Your Role: As the Current Operations Team Leader, you will be part of a collaborative team responsible for monitoring and managing airport operations as part of the AIOC. Under the direction of the AIOC Shift Leader, the Current Operations Team Leader is responsible for overseeing all current operations-related activities in the AIOC on landside, in the terminal complex and on the airfield. This position is responsible for maintaining awareness, sharing information, and directing tactical responses to current operational issues and impacts in coordination with the Current Operations Section and other AIOC personnel. What You’ll Do:

• Lead the Current Operations Section including participating in performance management processes and identifying proper staffing and training needs for all personnel in the section, and escalating issues to the AIOC Director for resolution.
• Provide succinct and clear updates and information in AIOC shift briefings and SFO leadership briefings on the status of current operations.
• Collaborate with AIOC personnel to identify current operational issues, generate actionable solutions, see the solution through to completion, and document improvement opportunities.
• Provide real-time reports as needed when an unexpected event occurs and significant changes affecting KPIs, operations, or function performance are detected during the day.
• Oversee the airport operation in real time, elevating areas of concern proactively within the Current Operations Section and in concert with other AIOC sections; actively drive responses to events that may or are affecting airport operations.
• Determine best courses of action and launch field response operations to remedy operational issues.
• Lead and direct field resources to plan ahead and remain prepared for anticipated trouble spots to support future operational periods and shifts.
• Engage appropriate personnel when a continuity event or disruption occurs that requires focused attention to resolve.
• Manage information flow in the AIOC to promote constant, comprehensive information sharing between team members.
• Develop, monitor, drive, and report on multiple KPI standards.
• Liaise with tenants, airline partners, and government agencies to resolve issues and notify of disruptions.
• Provide guidance, facilitation, and oversight for Current Operations Section team members to resolve issues.

How to qualify

Education: Possession of a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university AND

Experience: Five (5) years of professional airport/aviation work experience in facilities or operations at a medium to large airport.

Substitution:

Education Substitution: Additional qualifying full-time work experience (2000 hours equal one year) as described above may substitute up to two (2) years of the required education. One (1) year of work experience equals to 30 semester units or 45 quarter units.

One-year full-time employment is equivalent to 2,000 hours (2,000 hours of qualifying work experience is based on a 40-hour work week). Any overtime hours that you work above 40 hours per week are not included in the calculation to determine full time employment.

ABOUT THE POSITION

The City of Redwood City Public Works Services Department invites you to apply for the position of Public Works Maintenance Worker I/II. The Judicial Council of California is accepting applications for the position of Fiscal Supervisor for Budget Services.   

The Fiscal Supervisor over the Court Budget Unit (CBU) in the Budget Services office plans, organizes, supervises, reviews, and evaluates the work of assigned staff responsible to support all aspects of budget development and implementation for the 58 trial courts. The Supervisor oversees the development of allocations and distribution of $3 billion annually to the trial courts and manages other budgetary processes and programs that support court operations. The Department of Public Works plans, designs, constructs, operates and maintains facilities and equipment that are safe and accessible to the clients of County agencies, the general public, and County employees. The Position
Utility Workers perform a variety of manual tasks such as building and grounds maintenance, minor equipment repair, and transportation of materials, and supplies in a locked facility.
 
As part of their duties, Utilities Workers assist the skilled trade workers including painters, carpenters, and engineers. Other duties include, but are not limited to: operating and maintaining equipment or hand tools used in the maintenance of buildings, grounds, and facilities; assembling, maintaining, and repairing equipment and furniture; providing complete custodial services to areas such as medical examination rooms, public restrooms, and lobbies; utilizing the assistance of and instructing incarcerated individuals, clients, or other staff to perform work; ordering and receiving supplies, tools, and equipment; delivering supplies to appropriate areas; digging holes, cleaning-out gutters or storm drains, and disposing of debris; operating a car, van, or light delivery vehicle to transport materials; operating and maintaining power tools, hand tools, and specialized equipment; and performing related duties as assigned.

The ideal candidate will be:

The Utility Worker position may be assigned to one of multiple sections within the Department.  At this time, up to three different sections of the Facilities and Capital Projects Division are seeking qualified applicants.  More information on the various Divisions and sections of the Department is available at:  https://www.smcgov.org/publicworks/our-organization. 

The Building Services section provides janitorial services and a variety of building services for more than 70 County facilities, with over 4 million in total square footage. Core activities of the section include interior office maintenance, exterior office maintenance, receipt and delivery of supplies, room set-up and office configuration, and parking control. If hired into the Building Services section, additional duties may be:

• Provide complete custodial services and support to the custodial staff.
• Provide support and services to our parking structures and parking enforcement which may include providing custodial services and issuing parking citations.
• Maintain and clean all outdoor premises which may include pressure washing, window washing, operating a sweeper, etc. 

