The ideal candidate has a minimum of five years’ experience performing the full range of technical work in the areas of general accounting and auditing.  

Main Duties

The main duties will include, but are not limited to:

• Accounts payable, including verifying availability of funds and proper classification of expenditures.
• Review monthly credit cards  transactions for proper coding, approval, and timely processing; follow up with staff as needed due to high transaction volume and coordinate resolution of coding or approval issues.   
• Report generation, including the preparation of the Claims Report for each Board meeting. The Claims Report includes the Accounts Payable and credit cards transactions for a specific period. The Claims Report is a public document and must be reported at every regular Board meeting.
• Perform routine reconciliation of expenditure and revenue accounts, including bank statements.
• Produce journal entries to post to the general ledger.
• Verify, post, and record financial transactions; maintain accounting records, ledgers, registers, journals, and supporting databases in accordance with established accounting policies and procedures.
• Providing technical assistance  for  year-end audit preparation,  including  supplying information to the auditors  and responding to requests and questions.

Additional Responsibilities

The additional responsibilities may include:

• Accounts receivable duties as needed.
• Reconcile specialized accounts including land acquisition worksheets, capital assets, and long-term debt funds to ensure accuracy of financial records.
• Assist in processing debt service obligations, including preparing payment schedules, processing annual payments, posting interest on bonds and notes, updating liability balances, and preparing related journal entries.
• Review, post, balance, reconcile, and maintain accurate and confidential accounting and payroll records. Accurately prepare employee and vendor payments for retirement and other benefits; submit reportable compensation to CalPERS and process payments; prepare Federal and State tax reports.
• Assist in gathering data and preparing monthly financial and statistical reports.

Community Development Department - 1 position

The Management Analyst (Technology Project Manager) will serve as the department’s strategic technology lead, driving innovation, operational improvement, and digital service delivery across Community Development. This position manages major enterprise systems such as Accela Civic Platform, oversees internal process improvement initiatives, leads technology-focused policy initiatives, oversees customer-facing tools and communications in partnership with internal teams, and acts as the primary liaison to IT and other departments for technology implementation. This position receives direction from Assistant Director, and supervises Business Analysts specializing in Accela Operations, and Enterprise Knowledge.

The role requires a unique blend of systems thinking, project management, user-centered design, and policy insight to shape the tools and workflows used by planners, permit technicians, inspectors, plan checkers, and external customers. 

The ideal candidate will have the following:

• Strong project management skills 
• Comfort leading cross-functional initiatives from concept to completion.
• Experience with permit management systems (Accela preferred), data integration, and process improvement in a government or regulated environment.
• Ability to explain technical topics to non-technical audiences and build consensus.
• Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing .
• Ability to prepare and present clear, concise and accurate general or technical reports.
• Experience acting as lead to those assigned to a task, program or project.

Responsibilities:

• Serve as product owner for the Accela Civic Platform, leading roadmap planning, configuration, and coordination of enhancements with IT and vendor teams.
• Manage department-wide technology projects from evaluation through implementation, including vendor coordination, procurement, rollout, and staff training to support permitting, inspections, and customer service improvements.
• Oversee cross-departmental permitting technology initiatives.
• Lead efforts to improve the permitting experience through process mapping, stakeholder engagement, and implementation of low-code and no-code solutions.
• Represent the department in citywide initiatives related to website modernization, customer communications, and civic technology strategy.
• Lead policy research and development for emerging technology topics such as AI, serving as a resource to department leadership.

Finance Department – 2 positions 

Budget Position

The Budget Division produces the City’s biennial operating and capital budgets, develops long-term financial projections, analyzes and reports on the budget performance during the year, and works collaboratively with departments on any necessary budget analyses and amendments.

Purchasing operates with 19 full-time staff. 

his position requires a highly agile and responsive professional capable of operating in a fast-paced environment. The role demands the ability to manage competing priorities, adapt to rapidly evolving and high-demand conditions, and provide timely procurement support to the City’s Electric Department, Silicon Valley Power.

• Considerable knowledge of principles and procedures related to purchasing,
• Considerable knowledge of contract administration, including solicitation methods including RFQs, RFBs, and RFPs,
• Good knowledge of laws, policies and procedures governing public procurement,

Human Resources Department – 4 positions

Silicon Valley Power/Electric Department – 1 position

This position with report to the SVP’s engineering department. 

• support the administrative activities of the Engineering team, including but not limited to drafting proposals/correspondence, and conducting cost analysis of proposals.

• Assist in processing contracts and management of existing contracts. Assist in invoice processing through Project management software (eBuilder) and other project related process in eBuilder.

The City of Patterson is currently recruiting to fill one (1) part-time Recreation Coordinator position with the Recreation & Community Services Department and to establish an eligibility list.

Under general supervision from the Recreation Programs Supervisor, this position assists in the planning, organizing, developing, and implementing of youth sports programs that contribute to health, fitness, and community safety.  Duties include but are not limited to: manages resources based on program needs for personnel, equipment, and materials; assists with scheduling, training, and motivating staff and volunteers;  assists with the development of public relations materials for marketing of programs and promotion of the health, fitness, and safety benefits of older adults; performs related work as required and special projects as assigned.

