The Position:
The Accountant performs professional work involved in first line supervision of accounting functions, complex account development, maintenance, modification, and reporting. Under direction, the position is responsible for applying generally accepted accounting principles to analyze, maintain, reconcile and verify a variety of budgetary, accounting and other fiscal records. The position supervises daily operations in a variety of functional accounting areas and maintains adequate oversight and internal controls over such operations. Public contact is extensive and involves staff at various levels within the organization, local government agencies and other outside entities for the purpose of exchanging technical accounting procedural and policy information. A high degree of independent judgment and creativity are required to analyze data and develop resolutions to a variety of minor and major problems that occur. The consequences of errors in judgment can be costly in employee time, public relations and/or institutional funding; however, administrative controls limit the risk of serious consequences in loss of revenue. An Accountant can direct the work of accounting paraprofessional, clerical and other staff as assigned.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties below are representative of the duties of the classification and are not intended to cover all of the duties performed by the incumbent(s) of any particular position. • Uses a variety of spreadsheet and other software to analyze complex financial, statistical data
• • Composes and prepares correspondence, recommendations and reports using a variety of computer software
• Posts revenue, abatement, expenses, accounts receivable and liabilities to the ledger
• Monitors and records various investments, certificates of deposit, and other fund instruments as assigned
• Monitors, reconciles and balances expenditure and revenue control accounts and general ledger accounts
• Provides regular financial reports
• Researches, compiles data for, and prepares complex fiscal reports to local, state, and federal agencies as required
• Provides input into the development and modification of database programs, screens, data formats and record keeping
• Prepares cash reconciliations
• Prepares monthly income analysis summaries, cash flow statements, and fund balance statements as needed
• Maintains chart of accounts
• Sets up and maintains database and other online resources of data
• Plans and reviews report data and conclusions with management staff
• Monitors and evaluates performance of internal and external computerized financial record systems and develops recommendations, in conjunction with information technology staff, to implement system improvements and upgrades and to maintain effective integration of systems
• Plans, coordinates and supervises daily operations in functional accounting areas, including the training, staff development, direction and evaluation of accounting and support staff
• Compiles financial data for internal and external audits as needed
• Coordinates required changes in district fiscal records, policies, and procedures, in conjunction with senior management and other staff
• Updates and drafts procedures as necessary
• Monitors and interprets federal and state regulations and guidelines and assures compliance with requirements
• Exchanges information with college and district staff at all levels regarding policies and procedures related to the assigned functional accounting area; provides technical information as a resource to various offices within the district
• Implements financial requirements of contractual agreements made by the district
• Assists staff in fiscal year-end closing of district records and preparation of year-end reports
• Assists internal and external auditors in preparation of final reports as needed
• Attends, meetings, workshops, and other gatherings to obtain most current information
• Drives a motor vehicle to visit off-site locations for meetings, conferences, workshops and other activities
• Performs other related duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business administration, finance or a closely related field OR an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Successful work experience of increasing responsibility that has included government fund accounting, financial analysis and reporting; project budgeting, planning, and design
• Experience in the coordination of workloads with people at various levels within an organization
• Skill in complex data research, analysis and reporting
• Skill in the use of spreadsheets and a variety of computer software to compose and prepare data analysis, reports, summaries, correspondence and other materials
• Demonstrated cultural competence, sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, faculty, and staff
• Demonstrated skills in written and oral communication, including public speaking and persuasive communication

Physical Requirements:
This classification requires multi-level tasking and strategic planning, attention to detail and organization of financial data, active listening; individual to large-group communication, persuasion, good memory, tact, patience, flexibility and the ability to drive a motor vehicle to off-site locations in order to perform the essential functions.

THE POSITION

Tri-City Mental Health Authority is currently hiring to fill one (1) full-time vacancy for the position of Clinical Supervisor I/II within the Mobile Crisis Care Program (MCCP). Tri-City’s MCCP is a 24/7 mobile crisis response team with shifts that may include evenings, weekends, daytime hours, and holidays.

The MCCP Clinical Supervisor I/II will be part of a team that provides crisis intervention and stabilization, linkage and referral, consultation, and education within the scope of practice. The MCCP Clinical Supervisor I/II will report to the Mobile Crisis Care Clinical Program Manager.

