ABOUT THE POSITION

The Redwood City Fire Department is seeking individuals for the position of Cadet Firefighter. The Cadet Firefighter Program is designed to allow students an opportunity to gain firsthand knowledge of fire department operations. Fire Department Cadets spend a minimum of 48 hours and a maximum of 96 hours per month at the firehouse, participating in calls for service, station duties, and training. Cadets will also be expected to attend department-sponsored community functions outside of their 96-hour monthly commitment. Though the goal is to immerse the cadet into all aspects of fire department life, they are not allowed to participate in situations deemed Immediately Dangerous to Life and Health (IDLH).

Qualifications:

Candidates should have an interest in working with youth in recreation or camp settings and demonstrate reliability, along with a positive attitude. The ideal candidate has completed the City of San Mateo’s Leaders in Training Program or equivalent series, communicates effectively with staff and participants, works cooperatively as part of a team, and follows directions from supervisory staff. Successful candidates must pass all required background checks upon hire. A bilingual pay differential is available for candidates fluent in identified languages. Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess a valid State of California driver’s license, and Early Childhood Education units are preferred. Candidates should have at least one year of paid experience in a classroom, after-school program, or camp environment, along with a minimum of a high school diploma. Applicants must demonstrate leadership experience working with youth and strong verbal and written communication skills. The position requires the ability to work independently while following direction from higher-level Recreation staff, as well as the ability to assist with training and mentoring team members. Attention to detail is essential, including maintaining accurate records and required documentation. Proficiency in basic computer applications such as Microsoft Word and Excel is expected. Successful completion of required background checks is mandatory upon hire. Availability is required Monday through Friday from May through August, between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.

San Mateo County Health is seeking well-qualified individuals for the position of Electronic Health Record Analyst II to, under supervision, provide direct application support and user training for SMC Health’s electronic health record (EHR) system; direct, install and maintain EHR applications and related security and interface; support the design, development, implementation, testing, update, integration and maintenance of system configuration, set-up and application tables; determine user, system and application needs and evaluate solutions to address needs; provide data analysis, report development, and technical assistance to system users; and perform related duties as required.

EHR Analyst II: Two years of information technology support experience in a healthcare operation setting, including at least six months of Epic user support experience.

 

License/Certification

EHR Analyst II: (1) Epic Certification in one module; and (2) maintain Epic training credentials through Epic's Continuing Epic Education (CEE) program with additional training that must be completed to maintain certifications, proficiencies, and badges. 

 

For internal Health IT candidates only applying for II during initial Epic Implementation Plan: Epic Certification in one module determined by Health IT management by date set forth in the Epic Project Training schedule.

GENERAL INFO

Under general supervision, the Service Desk staff provides essential support to the San Bruno RAC by performing front desk operations, assisting members and visitors, and supporting daily facility functions. GENERAL INFO

Under general supervision, the Recreation Leader I/II provides essential support to recreation programs and services by performing custodial tasks, event setup and teardown, program support, and minor maintenance duties at various facilities, including parks and community centers. This temporary, part-time, at-will position requires working up to 20 hours per week. The role involves ensuring the facilities are clean, safe, and operational while delivering excellent customer service. Performs other duties as assigned.

Under general direction of the Director of Public Works, plans, directs and supervises all
functions of the Engineering Division and coordinates its activities with other divisions of

preparation of designs, plans, specifications, estimates, and the inspection of a variety of
engineering projects, including streets, sidewalks, water distribution, traffic control

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge of: Engineering principles and practices applicable to municipal public
works, including the design, construction, and maintenance requirements of public works projects; use of construction materials; provisions of the Public Contract Code,
Subdivision Map Act, construction safety regulations and other State and Federal regulations related to public works; the use of computers and automated devices for
managing information and other engineering applications.

Ability to: Supervise, manage and perform difficult and complex professional
engineering assignments; plan, layout, coordinate, and control through subordinates the
work of engineering design, review and inspection; comprehend and prepare complex
technical reports; establish cooperative and effective working relationships with

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge of: Principles and practices of civil engineering design and construction;
principles and techniques of management and supervision including planning, organizing, and developing goals and objectives; principles and practices of design administration including computer aided design (CAD); theories, techniques, materials and equipment used in construction and maintenance of municipal Public Works improvements; legal issues, including liability laws, relating to municipal construction and civil engineering. Private development review/entitlement process and subdivision map act requirements.

Ability to: Demonstrate skill and/or acquire current knowledge in organizing, managing,

Experience: Five years of increasingly responsible experience in design and construction management of civil engineering projects, with at least two of the five years at a level equivalent to a City of Daly City Civil Engineering Associate.

License: California registration as a professional Civil Engineer and a valid Class C California Driver's License.

About the role:                                                                                    

The Parks, Recreation & Community Services Manager – Special Events and Cultural Arts is responsible for leading the planning, production, and oversight of the City’s signature special events, while also supporting Redwood City’s cultural arts programming. From large-scale downtown festivals and concerts to cultural celebrations, family events, and community gatherings featured on www.RedwoodCityEvents.com, this position helps ensure that our parks, plazas, and public spaces remain active, welcoming, and full of life.

This role oversees the full lifecycle of major community events, including concept development, budgeting, sponsorship coordination, vendor and performer booking, permitting, logistics, safety planning, marketing coordination, and on-site production. Signature events such as outdoor concert series, holiday celebrations, cultural festivals, movie nights, and destination activations require thoughtful coordination with Police, Fire, Public Works, Economic Development, and community partners. The Manager leads cross-departmental teams, supervises event staff, manages complex timelines, and ensures every event is inclusive, professionally executed, and reflective of Redwood City’s diverse and dynamic community.

In addition to overseeing special events, this role supports the City’s cultural arts programs and public art initiatives. Responsibilities include serving as staff liaison to the Arts Commission, supporting implementation of the Public Art Master Plan, assisting with Percent for Art ordinance compliance, coordinating with developers on qualifying projects, and helping maintain and promote the City’s growing public art collection.
