THE POSITION
To perform a variety of semi-skilled and skilled tasks in the construction, maintenance, and repair of water lines, sewers, storm drains, and pump stations.
The purpose of this recruitment is to fill multiple vacancies in both the Water Distribution Division and the Sanitary Sewer/Storm Drainage Systems Divisions of the Public Works Department, as well as establish an eligibility list for future vacancies. Initial position/assignment and salary of the selected candidate will be based on previous work experience and valid licenses/certificates.
IDEAL CANDIDATE
The City of Woodland is looking to fill multiple Utilities Maintenance Worker I/II positions in the Public Works Department. The Ideal Candidate for the current vacancy is someone who has a good understanding of all aspects of underground utilities maintenance and repairs and is familiar with the operation of light and heavy equipment. The Utilities Maintenance Worker II may also be expected to assist in the oversight and training of less experienced personnel. Positions in this class are flexibly staffed and are normally filled by advancement from level I, or by candidates with prior work experience elsewhere.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
The following are typical illustrations of duties encompassed by the job class; this is not an all-inclusive or limiting list:
