San Mateo County Health is seeking an experienced individual for the position of Public Health Clinics Strategic Projects Manager. This management position will report to the Public Health Clinics Manager, overseeing Edison Clinics and Mobile Clinics and will have broad project management responsibility for key strategic efforts affecting the Public Health clinics.
 
There is currently one regular vacancy in the Public Health, Policy and Planning Division located in San Mateo, CA.
 
Primary responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:  

• Quality assurance and improvement:  build and visualize data in management reports and dashboards; convert data to information and use it to guide process improvement.
• Process improvement:  facilitate, document, track, organize, measure progress; e.g., conduct improvement work within daily huddles.
• Project management:  lead projects and provide ad hoc support of projects.
• Knowledge management:  inventory and maintain infrastructure of core programmatic documents and processes, how files are stored and shared.
• Partnership building:  support internal staff operational needs; coordinate with other stakeholders, such as staff from Behavioral Health & Recovery Services, Human Services Agency, Health IT, San Mateo Medical Center, grant makers, state agencies, etc.
• Management of administrative staffing:  supervise intermittent interns and volunteers.
• Contract and MOU support:  assist Clinics Manager to write scopes of work, produce required reports and invoices for categorical funding and operational agreements.
• Revenue optimization support:  oversee billing quality assurance and improvement, facilitate braided funding opportunities and oversight.
• Policy and procedures facilitation:  maintain inventory and lead update processes through completion, including occasional initial literature reviews or research and coordination of stakeholders.
• Change management and leadership synchronization:  coordinate staff engagement, training, feedback to ensure successful system changes, take meeting minutes, contribute to agendas, track on-going project work in support of meeting goals.

Ideal candidate will possess:  

• Experience with project management and process improvement as the lead.
• Knowledge and/or experience with:  County of San Mateo; health; people experiencing homelessness; HIV and Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs).
• Data skills including: requirements gathering; ad hoc report building; data and dashboard management.
• Knowledge of and/or experience with information technology systems including:  Power Business Intelligence (BI); advanced Excel; eClinical Works (eCW); ARIES; Microsoft SharePoint; Epic; Workday reporting.

Education and Experience: 
Any combination of training and experience that would provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is qualifying.  A typical way to obtain the required qualifications would be:
 

Equivalent to graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in business administration, public administration, or a related field. At least one year of professional administrative experience is typically required at the Associate Management Analyst level, and at least 3 years for the Management Analyst level.

Licenses and Certifications: 

• Depending upon assignment, possession of a valid California Driver's License.

Under general supervision, the Light Rail Power Supervisor supervises and coordinates the overhead power and substation maintenance and repair of the light rail system.

Distinguishing Characteristics
This is the first full supervisory level in the maintenance and repair of electric power systems for light rail, including overhead and substations. The next higher class of Light Rail Way, Power and Signal Superintendent manages the overall activities of the program and supervises this class.

About Way, Power & Signal Maintenance
Way, Power & Signal Maintenance is responsible for timely and reliable maintenance, preventive maintenance, inspections, repair and servicing of the light rail right-of-way, rail system power, tracks, signals, station facilities and related equipment. Components of the Way, Power & Signal unit are:
 

• Station & Wayside Maintenance: Station & Wayside Maintenance maintains and repairs (including graffiti removal) light rail stations, terminal buildings, restrooms, park & ride lots, landscaping, fences, guardrails, and other trackside areas.

• Track Maintenance: Track Maintenance maintains (including right-of-way weed eradication, vegetation control, and graffiti removal), performs preventive maintenance, inspects, services and repairs rail, switches, ties, roadbed, and track systems.

• Power Maintenance: Power Maintenance maintains (including trackside right-of-way tree trimming), performs preventive maintenance, inspects, repairs, and services light rail electric power systems, including overhead, substations, lighting, and other electrical systems.

Employment Standards

San Mateo Medical Center is seeking an experienced Surgery Scheduling Specialist for a Full-Time, Extra-help position for the Surgery Department. The Surgery Scheduling Specialist provides technical, complex and specialized administrative support to surgeons and patients scheduled for surgery, which includes interaction with operating room staff and patients; handles multiple competing priorities; interacts with diverse customer groups; handles multiple patient-related tasks such as tracking patient financials to ensure information is correctly entered; and moves patients from the clinic to the operating room, including all pre-operative processes necessary for the patients prior to surgery, pre-op process sheets and clinic schedules, data entry of items into the operative database, financial reconciliation, and post-op order sets, and may have some responsibilities for ordering supplies or equipment.
 