ABOUT THE POSITION:
The Circulation Manager leads the day-to-day operations and strategic direction of the Library’s Circulation Services. As a member of the Library’s management team, this role is instrumental in maintaining efficient, patron-centered service. Key responsibilities include overseeing circulation operations at the Serramonte Main Library: supervising and supporting staff, managing schedules, and ensuring a high standard of customer service. The Circulation Manager also collaborates with managers across all four Daly City library locations, contributes to committee work, supports program planning and implementation related to circulation services, and completes special projects as assigned.

DEFINITION

Under the general supervision of a Librarian II, Librarian III or Library Services Manager, this position is responsible for coordinating a library program area such as Circulation, Programming, Outreach and Marketing, or Technology Support and Training.  This is the highest level of the Library Assistant series and is distinguished from the next lower class by the higher level of responsibility, including coordinating services system-wide and training and supervising staff. 

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES

Plan and coordinate the operation of the circulation desk; perform circulation desk duties including checking materials in and out as necessary; train and supervise Library Assistants, Aides, and Pages; assist in the formulating and enforcing local library policies and procedures; may represent the City library on committees dealing with procedures for conducting cooperative library activities throughout the County; maintain the currency of policy and procedure manuals for both intra-library and inter-library activities; assure that subordinate staff operate in accordance with current policies and procedures; schedule work and maintain adequate staffing level; compile weekly timesheets and certify their accuracy; monitor job performance and prepare written evaluations; interpret library policy to patrons and subordinates; assist library patrons in locating and using library materials; answer basic reference questions referring higher level or more complicated questions to appropriate staff; identify and correct operational problems; resolve patron complaints or disputes; report in a timely fashion when problems with equipment or physical plant occur; plan and host library events; promote the library at public events; design promotional materials; plan and implement the maintenance of library computers and other technology; coordinate with third-party vendors, City, and Peninsula Library System information systems staff; troubleshoot technology malfunctions; plan and provide training on the use of technology to staff and patrons; and other related duties as required.

DEFINITION Under general supervision or direction of the Director of Water and Wastewater Resources or the Director’s authorized personnel, develops, monitors, conducts, and administers the Department’s occupational health and safety and environmental programs and Water/Wastewater industrial training program in compliance with federal, state, and local safety, health, and environmental regulations, as well as industry standards; develops, implements and administers  safety and training policies, procedures and directives; evaluates effectiveness of safety and training programs, implements new programs and procedures as needed; assists in the administration of the risk management program; acts as the Department’s Safety Officer; and performs other duties as assigned.

Performs related report preparation and record maintenance for Environmental Protection, Fire Protection, Hazardous Waste Management, and Occupational Safety. Develops and maintains Department’s hazardous material business plans (HMBP) and petroleum storage tank permitting in compliance with Environmental and local Fire Department Regulations. Maintains and updates the Department’s Safety Data Sheet (SDS) database. Conducts thorough audits, investigations and analysis of accidents, incidents and injuries; develops findings, prepares reports, and makes recommendations to assigned supervisor of corrective actions and preventative measures; assesses incident statistics to determine requirements for new or modified training. Maintains a library of reference materials on training records and coordinates the acquisition of training materials, including manuals, technical resources, videos, recordings, and self-instruction workbooks. Coordinates necessary safety certification and license obtainment and renewal for Department employees. Develops and administers contractor safety program, including reviewing contractor health and safety work plans for Department projects, serving as the Department’s subject matter expert, and working with vendors and consultants for matters related to safety compliance, and providing contractors with appropriate hazardous materials communication in compliance with applicable regulations. Education: Graduation from High School or equivalent. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree majoring in industrial engineering, safety engineering, occupational health, or closely related field desirable.

Experience: Three (3) years of experience in the areas of workplace safety and employee training, including at least one (1) year of which involved administration of a comprehensive safety and accident prevention program. Five (5) years of experience in the areas of workplace safety and employee training, including at least three (3) years of which have involved administration of a comprehensive safety and accident prevention program desirable.

License/Certification: Possession of a valid Class C California Driver's License; possession of a Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and Emergency Cardiac Care Provider certificate and First Aid certificate or the ability to obtain one within 12 months of appointment.

The Parks, Recreation & Community Services Manager – Senior Services is responsible for leading the operations, programs, services, and community engagement efforts that support Redwood City’s older adult population. To attend a Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) approved Police Basic Recruit Academy and successfully complete the academic and physical training required for appointment to the classification of Police Officer.

Distinguishing Characteristics

This is a trainee level classification which provides transition into the position of Police Officer. Police Officer Trainees are hired into this civilian position for the period prior and during the time they are assigned to a POST certified police academy. Upon successful completion of training at an academy and upon the availability of a Police Officer Recruit II position, Police Officer Trainees are sworn in and appointed to the classification of Police Officer Recruit II.

Supervision Received
