The Position

The Program Coordinator will provide supervision and oversight of the Fremont Family Resource Center (FRC) Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program (VITA). In addition, this position will be responsible for overall FRC communications, marketing, and event planning. This position will be required to work a varied work schedule which will include weekdays, evenings, and Saturdays.

Examples of Job Duties

• VITA program design and implementation. Duties include, but not limited to:
  • Ensure VITA site compliance as outlined by the IRS.
  • Manage and update calendaring system.
  • Manage day-to-day operations of VITA site(s) to include set-up (moving furniture, setting up laptops and printers, preparing food, clean-up, and washing dishes). Must have the ability to lift up to 50 pounds with help from other staff.
  • Meet with VITA coaches to develop, coordinate, and deliver training curriculum.
  • Maintain program documentation and write reports.
  • Recruit volunteers and attend county-wide meetings as appropriate.
• Serve as marketing, communication, and service integration lead for the Fremont Family Resource Center. Must be comfortable with public speaking, creating and delivering presentations.
• Plan, coordinate, and implement the Fremont Family Resource Center annual Day Away Conference and other FRC events.

• Assist with planning program curriculum and implementing daily recreation program operations
• Assign staff roles and support development and implementation of program activities

• Interact with participants and parents while modeling and enforcing program and facility safety rules

SUMMER AQUATIC STAFF POSITIONS

The Town of Danville strives to provide an aquatic environment that is safe, instructive and fun through recreational and lap swim, special events, the Learn to Swim program, Junior Lifeguard program and Lifeguard training classes.

PROGRAM LEADER (SWIM INSTRUCTOR/LIFEGUARD)

Salary Range: $17.37 to $23.15/hour

QUALIFICATIONS  

Applicants must be at least 15 years of age. Required certifications to perform lifeguard responsibilities:  American Red Cross Lifeguard Training, CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer, First Aid (Lifeguard). 

Aquatics staff generally work 3–5 hours per day and average 15–20 hours per week, with a maximum of up to 37.5 hours. Shifts can take place in the morning, afternoon, or evening at either San Ramon Valley High School or Monte Vista. Staff schedules and locations are coordinated based on program needs, so assignments may vary throughout the season.

SUPERVISION 
Under the general supervision of the Pool Managers, Program Coordinator and Program Supervisor, the Swim Instructor/Lifeguard is responsible for ensuring aquatic safety and providing instruction for pool patrons.  Swim Instructors/Lifeguards must enjoy working with children and the general public, be patient, reliable and have lots of energy.  

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES 
Job duties include lifeguarding, swim lesson instruction, leading pool programming, mandatory staff training, pulling tarps, required daily fitness, and administrative duties. Weekend shifts may be available on a case-by-case bases depending upon programmatic needs. 

  Also:

Senior Guards must have at least two years of lifeguard/swim instructor or equivalent qualifying experience; leadership experience is highly desired.

• Provides valuable customer service skills by assisting the community with aquatic related issues.
• Teaches swim classes and acts as a lifeguard as needed.
• Maintains inventory of pool equipment and supplies, assure pool equipment is in excellent condition and arrange repairs as needed.
• Maintains accurate attendance and registration records, and supports site operations by helping with participant class placement.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Plan, lead, and implement recreational activities for children 4-17 (primarily 5-12) years of age in recreational programs. Supervise program participants in indoors and outdoors settings

The Newark Recreation and Community Services Department is looking for Senior Lifeguards for our fantastic swim lesson and aquatic programs and the upcoming to work at the year-round Silliman Activity & Family Aquatic Center. We are looking for positive, patient, motivated, self-driven individuals that have a passion for working in aquatics and with children, who wish to make a difference in a child's life by teaching them lifelong water skills! Swimming experience is required. Additional program training will be provided once hired. The Program Coordinator for is a unique position that is primarily responsible for planning and coordination of all aspects of the ASES funded After School Academy (ASA) program. ASA provides students in grades 1st through 6th a safe space for expanded learning. Every day students have the opportunity to make social connections, experience enriching activities, and receive academic assistance.