The ideal candidate for this position will possess excellent communications skills, including the ability to communicate complex medical terminology to a variety of people with varying levels of medical knowledge. In addition, they would possess skills in conflict resolution, and problem solving. The ideal candidate will have the ability to work with challenging patients, and patients who may have a language or communication barrier. This position will require attention to detail, and therefore the ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task.
 
NOTE: The ability to speak, read and write in fluent English and Spanish is preferred for this position.
 
 Duties for this position may include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Tracking patient financials to be sure they are correctly entered.

Light Rail Vehicle (LRV) Maintenance is located at the Guadalupe Light Rail Division. LRV Maintenance is responsible for timely and reliable maintenance, preventive maintenance, inspections, repair and servicing of light rail vehicles and service equipment.

After a light rail vehicle returns from revenue service at the end of each day, Maintenance performs an interior inspection/walk-through of the vehicle, analyzes the Operator Defect Card, performs a visual inspection of the vehicle undercarriage, performs exterior and interior cleaning, cleans and repairs windows and seating, and removes and repairs graffiti and vandalism.

Training and experience equivalent to a high school diploma and four years of experience in the maintenance and repair of electrically powered rail transit vehicles.

OR

Training and experience equivalent to completion of a two-year degree in electronic technology and two years of experience in the installation, maintenance or repair of electro-mechanical systems similar to those found in VTA light rail vehicles.

OR

Demonstrated experience and training equivalent to a high school diploma and four years of experience in a maintenance environment working on systems similar to those found in a light rail vehicle including air conditioning, DC motors, generators, circuit diagrams, lighting and electrical troubleshooting.

Possession of a valid California Class C driver's license and the ability to qualify for and maintain a Class B license with passenger (P) endorsement and a maintenance LRV operation certification.

Must be available to work weekends, holidays, and odd and unusual hours.

OASIS is community field-based mental health services provided to older adults at their place of residence. This home visit services include medication evaluation and monitoring, individual counseling/therapy, and case management. This multiple discipline team with language capacity in English, Spanish, and Chinese, consists of Psychiatrists, Licensed Clinical Social Workers, Licensed Marriage & Family Therapists, a Community Mental Health Nurse, and a Peer Support Worker. Services are available to San Mateo County residents age 60 and over with issues of mobility and mental health conditions that impact their day-to-day functioning.  

Clinicians will use evidence-based approach to perform assessment, diagnosis, make medical necessity treatment plans, case management, individual therapy, and work with family members of clients' and other community providers for clients' mental health follow-up care needs. These interventions are provided in field setting or in clients' place of residence, and/or as needed to clients who are living in the community.

Clinicians are committed to providing medical necessity treatment that supports the clients' goals of independence and self-sufficiency with other service providers' support to continually live in the community with better quality of life. These positions embrace the challenge of providing simultaneous cooccurring treatment for both mental illness and substance use disorders in some cases; to work in an older adult outpatient setting as a member of a multidisciplinary team in collaboration and within the system of care.  

The ideal candidates will possess:  

• A current license as either a Licensed Clinical Social Worker or Marriage and Family  
• Therapist, or are collecting hours to take the licensing exam;  
• Solid clinical treatment, assessment, diagnostic and evaluation skills;

The Role:

The City of Redwood City is seeking Firefighter/Engineers who are licensed paramedics. Under direction of the Fire Captain, the Firefighter/Engineer will perform firefighting and fire prevention duties aimed at protecting life and property, operate and maintain firefighting equipment, and provide basic medical assistance.  Firefighter/Engineers also provide Advanced Life Support first responder pre-hospital emergency medical care and emergency medical assistance, perform minor station maintenance, and participate in training to maintain skills.  Please see the Firefighter/Engineer job description for more details.

Required Qualifications:

Experience and Training Guidelines:
A typical way to demonstrate the applicant possesses the required knowledge and ability may be obtained through the following ways:

1. Two years (2) of full-time firefighting service.
2. Possession of a California State Fire Training Firefighter I certificate is required.

Minimum Qualifications for consideration - Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:

Education/Training: Equivalent to a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in civil engineering, environmental engineering, environmental sciences or a related field. 

Experience: Five years of increasingly responsible wastewater treatment plant and collection system operations and maintenance experience including two years of administrative and supervisory responsibility. One year of Biological Nutrient Removal Treatment Processing is desirable.
