Facilities Maintenance Technician II (journey-level class in the classification series)

Responsible for performing the full range of maintenance duties at City buildings and facilities in order to ensure that all are maintained in a safe and effective working condition and provide the highest level of safety for City and public use. Incumbents are responsible for performing maintenance and alterations on buildings and facilities, electrical and mechanical systems, identifying and evaluating construction-related problems, and performing installation and repairs on plumbing systems. Incumbents are expected to work independently and exercise judgment and initiative. Positions at this level receive only occasional instruction or assistance as new or unusual situations arise and are fully aware of the operating procedures and policies of the work unit. This class is distinguished from Senior Facilities Maintenance Technician in that the latter is responsible for technical and functional supervision of lower level maintenance staff and is capable of performing the most complex duties assigned to the series.

Senior Facilities Maintenance Technician (advanced journey-level class in the classification series)

Responsible for providing lead supervision and training to facilities maintenance staff. Incumbents regularly work on tasks that are varied and complex, requiring considerable discretion and independent judgment, including performing the most complex duties required to ensure City buildings, facilities, and grounds are maintained in a safe and effective working condition and provide the highest level of safety for public use. Responsibilities include training, developing and scheduling Facilities Maintenance Technicians, inspecting and attending to assigned areas in a timely manner, and performing a wide variety of tasks in the maintenance and repair of City buildings, facilities and grounds. Positions in this classification rely on experience and judgment to ensure the efficient and effective functioning of the assigned section. The work involves problem-solving of unique issues or increasingly complex problems without precedent and/or structure. Assignments are given with general guidelines and incumbents are responsible for establishing objectives, timelines, and methods to deliver work products.

Positions in the Facilities Maintenance Technician class series are flexibly staffed and positions are normally filled by advancement from the previous level; progression to the next level is subject to management approval and is dependent on the incumbent (i) performing the full range of duties assigned to their current level, and (ii) acquiring the knowledge, skill, and experience necessary to meet the minimum qualifications for the next level of the series.

Tryout Requirements:

• 300-yard continuous swim (freestyle)
• 50-yard Breaststroke
• 50-yard Back Stroke
• 2-minute tread with hands in the armpit
• 10lbs brick retrieval from 10-13ft of water
• 5 enter and exits from the side of the pool (no ladder)

Interviews will be conducted immediately following the successful completion of your tryout.

The Behavioral Health Clinician I/II performs a variety of professional duties in the provision of outpatient and crisis behavioral health services to individuals and groups. This person will work with complex casework which may include clinics, criminal justice, adult services, youth and family services, and other mental health settings where they may be asked to  respond to crisis situations, work with case managers and psychiatrists in treatment teams and be familiar with various treatment modalities to ensure clients are in appropriate treatment services. The position is scheduled for forty (40) hours per week.

JOB DUTIES

• Provides individual, group, and family counseling on a variety of mental health problems and substance use disorders; develops treatment plans; provides follow-up counseling and assists patients with the resolution of problems.
• Observes patients on-site at schools, etc., as necessary; conducts home visits as necessary. Participates in outreach activities, providing information to the community regarding prevention, intervention, and education.
• Provides psychotherapy to children and adult clients or their relatives through individual or group therapy methods.
• Receives referrals from the courts or other individuals or organizations regarding individuals requiring treatment services; develops and implements treatment programs.

General

The Senior Engineer, Railroad Structures reports to the Manager, Engineering Structures and Facilities, and is responsible for Caltrain corridor engineering, construction support of capital improvement projects, engineering design and maintenance support of facilities, including maintenance facilities and historical stations, project planning support, and design studies support for railroad structures including railroad stations, and railroad facilities for the Peninsula Corridor Joint Powers Board (Caltrain).

Essential Functions & Duties

Examples of Essential Functions:

• · Provide engineering architectural and design support related to design review, renovations, structural improvements and repairs for Rail Operations, Capital Projects, Construction Management, and other Caltrain departments.

• · Works closely with key stakeholders internally and externally to maintain railroad facilities, structures, tracks, tunnels and bridges (civil/structural).

