and Training (POST) will conduct an evaluation of all out-of-state training.
• POST is the sole authority on applicable training and determines whether the candidate must attend an abbreviated academy or a regular police academy.
• If an academy is required, the candidate will be hired as a Police Officer Trainee. Upon completion of the academy, promotion will be made to Police Officer.

The City of Sebastopol is seeking a skilled, enthusiastic, and adaptable candidate to fill the Associate Planner position. The Associate Planner performs various complex, professional-level office and field planning work related to current and advanced municipal planning, including the review of development and land use applications, zoning, site plans, and environmental documents. The successful candidate will provide professional advice and assistance to the public on planning, zoning, permits, and environmental review. In addition, the Associate Planner provides complex professional staff assistance to the Planning Director, other departments, and the public. Description 

Under the general direction from the Recreation Supervisor, the Recreation Specialist – Enrichment is responsible to act as a liaison to the Department’s flourishing enrichment (after school) program and ensure the smooth operation of programming for preschool and elementary aged classes both on and off-site. This includes the elementary-aged afterschool programs Supervised Play at Old Mill Elementary School and Center of Play at the Mill Valley Community Center. This position requires a high level of customer service, attention to detail, marketing prowess, evaluation and oversight of programs, independent contractors, and part-time staff, and the ability to build relationships throughout the community. The Recreation Specialist- Enrichment will assist other staff in the Youth and Teens Division for seasonal programs as needed. 

The ideal candidate will have significant experience working in elementary aged programs, ideally in a fast-paced and dynamic setting. A bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in early childhood education, recreation, or a related field with a minimum of two years of experience in delivering kindergarten, elementary and/or youth programming, etc. is preferred.
