Assistant Architect- This classification is eligible for a 4% professional incentive pay for maintaining a valid Registered Architect license issued by the State of California. The incentive will end if the incumbent leaves the classification or fails to maintain the required license.

About Engineering & Program Delivery Division

This division is responsible for the design and construction of all capital projects and infrastructure required to provide a safe, reliable and efficient transportation system for Santa Clara County. These responsibilities include program and project management, design development, engineering management, project controls, construction management and turnover of various projects that are part of VTA's rail, facilities and highway transportation improvement programs.

This division is also responsible for the implementation of the projects identified in the 2000 Measure A Program, which includes the planning, design, and construction of the Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART Silicon Valley) Project. The City of Sebastopol is looking for a respectful, compassionate, empathetic Police Officer Trainee. The selected candidate must be currently enrolled or enrolled at a future date as a self-sponsored recruit in a certified Peace Officer Standards & Training Council (P.O.S.T.) Police Academy. The Police Officer Trainee is a non-sworn, training-level classification requiring no prior law enforcement experience. The incumbent performs a variety of entry-level police support duties in a learning capacity. The selected candidate will assist and observe Police Officers and civilian police personnel.

The successful candidate will attend the Police Academy to obtain a Basic P.O.S.T. Certificate of Completion, and perform related work which may require public contact but not the enforcement of laws. Police Officer Trainees attend a POST certified Police Academy, which follows a standardized curriculum in order to provide them with basic training in various aspects of policing, many of which are prescribed by law and/or statute.

The Police Academy training is designed to provide the candidate the necessary skillsets to prepare them for consideration for promotion to a probationary Police Officer position within the City and begin the Sebastopol Police Department’s Field Training Officer program. Attendance and successful completion of a Police Academy is a legal requirement to be hired as a Police Officer within the State of California and is a requirement for a City of Sebastopol Police Officer Trainee to be considered for promotion to probationary Police Officer with the City of Sebastopol.

THE POSITION

The current opening is for a full-time position and is under the direction of the Police Chief. 

The Administrative Assistant III will provide a wide variety of responsible and complex administrative, secretarial and clerical duties requiring specialized knowledge and involving interpretation of broadly-defined policies and procedures; coordinate and participate in office functions in support of the department's goals and objectives; provide information and assistance to employees and the public regarding department policies and procedures.

SALARY:  Step A ($120,598.79) to Step E ($146,552.90) annually. This results in potential annual compensation of approximately $153,763 at Step A to approximately $186,851 at Step E.