• · Review and perform capacity calculations on railway structures, design reviews and capital improvement projects to protect the integrity of the railroad structures, including historical preservation and to ensure technical requirements are met.

• · Oversee projects to be performed by outside agencies (3rd party projects) working on Caltrain property.

• · Participate in capital project development studies including consultant negotiations, estimating, and scheduling.

• · Identify root causes of engineering structural issues and present appropriate solutions.

Examples of Essential Duties:

• · Review engineering design project documents including plans, specifications, calculations, cost estimates, project schedules, and constructability review reports.

• · Review project design documents, interface with Caltrain Operations, monitor construction progress, and inspect construction fieldwork.

• · Assist in monitoring and directing the railroad maintenance contractor for Caltrain structures.

• · Perform on-site and routine inspection required by FRA, provide analysis and condition assessment of existing railroad structures.

• · Monitor third party vendors on capital projects to protect the Agency’s infrastructure and operational interests.

• · Provide responsible and professional staff assistance to higher level management on projects and related matters.

• · Perform all job duties and responsibilities in a safe manner to protect one’s self, fellow employees, and the public from injury or harm. Promote safety awareness and follow safety procedures in an effort to reduce or eliminate accidents.

Minimum Qualifications

Sufficient experience, training and/or education to demonstrate the knowledge and ability to successfully perform the essential functions of the position. In lieu of a degree, work-related experience that demonstrates the skills and experience necessary to perform this role will be accepted. Development of the required knowledge and abilities is typically obtained through but not limited to:

• · Bachelor’s degree in structural or civil engineering, or another related field.

• · Four (4) years of progressively increasing responsibility in structural engineering.

Facility and Sports Field Attendants work in the formal Suisun City classification of Recreation Specialist I. Starting hourly rate will depend on qualifications. This position works on average 19 hours per week.

The Department: The Recreation, Parks and Marina Department is responsible for the operations and programs of the Suisun City Marina, the Senior Center and the Joseph A. Nelson Center, including preschool, after-school programs at various sites, recreation classes and sports leagues, community events and special event rentals.

The Position: Facility and Sports Field Attendants work behind the scenes making all Recreation and Community Services excel!  This job entails setting up for events and rentals, cleaning the facility and performing light maintenance duties.  We’re looking for highly motivated people with a customer service orientation who genuinely enjoy helping others and who are flexible problem-solvers.

Under general supervision, provides clerical and administrative support to a department head, division head, section supervisor and/or supervisory and professional staff within a variety of City departments.  Typical functions may include, but are not limited to reception, word processing, record keeping, and filing.  May also perform related work as assigned.

CLASS CHARACTERISITICS:

Office Specialist I – This is the entry-level class in the Office Specialist series.  Initially under close supervision, incumbents learn office and City procedures.  As experience is gained, there is greater independence of action within established guidelines.  The Office Specialist I class includes part-time and temporary positions with incumbents available to provide relief support to a variety of City departments.  This class is alternately staffed by the Office Specialist II class.  Full-time incumbents may advance to the higher level after gaining experience and demonstrating proficiency which meet the qualifications of the higher class.

Office Specialist II – This is the journey-level class in the Office Specialist series.  Requires the competency to independently perform a variety of office support duties.  All positions are characterized by the presence of fairly clear guidelines from which to make decisions and the availability of supervision in non-routine circumstances.  Specific duties, including the amount of typing, word processing, and use of on-line of personal computers will vary with the organizational unit to which you are assigned.  This class is distinguished from Office Specialist III, which is the working lead-level of the series, because that class performs more complex and/or specialized office clerical support functions.  Full-time incumbents may advance to the higher level after gaining experience and demonstrating proficiency which meet the qualifications of the higher class.

This position is located in the Public Health Division of the Health and Human Services Agency. The Program Manager position has managerial and supervisory responsibility for County programs in the Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) Division. Program Managers are held accountable for the success of the programs and may act on behalf of the Public Health Division. This position exercises direct and in-direct supervision over professional, technical, and clerical staff. This position is full-time, and is scheduled for forty (40) hours per week.