This position is responsible for a variety of ongoing responsibilities including, but not limited to:

• Respond to client (Full-Service Partnership and Adult and Children’s Outpatient Programs and other specialty mental health services) crisis calls with or without law enforcement;
• Perform field-based and telephone emergency mental health evaluations and crisis stabilization in accordance with agency procedure.
•  Provide crisis intervention and stabilization services to individuals, groups, and families;
•  Identify treatment needs and make appropriate referrals for necessary services;
•  Perform triage and linkages to non-client community members in the Tri-City catchment areas.
•  The Clinical Supervisor incumbent must be available for consultation during and following crisis calls  as well as to fill in when back-up is needed in the field during scheduled work hours.

Laterals may be eligible to receive a hiring bonus of up to $20,000 disbursed in four equal phases: the first phase upon successful completion of the testing process and acceptance of a final offer of employment, and the last phase two years after completion of the probationary period as a Police Officer.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

Experience: One (1) year in a law enforcement agency within the last thirty-six (36) months and possession of a current Basic California P.O.S.T Certificate.

Education: High school diploma or equivalent (possession of an Associate's degree or Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution is desirable).

License
Possession and maintenance of a valid Class C California Driver's License.

Necessary Special Qualifications: 

- Free of any felony convictions.

- A citizen of the United States or a permanent resident alien who is eligible for and has applied for citizenship (Government Code Para. 1031).

POLICE OFFICER

Candidates must have successfully completed a California POST approved Basic Police Academy with a valid California POST Academy Certificate; OR Currently attending a POST approved Basic Police Academy and/or has been accepted to a POST approved Basic Police Academy.

The City of Hayward is accepting application for Police Officer--Academy Graduates and Academy Participants. Police Officers at the City of Hayward perform a wide variety of law enforcement assignments including but not limited to: patrol, traffic control, criminal and juvenile investigation, and radio communication. These require operating a patrol car or motorcycle, arresting and citing violators of laws, writing reports, serving warrants, testifying in court and providing information to the public.

Those candidates who are currently participating in the Police Academy would be hired as a Police Officer Trainee ($5,837-$6,125). The Police Officer Trainee is hired into a civilian position for the period of time they are assigned to the police academy. Upon successful completion of training at the academy, Trainees will then be sworn in and appointed to the classification of Police Officer. Police Officer Trainee benefits are limited to those of a civilian employee.

DEFINITION 

Under general supervision, the Police Officer patrols the City's commercial, industrial, and residential districts; enforces laws and ordinances of the state of California and the city of Hayward, works closely with the community to preserve the peace and promote public safety; carefully documents own activities in written reports and statements; performs a wide variety of law enforcement assignments such as patrol, traffic control, criminal and juvenile investigation, radio communications, and administrative services; provides court testimony; investigates crimes such as burglary, robbery, assault, and disturbing the peace; assists firefighters and emergency medical technicians; and performs related duties as assigned.

DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS 

Work normally consists of routine police tasks performed according to Department rules and regulations. Incumbents receive general and special instructions and must be able to act without direct supervision. The absence of ongoing supervisory responsibilities distinguishes this class from the class of Police Sergeant.

Position Summary

Under general direction, performs work in connection with a wide variety of engineering projects related to inspections, repairs and upgrades of District bridges, buildings and other structures and facilities. May manage projects involving architectural and engineering personnel engaged in the planning, design and construction phases of District facility projects.  Coordinates and implements engineering methods and policies affecting a wide range of engineering activities involved in facility inspections, repairs and upgrades of District facilities; maintains contacts with architectural and engineering consultants, governmental agencies, general public and contractors in connection with facility engineering matters; reviews engineering calculations, plans, specifications and technical papers. 

Essential Responsibilities

• Prepares and leads the preparation of reports, calculations, design plans, specifications, schedules, cost estimates and other materials related to the planning, design, maintenance repairs and construction phases of District facility projects and refers them to Directing Civil Engineer for final approval
• Prepares and refers to the District Engineer or designee, contract documents and agreements for the planning, design and construction phases of District facility projects 
• Oversees work of and manages contracts with professional architectural and engineering consultants, contractors, utility companies, property owners 
• Confers with other departments and regulatory agencies relative to engineering District facility projects and work programs to ensure proper coordination of all related activities and responsibilities
• Makes field trips and inspections to resolve differences of opinion between engineers and contractors' representatives as they relate to facility repairs and improvements
• Conducts and attends conferences and meetings in connection with planning and design of improvement and construction projects
• Makes oral presentations
• Knows and follows the safety and health rules and safe working practices applicable to his or her job
• Ensures that employees under his or her supervision follow established safe work practices and obey all safety rules
• Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with District employees, customers, vendors and all others contacted during the course of work using principles of excellent customer service
• Performs additional related duties as assigned
• Regular and reliable performance and attendance is required

THE POSITION
The City of Campbell Recreation and Community Services Department is seeking an enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and experienced Swim Team Coach for Campbell Wave Swim Team, ages 6-18 years old, at the Campbell Community Center. This position reports to the Aquatics Recreation Specialist. 

