The City of Orinda is looking for responsible, courteous individuals who enjoy working in a hands-on environment, can work independently of supervision and have experience dealing tactfully and effectively with members of the public.  The successful applicant will work on a part time basis with a schedule which will include evening and weekend hours, depending upon programs, rentals and events.   

The Facility Attendant performs custodial duties related to the care and cleaning of assigned facilities, performs a wide variety of duties for events, classes and programs, including setting up and tearing down of tables, chairs, equipment and supplies and will perform minor maintenance and repairs as needed.

EXAMPLES OF IMPORTANT AND ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Provide friendly and professional customer service by greeting Community Center visitors, serving as a main point of contact during activities and events primarily in evenings, weekends and special events.

Performs custodial duties at assigned facilities which include, but are not limited to cleaning, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, waxing, stripping and polishing floors; cleaning furniture, woodwork, fixtures, equipment, supplies, doors, windows, walls, walkways, driveways, and facility grounds; disposing of trash.

Set up all necessary equipment and furniture such as tables, chairs, podiums, and A/V equipment for indoor and/or outdoor events.

Inspects facilities and equipment, reports issues in a timely manner to appropriate higher-level staff; performs minor facility maintenance.

Explain and follow City and department policies and procedures.

Provide information and feedback to Facility and Parks Supervisor.

Opens, closes, secures and alarms facilities in compliance with standard procedures.

Supervise and interact with rental guests, responding by assisting with any facility needs.

Assists in monitoring and maintaining equipment and supplies.

May perform clean up duties as needed, including but not limited to:  move and arrange furniture and equipment, restroom cleaning, sweeping and mopping, and garbage pick-up and removal.

Perform related duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Experience:  Experience in custodial and facility operations is desirable.

License or Certificate: Possession of a valid California Driver’s License with a demonstrated history of safe driving.

Essential duties require the following physical skills and work environment:

Must be willing to work a scheduled variety of hours, which may include evenings, and/or weekends, as needed.

Sufficient personal mobility and physical reflexes to enable the employee to safely lift, move, climb, walk safely on even or uneven grounds, or maneuver in whatever way may be necessary to successfully perform the duties of their position; ability to travel to different sites and locations.

Ability to pass a comprehensive background check and pre-employment medical exam.  Additionally, individuals working in Parks & Recreation are required to be tested for TB.

The Department

The Human Services Department (HSD) delivers and supports services by forging long-term community partnerships; engaging with and building the capacity of the community to do its own problem-solving; and leveraging financial and volunteer resources.

The Position

The Multipurpose Senior Service Program (MSSP) Case Manager will perform professional and clinical social work tasks and duties for older adults living with complex medical conditions to assist them to obtain optimum health, financial, and/or social services. As a member of the Human Services Department, this position reports to a Clinical Supervisor in the Aging and Family Services Division.

This is a regular, part-time position (32 hours/week) and will receive pro-rated benefits.

Examples of Job Duties

• Manage a caseload of 28-32 clients comprised of older individuals with complex medical conditions.
• Conduct comprehensive client assessments and develop and monitor service plan.
• Collaborate with team members, Human Services programs, and community agencies.
• Conduct home visits and provide other community interventions.
• Conduct inter-agency and/or family conferences.
• Advocate for clients in accessing services.
• Monitor services provided for each client.
• Maintain timely electronic documentation of services, reporting, and billing.
• Participate in peer chart audits and outside audit preparation.

Position Duties  

The Department of Public Works is recruiting to fill an Information Systems Analyst (ISA) position within the Enterprise GIS (Geographic Information Systems) team.  

Salary range(s) for this classification is $137,089.68- $167,032.32 annually. This salary range(s) includes an approximate five percent (5%) ongoing non-pensionable compensation. Actual salary shall be determined by the final candidates’ qualifications and experience.  

The Enterprise GIS team operates out of the Department of Public Works but works across the city to coordinate GIS efforts, lead multi-departmental GIS projects, geospatially-enable City business systems, and administer Enterprise GIS infrastructure for citywide use. The city has standardized on a modern technology stack consisting of Windows Server, Esri ArcGIS platform, VertiGIS Studio, Safe Software FME, and SQL Server enterprise geodatabases. The city has an enterprise license agreement with Esri, and the Enterprise GIS team maintains a large Enterprise GIS server environment with public and internal-facing ArcGIS Server instances, complementary ArcGIS Portal and ArcGIS Online organizations, an SDE environment featuring a data catalog with over 1,000 feature classes, and integrations with dozens of business systems.   

