Energetic and responsible leaders are needed to work with youth ages 4-17 (primarily 5-12) in a variety of camp and community service programs. The Camp Specialist is required to plan and implement sports, games, arts-n-crafts, dance and outdoor work projects.

The Waterpark Deck Crew provides custodial maintenance and supervision of the Waterpark before, during, and after Waterpark operations. Work hours may vary but will often be mornings, weekends, weekdays, and holidays.

The Challenge

As a Police Officer your duties will typically include patrolling assigned areas; interacting with the public; conducting criminal investigations; enforcing laws; investigating collisions; preserving the peace and writing reports. The Guest Service Team Member is responsible for providing the highest quality of guest service to all guests. The Guest Service Team Member is expected to work weekends and holidays on a regular basis.

THE POSITION

The main job of a Library Page is putting books, DVDs, CDs, and magazines back on the shelves and preparing the library for opening and closing. The ability to quickly and accurately sort things alphabetically and numerically is required. This is an ideal job for someone who enjoys organizing and who can work quietly on their own.

DEFINITION

Under supervision, sorts, shelves, straightens, relocates, and searches for library materials, re-orders and organizes materials as needed, provides basic directional information to patrons, performs basic circulation duties using computer software, performs physical tasks to support library programs and procedures, performs closing procedures, and does related work as required.

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES

Sorts and shelves materials, assists at public service desks; inspects materials for wear and damage and does basic mending of same; keeps books and periodical shelves in order; assists in taking inventory of books; performs basic custodial tasks as needed.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

 Knowledge of: Basic clerical functions, principles of alphabetical and numerical filing, basic record keeping procedures.

Ability to: Sort material quickly and accurately in alphabetic or numeric order; follow oral and written directions; interact positively and cooperate with co-workers, respond politely to library patrons, work as a team member, function under demanding time pressure, respond in a positive manner to supervision, and attend work and perform duties on a regular and consistent basis.

Must be physically able to stand for extended periods, walk, bend, kneel, push wheeled carts, lift, reach overhead, go up and down stairs, and use a step stool.

Availability for evening and Saturday shifts is required.

THE POSITIONS

Under direct supervision, the Public Service Assistant II will perform litter/trash pick-up, barbeque maintenance, leaf/debris pick-up, and miscellaneous park duties in Central Park and other community parks.  The Public Service Assistant II will also perform related duties as assigned.
 
WORK SCHEDULE

The positions work up to a full-time schedule of 40 hours per week and may be required to work a regular shift that includes evening and weekend hours. These temporary assignments are limited to 999 hours per fiscal year (July 1 - June 30).

DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS

An incumbent in this position performs a variety of law enforcement activities during an assigned shift, which may include crime response, patrol, investigation, traffic enforcement, crime prevention and public safety, case presentation and variable shifts. 3.        Have satisfactorily completed a P.O.S.T. approved academy.

4.         Possess a valid Class CCalifornia Driver's License by date of appointment.

5.         Possess a personal history which is compatible with the effective performance of sworn police duties.

6.         Have the physical strength, stamina and agility adequate to perform all duties of a Police Officer.

7.         Hear well enough to comprehend radio transmissions and long-range conversations.

8.         Have adequate written and oral communication skills to give instructions and explanations, conduct information-gathering interviews and write reports.

9.        Be able to deal with a variety of people and situations, exercising judgment, tact and self-restraint.

10.        Have adequate reading skills to understand and interpret orders, bulletins, laws, codes and court decisions.

11.        Be willing to work irregular hours and days and at various locations in the City.

12.        Be able to interact positively and cooperate with co-workers, respond politely to customers, and work as a team member.

13.        Be able to function under demanding time pressure.

14.      Be able to respond in a positive manner to supervision.

15.      Be able to attend work and perform duties on a regular and consistent basis

Education: Graduation from high school or equivalent.

Experience: Current employment as a regular (non-probationary) full-time, paid Police Officer in a public agency.

Certification: Basic POST Certificate
