As an After School Program Director, you would provide leadership and supervision of elementary aged students as a positive role model in their afterschool program. DEFINITION: This position reports to the Recreation Coordinator and/or Supervisor managing Youth Programs. Position Duties:

The total salary range for the Parks, Recreation, and Facilities Supervisor classification $112,563.36 - $137,220.72 annually.

This amount includes an approximate five percent (5%) ongoing non-pensionable pay. The actual salary shall be determined by the final candidates’ qualifications and experience. 

The Parks, Recreation and Neighborhood Services (PRNS) Department is currently seeking to fill one (1) Parks, Recreation, and Facilities Supervisor position in the Recreation Division overseeing the Citywide Aquatics Program. The position will be responsible for the oversight and administration of the Aquatics programs at six (6) city owned facilities including one (1) year-round program. The position is responsible for all related duties to the operation and maintenance of the programs and its facilities. This includes but is not limited to the development and implementation of the Learn to Swim Program, Recreation Swim Program, training programs, staff certifications, contracts with external partnerships, and management of Full Time and Part Time seasonal staff.

The position will also be responsible for the oversight of maintenance and related capital improvements necessary to maintain all City owned pools in good working order consistent with local, State, and Federal requirements. This includes but is not limited to daily pool chemistry checks, pool vacuuming, monitoring of automated pool chemistry systems, development of annual capital plan for pools, and any other necessary duties to maintain the pools in good working order.

The Parks, Recreation, and Facilities Supervisor (PRFS) positions perform duties that may require knowledge in a variety of subject areas, such as recreation, therapeutic recreation programs, and/or gerontology recreation programs, and care and shelter coordination. The PRFS assigned to the Recreation Division performs duties that may require knowledge in a variety of subject areas, such as recreation, therapeutic recreation programs, and/or gerontology recreation programs. The PRFS may be assigned to Community Center operations, Citywide service areas (including leisure, seniors, therapeutics, or aquatics). Community Center operations include responsibilities in leading a team at a multi service HUB including seniors, adults, and youth programs in addition to recreation programming throughout the Council District at satellite sites. PRFS’ assigned to Citywide roles will be responsible for the administration and delivery of major citywide recreation programming related to the areas assigned to that PRFS. The positions must have the ability to constantly adjust to changing conditions and support a wide variety of customers, agencies, partners and department staff. 

In some assignments the PRFS may be responsible for ensuring the proper maintenance and operation of City Parks by supervising interpretive and education programs for City park users, ensuring safe, secure parks; maintaining and conserving natural features and wildlife in City parks and coordinating emergency services within parks, such as search and rescue and fire suppression. The positions must have the ability to constantly adjust to changing conditions and support a wide variety of customers, agencies, and department staff.

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to the following:

• Supervises, trains, and evaluates subordinate staff and their work. 
• Gathers and compiles routine statistical, program, race, and ethnicity data. 
• Prepares and reviews records, forms, reports, permit applications, and grant reporting.
• May handle cash and perform cash reconciliation, monitors and tracks budgets. 
  • Prepares, controls, and implements budgets for specialized service programs within assigned area and provides budget input for personnel, equipment, supplies, and related items.

  • Ensures that recreation public facilities/structures are maintained in a clean, safe condition. Conserves and preserves natural open space for public enjoyment. Recommending improvements and inspects projects to maintain and restore natural resources in City Parks, undeveloped City/Park lands.
  • Plans, coordinates, and supervises comprehensive recreation activities for all age groups. 
  • Supervises public contact, liaison work, and preparation/presentation of programs related to recreation service programs.
    • Provides information regarding services and programs available through all forms of media.
  • Develops, reviews and/or supervises contracts for development, operations, projects, or sponsorships. 
  • Supervises development of resources through fundraising, solicitation of donations or co-sponsorships, and obtaining grants to support programs.
  • Responsible for administration of revenue generating activities including fee collections, revenue projections, and revenue analysis.
    • May develop proposals for methods to enhance the facility or operation with non-traditional funding sources or alternative manpower resources. 
    • Researches, evaluates, and recommends new and existing policy and/or organizational changes aimed at organizational development and improvements.
    • Aligns program objectives and work plans with the goal of better supporting the department’s cost recovery, fee generation, and financial sustainability targets. 
    • Performs other related work, as required. 
    • If assigned to fieldwork, possess ability lift, carry, push, and pull materials and objects (such as equipment) up to 50 pounds, or heavier weights, in all cases with the use of proper equipment.

