The City of Sunnyvale’s Public Works Department is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Senior Office Assistant to support the Fleet Services Division. This position will work closely with the Fleet Manager and provide administrative support for fleet operations, including procurement coordination, scheduling, data tracking, reporting, and communications with vendors and City departments. Salary:  Senior Office Assistant:  $37.96 - $48.45 Hourly

The Assistant District Secretary reports to the Deputy District Secretary and provides administrative support for the Boards of Directors and committees for the San Mateo County Transit District(SamTrans), Peninsula Corridor Joint Powers Board (Caltrain), and the San Mateo County Transportation Authority (TA).

Essential Functions & Duties

Examples of Essential Functions:

• Provide administrative support, which includes preparing agenda packets for the Boards of Directors and committees.
• Assist with Boards of Directors and committees matters, such as maintaining official votes and attendance at meetings and documenting relevant information.
• Draft Board of Directors and/or committee meeting minutes.
• Respond to inquiries from the public, staff, or Board members concerning the proceedings of the Boards of Directors or the actions of committees.

• Assisting with the retention, indexing, and retrieval of official SamTrans, Caltrain, and TA documents; assisting with public records requests.
• Attend and record Board of Directors and committee meeting matters, which include off-site and outside regular business hours.
• Prepare reports and coordinate travel arrangements for members of the Board of Directors.
• Schedule and coordinate meetings, arrange facilities, notify participants, and take and disseminate notes.

• Coordinate the preparation and finalization of Board and committee-related materials.
• MaintainBoardsofDirectorsandcommitteefiles.
• Attend Board of Directors and committee meetings which include off-site and outside regular business hours. Post Boards of Directors and committee information to the SamTrans, TA, and Caltrain websites.
• Perform all job duties and responsibilities in a safe manner to protect oneself, fellow employees, and the public from injury or harm.Promotes safety awareness and follow safety procedures in an effort to reduce or eliminate accidents.
• Perform other duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications

Sufficient experience, training and/or education to demonstrate the knowledge and ability to successfully perform the essential functions of the position. In lieu of a degree, work-related experience that demonstrates the skills and experience necessary to perform this role will be accepted. Development of the required knowledge and abilities is typically obtained through but not limited to: 

• Bachelor’s Degree
• Two (2) years of full-time progressively responsible experience providing professional administrative support.

• Experience performing duties in support of Boards of Directors, Councils, or Commissions that operate under the Brown Act.
• Experience in records management.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Able to attend Board and Committee meetings outside of regular working hours (evenings, nights, and rarely weekends and offsite)
• Effectively communicate both orally and in writing.
• Maintain effective working relationships with internal and external customers.

The Dixon Fire Department is opening their Firefighter/Paramedic Recruit position for someone to attend the Fire Academy in January 2026. The "Firefighter/Paramedic Recruit" is an entry-level classification designed for recruits with a current paramedic license to gain firefighting, fire rescue, and fire prevention skills and training necessary through an accredited Fire Academy. THE SAN RAFAEL SANITATION DISTRICT

The San Rafael Sanitation District (SRSD) is committed to protecting public health and the environment by providing safe, reliable, and cost-effective wastewater collection and conveyance services.  Serving residents and businesses in the San Rafael area, the District maintains and improves vital sewer infrastructure including pipelines, pump stations, and treatment connections to support a clean and sustainable community.  

As a sewer collection agency, the District maintains 33 pump stations, 13 miles of force main, and 132 miles of gravity sewer pipeline.  Each y ear the District replaces over 2.5 miles of gravity sewer as part of the annual CIP project.

IDEAL CANDIDATE

The San Rafael Sanitation District is seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled Construction Inspector to help ensure the quality and safety of our vital sewer infrastructure. As a Construction Inspector, you'll perform field inspections on sewer system projects including pipelines, pump stations, and other capital improvements to verify compliance with plans, specifications, and District regulations.

• Performs field inspection of contract work and ensure compliance with plans, specifications, and enforcement of SRSD regulations on various sewer facilities projects such as, but not limited to, construction and rehabilitation of sewer pipe improvements, pumping stations, and other maintenance and capital improvement projects.
• Performs construction related inspection, which includes installation and compaction of pipe, erosion, checking construction work against specifications and drawings, monitoring traffic flow, and checking existing facilities.
• Reviews drawings, maps, plans, and specifications for maintenance projects, capital improvement projects, and private projects.
• Performs field inspection of lateral connection and tests.
• Recommends field changes on construction work.
• Assists in preparation of progress payments.
• Prepares and maintains necessary records and reports.
• Performs field measurements, calculations, and sketches.
• Assists in the design of plans and specifications.
• Prepares "As Built" plans for construction activities.
• Assists in the updates and maintaining databases; performs field work in order to check discrepancies in computer data, and document existing conditions.
• Performs survey and layout for construction projects.
• Performs related duties as required.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE  

• Equivalent to AA degree with specialization in civil engineering or construction management (additional experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis up to a total of two years) AND 
• Two (2) years of responsible engineering inspection or administrative construction experience is required.  Municipal sewer inspection experience is highly desirable.
• Valid California Driver's License

The City of Belmont Public Works Department is recruiting for the position of Mechanic.

The City’s Mechanic position is responsible for maintaining, servicing, and repairing all City-owned vehicles and light and heavy equipment; troubleshooting and diagnosing vehicle malfunctions; performing preventive maintenance on vehicles and equipment; and performing a variety of tasks relative to assigned area of responsibility.  The Mechanic receives general supervision from the Senior Mechanic.

The responsibilities and duties of the Mechanic may include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Inspect, diagnose, maintain and repair mechanical defects in vehicles, light and heavy equipment, trucks, tractors, rollers and related City equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair problems in vehicle electrical, cooling, brake and steering systems; change and repair tires as needed.
• Inspect, diagnose and maintain batteries, alternators, voltage regulators and electrical engine controls; install new lights, wires, alternators, distributors, relay lights and switches.
• Disassemble engines, transmissions, clutches and other driveline components; perform general overhauling.
• Tune, repair and adjust engines, transmissions, drive shafts, rear-ends and smog components on City vehicles and power driven equipment; lubricate and change oil and filters.
• Replace and/or repair any worn parts in vehicles, trucks, tractors, sweepers, rollers and other mechanical equipment including but not limited to spark plugs, brakes, master cylinders, wheel cylinders, wheel bearings, clutches and exhaust systems.
• Perform welding as required to repair equipment.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of time, work, parts, materials and outside service costs.
• Perform duties while utilizing a variety of hand tools and other equipment including brake tools, drill presses, grinding equipment, welders, cutting torches, lifts and related equipment; operate all tools and equipment in a safe manner.
• Estimate cost and time of procedures; prepare invoices.
• Maintain cleanliness in the shop area.
• Perform related duties and responsibilities as required.
