Minimum Qualifications for consideration - Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:

Education/Training: Equivalent to a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in civil engineering, environmental engineering, environmental sciences or a related field. 

Experience: Five years of increasingly responsible wastewater treatment plant and collection system operations and maintenance experience including two years of administrative and supervisory responsibility. One year of Biological Nutrient Removal Treatment Processing is desirable.

License or Certificate:

Possession of a State of California Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator Grade V certificate is highly desirable.

TYPICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (may include but are not limited to the following):

• Assisting with general office duties related to arts programming, including organizing files, organizing artist databases, preparing materials, emails, and phone calls.
• Conducting fieldwork and research related to public art.
• Creating and managing social media content and scheduling to promote arts initiatives. 
• Supporting community outreach efforts through special event participation, flyer creation and distribution, and in-person engagement.
• Practicing professional communication such as communicating with local businesses and community members to help build connections and promote the City’s cultural art initiatives.
•  Developing and distribution of surveys to gather public input and feedback for arts programs.
•  Contributing creative ideas to enhance public engagement and support the City’s Cultural Arts Program initiatives.

The Position

The Planning Manager oversees the operations of CDD’s Planning Division, which includes supervision of a team of 10 planners and management of all current and long-range planning functions of the City. The ideal candidate is a team player; is experienced and effective in all aspects of professional planning practices; has proven leadership, negotiation, and communication skills; works well with a variety of interest groups, individuals, and stakeholders. The Planning Manager serves as staff liaison to the Planning Commission and supervises preparation of the Commission’s agenda and compilation of required reports and documents, and acts as Zoning Administrator and performs all duties required thereof by the Zoning Code. The position exercises direct supervision over professional staff in the Planning Division, receives general direction from the Community Development Director and/or Deputy Community Development Director, and works collaboratively with other division managers within CDD.

Silicon Valley Power (SVP) currently provides over 700 Megawatts of power to residential and business customers within Santa Clara, of which 40 percent of comes from carbon-free renewable resources. In addition to using green energy from large-scale wind, solar, geothermal and hydroelectric projects outside of the area, SVP employs innovative ways to locally produce electricity by operating Thermal Generation facilities utilizing Simple Cycle, Combined Cycle, and Cogeneration technologies. The Position: 

The Generation Technician performs the hands-on duties required to safely and efficiently operate and maintain the SVP Generation resources.  Under direction from the on-shift Sr. Generation Technician, the Generation Technician performs all manner of mechanical, electrical, and operational activities required for the City’s power generation facilities including:

 

• Controlling City power plants and monitoring remote hydroelectric facilities
• Responding to emergency situations and abnormal operations
• Repairing mechanical pumps, valves, compressors, boilers, HRSG auxiliaries, reduction gears, hydraulic systems, liquid and gas fuel systems, lube oil systems
• Repairing electrical systems, breakers, relays, meters, wiring, and motors
• Organizing and supervising contractors and employees in conducting scheduled and emergency shutdown work

 

Incumbents ensure that for all of the City of Santa Clara’s electric generation power plants that all of the systems and sub-systems are operated and maintained in an efficient, effective, and a safe manner. The Position consistently complies with all established safety and health policies and procedures, and helps to identify and eliminate or actively manage risks in all work activities.

Minimum Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Two (2) additional years of electric generation operation and maintenance experience with an electric generation power plant or the equivalent is highly desirable. 
• Three (3) years of operations and maintenance level experience above the entry level with work assignments in the City of Santa Clara combined cycle generation facilities may substitute for the above experience requirements.

