THE POSITION: 

The City of San Rafael is recruiting for a Police Officer. This position performs a wide variety of peace officer duties involving the protection of life and property, enforcement of laws and ordinances, criminal investigation, crime prevention and suppression.  Police officers prepare cases and provide courtroom testimony, provide information and assistance to the public and perform special assignments in areas such as patrol, traffic, investigations and gang enforcement.  General supervision is provided by the Police Sergeant.  Responsibilities may include the direct supervision of officers in training and/or the indirect supervision of other officers and/or support staff.

The anticipated hiring range for the Wastewater Treatment Plant Maintenance Supervisor position is $95,985 - $119,982 annually, with a full salary range up to $143,978. The City typically makes offers within the hiring range based on the candidate’s experience and qualifications.

DESCRIPTION 

The City of Thousand Oaks is seeking a hands-on and technically proficient Wastewater Treatment Plant Maintenance Supervisor to support operations at the Hill Canyon Treatment Plant (HCTP), a 24-hour, Class V advanced tertiary wastewater treatment facility with a 14-million-gallon-per-day capacity that treats an average of eight million gallons of wastewater daily from domestic commercial, and industrial sources. HCTP employs a wide range of sophisticated technologies, including a SCADA system, complex mechanical process equipment, analytical instrumentation and meters, industrial electronic control systems, and power distribution infrastructure.  

The Maintenance Supervisor oversees the maintenance of this diverse and critical equipment, including on-site power generation systems such as biogas-fueled cogeneration and photovoltaic solar array that offsets the facility’s energy use. Treated effluent is produced to an advanced tertiary level and reused for agricultural and landscape irrigation, while biosolids are managed and hauled off-site for composting. This role requires strong leadership, sound technical judgment, and the ability to manage shifting priorities in a highly regulated, continuously operating environment, while ensuring safe, reliable, and compliant plant operations.

• Plans, organizes, supervises, and evaluates the work of assigned staff; develops, implements, and monitors work plans, processes, systems, and procedures to achieve established goals, objectives, and performance standards.