Eligibility Specialist I:
The Eligibility Specialist I is the entry-level classification in the Eligibility Specialist series.  Incumbents may have prior experience determining eligibility for loans, financial assistance, unemployment or veterans benefits, or publicly or privately funded health, counseling or social services programs; have completed initial classroom training provided as part of the Eligibility Specialist Trainee training program; or may have the required level of education. Incumbents will work under close supervision while learning to independently determine public assistance eligibility, and apply knowledge and skills learned from their training in completing eligibility tasks and applying complex regulations. • Instruct official certification courses using guidelines established by the Southern California. Municipal Athletic Federation (SCMAF) and the CRPD Sports Office
•  Submit a list of individuals successfully completing official's course to SCMAF for certification.
•  Confirm certified officials have complied with SCMAF requirements
• Participate in league manager meetings
• Communicate with league managers, answer inquiries from players and managers
• Observe and evaluate officials at league games; compile written evaluations of all officials
• Review league rules and make recommendations for rule changes; provide rule interpretations
•  Organize athletic facility so programing may be conducted in a safe and fair manner
• Officiate with professionalism and fairness using approved officiating mechanics

Qualifications:

 The Accounting and General Services Specialist III position is in the Public Works Department. This position performs a variety of highly complex technical para-professional administrative duties in support of fiscal and accounting procedures, including budget preparation and auditing a variety of financial records under limited supervision. San Juan Water District Seeks a Customer Service Technician

The Customer Service Technician is responsible to provide customer service and support to the public, responding to inquiries and complaints, receiving and processing payments and fees, and assisting with new connection and permit applications.  The District can hire at the I or II level, depending on experience. 

Duties Include:

• Providing customer service in person, by phone, and electronically; responding to inquiries and complaints regarding utility services, rate structures, billing, payments, hydrant permits, and service orders.
• Receiving, processing, and documenting customer utility payments, fees, and reimbursements; processing payments received by mail, phone, in person, and electronically.
• Assisting in resolving water-related service complaints.

The qualifications include:

I level:

• Graduation from high school or equivalent 

II level:

• Two semesters of college level coursework or two years of experience related to business or accounting 

AND

• One year of responsible experience equivalent to a Customer Service Technician I. 

Both levels:

• Possession of a valid California motor vehicle operator's class C license.

The salary range for the I level is $30.42 - $36.50 and for the II level $33.60 - $40.32, depending on qualifications. May exercise limited supervision of part-time or temporary personnel.  Work is performed under minimal supervision or independently depending upon assignment.

Essential Duties

• Processes transactions in support of department programs which entail substantial interaction with interested parties; knowledge of procedures and policies; and the accounting for payables and monies received.

• Provides information and assistance regarding department programs, policies and procedures to the general public, City personnel, vendors and contractors.
• Processes forms, invoices and other documents in accordance with established procedures; and checks for accuracy and completeness of entries, and for compliance with applicable City, statutory and other requirements; may transcribe documents
• Computes and receives fees in accordance with department schedules and procedures, records revenue received and provides for the deposit of monies.
• May provide limited supervision to part-time or temporary personnel.
• Enters data and information in the preparation of reports, correspondence, forms and other documents.
• Processes accounts payable and prepares cash deposits.
• Works to solve customer complaints and issues related to assignment.
• May operate a two-way radio to dispatch service crews.
