Police Officer Recruit - $84,161 annually

The Department offers several internal assignment opportunities including:
Police Officer $109,864 to $154,569 annually
Additional 3.5% increase scheduled for July 2025 and January 2026
Special Assignment Pay
Members of our team are eligible for specialized assignments with compensation incentives:
Detective/School Resource Officer - Additional 2.5% of base salary
Per Diem Dispatchers will provide public safety dispatching at Levi's Stadium and/or Santa Clara Police/Fire Communications.
As an as-needed employee, this is an "at-will" position and there is no guarantee of hours. Hours are limited to 999 in a fiscal year or 960 hours in a fiscal year for retired CalPERS annuitants.

Program hours are Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from approximately 2:30 pm – 5:15 pm; additional evening and weekend hours as needed.
Level II - $16.97/hour - Level III - $18.04 – $21.24/hour

The Position
SPECIAL PAY INCENTIVES:
Under direct supervision of the Recreation Specialist, Lifeguards are responsible for maintaining safety in and around swimming pools. Lifeguards will be expected to conduct rescue operations, administer Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), First Aid and Automated External Defibrillation (AED) in emergency situations, attend in service trainings, interact professionally and communicate effectively with swimmers of all ages and the general public, write reports, check in patrons, and organize pool equipment for all aquatic programs.
