The South Placer Municipal Utility District is currently accepting applications for a Maintenance Worker I.

Placement level dependent on qualifications. Benefits provided for the Maintenance Worker series includes: CalPERS retirement, District paid health insurance up to the Kaiser HMO Full Family Rate, 457 plan with District match up to $150 per bi-weekly pay period, Vacation, Sick leave, and Life insurance.

This position performs a variety of semi-skilled tasks in the maintenance, repair, and operation of a wastewater collection system including sewer mains, laterals, manholes, and lift stations; operates light and moderately heavy power-driven equipment.

Minimum requirements are a high school diploma or G.E.D. and possession of a valid CA Class C driver's license. Employees in this classification must reside within 30 miles of the District's corporation yard and be able to respond and travel there within 30 minutes.

Employees appointed to the Maintenance Worker classification must obtain an appropriate Class B CA driver's license and a Grade 1 certification in Wastewater Collection System Maintenance from the California Water Environment Association (CWEA) (additional details on these requirements are contained in the job description).

This Senior Management Analyst position for the workforce Development Program is a highly independent, technical training and development professional. Are you an experienced emergency management professional ready to lead critical preparedness initiatives for one of California’s largest water agencies? Valley Water is seeking a dynamic and strategic Supervising Program Administrator (SPA) to lead our Office of Emergency Services (OES).

This position plays a key leadership role in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the OES unit and advancing Valley Water’s readiness, response, and recovery capabilities. Reporting to the Assistant Officer of Emergency, Safety & Security, the SPA will supervise two Senior Management Analysts and contracted staff while managing a wide range of emergency management programs and projects.

As experience is gained, assignments become more varied and complex; close supervision and frequent review of work lessen as an incumbent demonstrates skill to perform the work independently. Housing Program Specialist II: This is the journey-level classification in the Housing Program Specialist series. Positions at this level are distinguished from the I-level by the performance of the full range of duties as assigned, working independently, and exercising judgment and initiative. Positions at this level receive only occasional instruction or assistance as new or unusual situations arise and are fully aware of the operating procedures and policies of the work unit. 

Positions in the Housing Program Specialist class series are flexibly staffed; positions at the Housing Program Specialist II level are normally filled by advancement from the Housing Program Specialist I level; progression to the Housing Program Specialist II level is dependent on (i) management affirmation that the position is performing the full range of duties assigned to the classification; (ii) satisfactory work performance; (iii) the incumbent meeting the minimum qualifications for the classification including any licenses and certifications; and (iv) management approval for progression to the Housing Program Specialist II level.

The City of Livermore is currently accepting applications to fill two (2) Mechanic vacancies in the Fleet Services Section of the Maintenance Service Division. A Mechanic performs maintenance and repair services on heavy/light City vehicles/equipment, such as fire trucks, automobiles, construction equipment, street sweepers, lawn mowers, stationary generators; and performs other duties as assigned.

This is the journey level classification in the Mechanic series. The Mechanic performs a range of skilled tasks requiring journey level mechanical ability and aptitude. California-licensed Professional Civil Engineer are eligible for an additional 2% differential above base salary.

New, Full-time regular hire Civil Engineers are eligible to receive a $10,000.00 signing bonus, which will be split into two equal payments: 50% at the time of hire (i.e. first paycheck) and the remaining 50% after successful completion of their probationary period.

There are two (2) Full Time Regular Hire vacancies, one (1) in the Engineering Division and one (1) in the Land Development Division.

The Civil Engineer helps define, design and/or review minor projects and phases of large civil engineering projects with complex budgets and timelines. This position exercises substantial initiative, judgment, and expertise to meet program and project needs. The Civil Engineer may be responsible for designing projects, reviewing project plans and specifications prepared by consultants, or reviewing development applications. The Civil Engineer helps in selecting consultants, preparing contract documents, and administering contracts during construction. This position provides direction and mentorship to more junior staff and oversees both technical and administrative work to ensure that work is performed efficiently and effectively for the public good.

Engineering Division
Projects may include such things as: bridge repair and replacement, culvert repair and replacement, new retaining walls, pavement management, road improvements, new stormwater management devices, new traffic management devices and others.

Land Development Division
Projects include a full range of private development from improvements to single family homes and small businesses to new subdivisions with extensive new infrastructure. This position issues and oversees permits such as grading, creek and quarry permits, supports the Road Commissioner role by issuing encroachment permits, transportation permits, and film permits, ensures private development project comply with stormwater regulations, floodplain management requirements, and use of the public rights-of-way, interacts with the public at the Counter and in meetings, and coordinates with the Community Development Agency to develop conditions of approval for development projects.

Hybrid schedule:
The Department of Public Works has embraced a hybrid work schedule that considers that some duties of this position may be performed remotely. However, the successful candidate must be able to report to County facilities for meetings, work assignments, and/or disaster service work upon short notice, as needed and deemed appropriate. During the initial probationary period, the successful candidate may be required to work primarily onsite before establishing a hybrid work schedule.

Minimum Qualifications:
Registration as a Civil Engineer issued by the California State Board of Registration for Civil and Professional Engineers and three years of increasingly responsible engineering experience.