The ISA is a professional-level position in the IT professional management series and responsible for GIS system administration, database design, business system integration, application development, and implementation of large-scale enterprise projects. The position requires a GIS professional with broad technical experience as well as the ability to take initiative and direct others. The ideal candidate must be a strong individual contributor that is able to take full ownership of projects, designing solutions in alignment with City Enterprise GIS standards and industry best practices and working at a hands-on level to build, implement, and support such solutions. The position also demands proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues with limited resources. Advanced knowledge of the ArcGIS platform and experience with GIS server administration is required. Experience with VertiGIS Studio and GIS web application development in an Esri environment is highly desirable.   

The GIS ISA reports to the Enterprise GIS Manager. This position is responsible for programming that supports the development and maintenance of major applications used citywide.  

Key responsibilities and duties may include, but are not limited to the following:   

• Administer Enterprise GIS server environment (ArcGIS Enterprise, VertiGIS Studio, FME Server), including planning for and conducting system upgrades; applying and confirming patches; capacity planning and load testing; publishing and tuning services; managing backups; troubleshooting and resolving system issues; managing security policies, user accounts, roles, and permissions; and maintaining system documentation. 

• Meet with business owners and end users to gather and document requirements for GIS solutions. Design, build, and deploy mapping applications on the ArcGIS platform. Provide documentation, training, and support to end users.  

• Develop and maintain web mapping applications using VertiGIS Studio Web 5.x, including web map authoring, site configuration, and development of print templates, reports, and workflows.  

• Develop and maintain complex geoprocessing routines and ETL workbenches using FME and/or Python.  

• Conduct data modeling and design activities for new datasets by analyzing inputs and developing appropriate schemas in alignment with City standards. 

• Build and support GIS integrations with City business systems.  

• Lead large-scale, cross-department Enterprise GIS projects. Work collaboratively with departments to reduce program redundancies and support effective use of enterprise resources. Train end users on enterprise standards and best practices; provide development oversight and guidance. 

In addition, this position is part of a team responsible for providing GIS support in the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) when activated.

The Department

General Description

As a Mental Health Counselor in the Human Services Department, incumbents will provide a full range of culturally responsive intake assessments, individual, family and group counseling, and crisis intervention services to enhance the mental health of those in need.

The Counselor is part of a larger Human Services team that includes psychologists, nurses, social work case managers, a family partner (peer support specialist), substance use disorder intervention specialists, and interns. Counselors receive continuous clinical training, consultation and professional development opportunities and receive supervision from a Clinical Supervisor.

The current vacancy is for a part-time (32 hours per week) temporary position (2 years) in the Family Resource Center (FRC) Division with prorated benefits working primarily with adults at the FRC Division.

• Conduct intake assessment which includes, psycho-social functioning, family and peer relationships, cultural/language needs and family strengths; develop care plans that respond to the individual’s or families’ values and strengths.

The City of Santa Clara is recruiting for the Electric Utility Chief Operating Officer for its Electric Utility, Silicon Valley Power (SVP).  Reporting to the Chief Electric Utility Officer (CEUO), the Electric Utility Chief Operating Officer (COO) is a senior management position in the City's unclassified service responsible for the oversight and direction for the fiscal, administrative, and managerial operations of the utility. The COO has supervisory and support responsibilities for the utility's divisions: Utility Operations, Customer Development and Project Management, Resource Planning and Customer Engagement, and Business Services. The COO will help guide SVP through the extraordinary period of growth related by doubling the existing capacity of the electrical system to meet new customer demands over the next 10 years. In addition to the expansion, the COO will work to ensure new renewable resources are added to meet the City's and State’s climate goals. The COO is responsible for forecasting service requirements and for planning, organizing and directing assigned resources of the electric utility division in order to meet those requirements. This includes developing and administering the department operations and capital improvement budgets. The COO is expected to exercise critical thinking and detail oriented oversight in ensuring that utility operations are smooth, efficient, and compliant, with responsibility for results including costs, methods, and staffing.