Salary Range: $17.00 to $25.00 per hour DOQ

Part-Time, Temporary Non-Benefited position

Schedule: Actual work schedule to be determined through mutual agreement with supervisor. Employee may be required to work weekends.

Location: Campbell Community Center, 1 West Campbell Avenue, Campbell

Responsibilities: 

• Swim team coordination with Aquatics Recreation Specialist;  
• Prepares and implements work-outs;
• Tracks and encourages team enrollment;
• Maintains various records;
• Organizes and attends swim meets;
• Evaluates stroke technique;
• Assists with budget preparation;
• Has thorough knowledge of emergency response protocol, risk management and emergency care
• Complies and enforces all City of Campbell and Campbell Recreation and Community Services Department policies and procedures.

In addition, the essential functions of employment include:

• Assistance in developing, organizing and supervising daily operations and practices;
• Assistance in evaluating Campbell Wave swim team program;
• Documentation including daily participant attendance;
• Planning, execution and evaluation of swim meet participation;
• Professional interaction and effective communication with children, swimmers and the general public.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Minimum age at time of hire is 18 years old.
• Two (2) or more years of swim coaching experience
• Valid California Driver’s license.
• Current CPR certification.
• Safety Training for Swim Coaches or Lifeguard Training certification.
• TB Clearance.
• Fingerprint clearance (Department of Justice background check). The City of Campbell will schedule fingerprint appointment and encumber cost upon hire.

Highly desirable, but not mandatory upon hiring: 

• Professional certification(s), including American Swim Coaches’ Association or USA
• Swimming Coaching, CPR, Safety Training for Swim Coaches or Lifeguard Training.

The City of Campbell's Police Department is seeking qualified candidates for Public Safety Dispatcher!

Under general supervision, to receive and transmit routine and emergency telephone, radio and computer messages; to keep a variety of police records; and to do related work as required.

Typical Duties may include, but are not limited to the following:

• Answers all telephone calls promptly and courteously;
• Makes rapid and accurate determination of the nature of each call and the degree, severity, and location of any emergency;
• Refers non-emergency callers to the appropriate agency or other resource;
• Questions emergency callers to elicit complete and accurate information necessary for emergency response and enters information in the computer-aided dispatch system;
• Gather information using multiple audio and visual resources;
• Selects emergency response units in exact accordance with established user agency policies and procedures;
• Promptly and properly alerts response units in exact accordance with user agency policies and procedures;
• Maintains current status on all field units;
• Closely monitors any situation presenting a potential danger to the life or safety of field personnel and takes immediate action to dispatch assistance as required;
• Maintains radio contact with field units and enforces proper channel control, discipline, and courtesy;
• Maintains records and logs reflecting the outcome and details of emergency incidents;
• Participates in training and evaluation activities to establish and maintain a high level of proficiency;
• Accesses automated law enforcement systems, inputs data and information, and makes accurate entries into automated record files in accordance with applicable laws, statutes and Department of Justice requirements; and

• Perform a high standard of customer service, professional conduct and civic responsibility.

Hours of Work: Public Safety Dispatchers typically work 12 hours shifts, with 4 work days one week and 3 work days the following week.  Shifts available area a day and night shift, or variation, that can rotate every six months.  Dispatchers may have to work weekends, holidays and overtime. 

Special Conditions: Incumbents must have the ability to work, as assigned, on schedules that may include Saturdays, Sundays, holidays, and non-traditional work hours; and a willingness to work overtime as required.

Other Requirements: Must be able to perform all the essential functions of the job assignment.  All candidates will be required to pass a City background investigation, which will include fingerprinting and may include polygraph and/or psychological testing.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education & Experience:

• Graduation from an accredited high school (GED may be substituted for a high school diploma); plus
• One year of successful full-time responsible experience performing work where the essential functions of the job involved public contact, computer usage or heavy telephone traffic.

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS FOR APPLICATION:

• Typing Certificate certifying a minimum of 40 wpm dated within one year of the application date; AND
• Criticall Dispatcher test with a passing score dated within one year of the application date; OR