License/Certifications:

Possession of a valid California driver's license is required.
 Possession of the following certificates are required within one year of appointment for the duration of the appointment:

• Department of Transportation (DOT) Qualified Operator for Natural Gas Pipeline;
• Department of Transportation (DOT) Qualified Operator for Natural Gas Compressor Station;
• Department of Transportation (DOT) Drug Testing Program for Natural Gas Pipeline and Compression Station Operator;
• Qualified to wear a respirator;

You will have 7-10 years’ experience in the building inspection field, ideally within municipal or governmental roles, demonstrating the ability to lead and mentor, expertise in overseeing building inspections, interpreting building codes, and ensuring compliance with safety, accessibility, and environmental standards. Must maintain ICC certification in at least three of the following areas: commercial building inspector, combination building inspector, electrical inspector, plumbing inspector or mechanical inspector.  These certifications are required at time of hire. In addition, Plans Examiner certification from ICC is required, but may be obtained within 6 months of hire. 

Senior Building Inspector

 Building Inspector certification from International Code Council (ICC) or equivalent is required. CASP certification is highly desirable. Possession of a Commercial Building Inspector or Building Plans Examiner certification from ICC is desirable.  Certification as a Commercial Building Inspector must be obtained within one year of appointment as a condition of continued employment.

The City of Burlingame currently has one opening for a Public Arts Commission Intern. 

Working directly with the City Librarian and with input from an Arts Commission Task Force, the City of Burlingame is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to assess the current stock of public art and research, evaluate, and recommend a comprehensive public facing online cataloging software for public art in the City. This role requires a unique blend of some basic database/software testing skills, basic art interest, and the ability to project manage and present a solution at the end of 8 weeks.  This is an in-person internship program which is a temporary position with a flexible schedule not to exceed 8 to 10 weeks of employment.

THE IDEAL PUBLIC ART INTERNSHIP CANDIDATE WILL:

• Demonstrate a proactive, energetic, and organized approach to efficiently manage multiple tasks and responsibilities. 

•  Have strong research and analytical skills with a high attention to detail.

• Have strong organizational and project management skills and be able to work independently and collaboratively.

• Be able to learn new technology quickly.

• Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to draft professional correspondence, reports, and presentations.

THE POSITION

Tri-City is looking to fill vacancies for a Psychiatric Technician I/II for the Adult Outpatient Program/Adult Full-Service Partnership (FSP) Program. The Psychiatric Technician I/II will appeal to individuals who are inspired by challenges and opportunities presented in working with an engaged and active community by providing all manner of adjunctive medication support services. The Psychiatric Technician I/II will report to the Medication Support Team Supervisor and the Crisis & Medication Support Manager and work a 9/80 schedule.

Psychiatric Technician I: This is the entry-level classification in the Psychiatric Technician series. Initially under close supervision, incumbents learn and perform routine medication monitoring, administration, and support, while learning Authority policies and procedures. 

Psychiatric Technician II: This is the journey-level classification in the Psychiatric Technician series. Positions at this level are distinguished from the Psychiatric Technician I by the performance of the full range of duties as assigned, working independently, and exercising judgment and initiative. Positions at this level receive only occasional instruction or assistance as new or unusual situations arise and are fully aware of the operating procedures and policies of the work unit.

EXAMPLES OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

• Under the direction of clinical staff, provides medication management services to a caseload of clients in the office and in the field; ensures the proper acquisition and administration of medication.

• Provides education and training to clients, their families, and/or staff on the proper care and use of medications, including symptoms of, reactions to, or side effects of, specific medications; informs clients of the impact of abuse and/or misuse of medications.

• Conducts home/field visits to evaluate client’s physical environment and behavior such as anxiety, withdrawals, and behavioral health progression/regression.

• Takes and records measures of clients’ vital signs, physical condition, and behaviors; assists and observes clients self-dispense medication as prescribed by a psychiatrist and administers scheduled injections.

• Conducts medication checks on clients to assess their overall medication management capabilities; takes appropriate action if client poses danger with respect to the use or abuse of medication; observes, evaluates, records, and reports to professional staff changes in client’s condition.

• Motivates clients to develop self-reliance in daily living; encourages clients to participate in group and/or individual therapy/program activities.