The Facilities Maintenance & Operations Redwood City section is responsible for the operation, maintenance, installation and repair of machinery and equipment in County operated buildings. This includes HVAC systems, boilers, lighting systems, refrigeration, generators, water treatment, and emergency power systems. It also includes crafts services such as carpentry, painting, plumbing, and lock smithing services required to maintain County facilities. If hired into the Facilities Maintenance & Operations (FM&O) section, additional skills needed, and duties may include: 

• Identify weeds from plants.
• Work independently.
• Dig and set sign and fence posts.
• Attached signs to wood and/or metal posts.

Construction Services provides competitive professional crafts services beyond the scope of routine maintenance provided by the Facilities Operations and Maintenance section, and contracts with the County and Cities to provide carpentry, graffiti abatement, and lighting district services. Trades represented include electrical, plumbing, carpentry and painting.  If hired into the Construction Services section, additional duties may be:

• Assist trades with painting, carpentry, light electrical, and clean-up of work site.
• Empty trash at offices and vacuum floors.
• Dig trenches or post holes on various projects.
• Handle small moving jobs for other departments.
• Knowledge of how to use hand and power tools.

Qualifications

Utility Worker I ($28.35 - $35.45/Hourly) is the entry or trainee level class in this series. Initially, under close supervision, incumbents perform the more routine duties while receiving on-the-job instruction and gaining practical experience. As experience is gained, there is greater independence of action within established guidelines. Incumbents may advance to the higher level after gaining experience and demonstrating proficiency which meet the qualifications of the higher-level class.

Utility Worker II ($29.90 - $37.38/Hourly) is the experienced journey level class in this series. Under general supervision, incumbents independently perform the full range of duties. All the positions are characterized by the presence of fairly clear guidelines from which to make decisions and the availability of supervision in non-routine circumstances. Incumbents should demonstrate a thorough knowledge of operations and procedures and the ability to independently accomplish day-to-day tasks under normal conditions and to instruct others.

Education and Experience:

• Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to qualify is: One year of experience providing building and facility maintenance and minor equipment repair.

Knowledge of:

• Methods, materials, operations, tools, and practices used in moving, loading, arranging, and transporting materials, records, and supplies.
• Principles and techniques used in basic custodial services and minor equipment repair.
• Fixtures, building hardware, and equipment.
• Safety regulations, precautions, and practices.
• Methods, practices and equipment used in the receipt, storage, handling and ordering of materials and equipment.
• Basic arithmetic.

The Bay Area Air District (Air District) is a regional government agency, committed to achieving clean air to protect the public's health and the environment.  The Air District's jurisdiction encompasses all of seven counties - Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, San Francisco, San Mateo, Santa Clara and Napa, and portions of two others - southwestern Solano and southern Sonoma.
  
The Air District is currently accepting applications for the position of Senior Rule Development Engineer (Senior Air Quality Engineer) in the Rules & Strategic Policy Division. This is an open recruitment for one (1) full-time, represented positions.
 

About the Position

The Rules and Strategic Policy Division works with all levels of the Air District, including staff, management, executives, and Board members in developing and modifying Air District rules to provide emissions reductions to improve air quality both regionally and at the neighborhood level and protect the climate. The Senior Rule Development Engineer (Senior Air Quality Engineer) will: 

• Work closely with professional and technical staff and perform complex scientific research and economic analyses and engineering work for developing regulations to control air pollutants (including those contributing to climate change and contributing to localize air quality impacts in overburdened communities).
• Review and draft regulatory language, develop and implement cost effectiveness and incremental cost effectiveness calculations for a wide variety of sources in an industrial sector with a variety of control options.
• Analyze emissions inventories to determine baseline emissions and reduction estimates for rules under development. 
• Review environmental and socioeconomic analyses required by statute.
• Develop testing and verification procedures. 
• Advise Air District managers, brief executives, and present at workshops, committee meetings and board hearings.
• Work closely with the Community Engagement Section staff and other Air District divisions to strengthen partnerships with key community stakeholders.
• Manage external work duties and efforts of various contractors.
• Perform related work as assigned.

DEFINITION

Under direction, provides lead direction to engineering staff and performs the more difficult and complex professional engineering work in a variety of areas such as permit application evaluation, toxic risk screening and assessment evaluations, compliance audits and source testing; modeling and source inventory; performs related work as assigned.

DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS

This is the specialist level class in this series. In addition to performing the more difficult and complex engineering work, responsibilities include functioning as the project leader for a variety of engineering projects, providing training to other District staff and coordinating technical data gathering and compilation and the preparation of special and technical reports. This class is distinguished from Supervising Air Quality Engineer in that the latter supervises the staff and participates in the activities of assigned air quality engineering responsibilities.

This is the advanced lead level in the professional engineering series. Incumbents provide lead direction to air quality engineers and performs highly specialized and difficult engineering projects. Incumbents are assigned to design and implement programs that require considerable professional knowledge and the use of independent judgement. This class is distinguished from the Principal Air Quality Engineer in that the latter has the responsibility for developing new programs and handling the most difficult, sensitive, or critical projects.

DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS:

Construction Inspector I

The Construction Inspector I is the entry level class in the Construction Inspector series. Incumbents are responsible for making field inspections of a variety of public and private construction projects related to City facilities and private development, ensuring that construction work is completed in conformance with applicable standards, plans, specifications and City ordinances. This class is alternately staffed with Construction Inspector II and incumbents may advance to the higher-level after gaining experience and demonstrating a level of proficiency that meets the qualifications of the higher-level class.

Construction Inspector II

The Construction Inspector II is the journey level class responsible for inspecting, observing, measuring and testing materials utilized in construction of public facilities such as streets, storm drains, sidewalks and other public works construction to assure compliance with City standards, codes and specifications. Work is done in the office and field. This class is distinguished from the next higher classification of Construction Manager, in that the latter is responsible for overall supervision of the Public Works construction inspection program.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED/EXERCISED:

Construction Inspector I

Receives immediate supervision from the Construction Manager or City Engineer, or designee. May receive lead direction from a Construction Inspector II. Incumbents in this classification do not routinely exercise supervision.

Construction Inspector II

Receives general supervision from the Construction Manager or City Engineer, or designee. Exercises technical and functional supervision over assigned staff.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

(include but are not limited to the following)

• Inspects the work quality and materials used in a variety of public works construction projects, capital improvement projects, residential, commercial and industrial development within the city to ensure conformance with approved plans, specifications, codes, ordinances, laws and departmental regulations; observes and measures materials used in street, gutter, curb, sidewalk, parking lots, water and sewer systems, storm drain construction, underground improvements and capital projects; takes samples and arranges for laboratory tests.
• Conducts field sampling and testing of construction materials; directs lab testing operation; analyzes and interprets lab test results and writes test reports; approves materials for use on construction projects; makes field determinations of scope and method of work to be performed; authorizes field changes to plans when required.

• Demonstrates a full understanding of applicable policies, procedures and work methods associated with assigned duties; serves in a lead capacity in the training and scheduling of assigned personnel; coordinates project work and design alterations with developers, contractors, public utilities, engineers, the public and other City departments; identifies alternative construction methods and materials; provides interpretation of the City’s standard specification manual.

PHYSICAL, MENTAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL WORKING CONDITIONS:

Position requires sitting, standing, walking on level and slippery surfaces, reaching, twisting, turning, kneeling, bending, stooping, squatting, crouching, grasping and making repetitive hand movement in the performance of daily duties. The position also requires both near and far vision when inspecting work and operating assigned equipment. The need to lift, carry and push tools, equipment and supplies weighing 25 pounds or more is also required. Additionally, the incumbent in this outdoor position works in all weather conditions including wet, hot and cold. The nature of the work also requires the incumbent to climb ladders, enter confined spaces, use a variety of hand tools and equipment, drive motorized vehicles, work in heavy vehicle traffic conditions and often work with constant interruptions.

The Community Library Manager:

• Plans, develops, coordinates, organizes, and supervises the activities of one or more community libraries.

• Manages and coaches a team of talented staff to provide excellent and innovative library services to the community in a positive environment.

• Works collaboratively with a broad range of stakeholders to strategically develop meaningful community partnerships.
• Is responsible for ensuring our libraries are warm and welcoming, which includes ensuring marketing, collections, and physical spaces are actively maintained to reflect San Mateo County Libraries standards and brand.

The ideal candidate will have four years of experience as a librarian, including one year of supervisory experience, be highly effective in diverse settings, and proactively seek opportunities to make library services relevant to community members. Examples Of Duties

Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Plan, organize, direct, and supervise one or more branches of varying sizes.
• Assist higher-level management in planning, developing, and implementing goals, objectives, policies, and procedures that reflect the County Library's mission and service philosophy.
• Supervise professional and paraprofessional staff, including training, assigning, and evaluating staff, and resolving personnel issues.
• Plan, develop, and implement programs and activities to meet community needs.
• Keep up to date on librarianship.
• Recommend, select, and evaluate library materials based on users' needs and interests.
• Consult with users, staff and higher-level management and others to resolve complaints regarding materials, programs, policies, procedures, and performance.
• Manage branch facility and surrounding grounds.
• Participate in library planning groups to assist in library administration, including developing budget priorities. 
• Assist in the development of the Library budget by actively providing information on branch and community needs as well as providing requested information to Library Administration.

Qualifications

Education:

Library Branch Manager I - Three years of experience as a librarian.
Library Branch Manager II - Four years of experience as a librarian, including one year of supervisory experience.

Anyone may apply. Current County of San Mateo and County of San Mateo Superior Court of California employees with at least six months (1040 hours) of continuous service in a classified regular, probationary, or extra-help/limited term position prior to the final filing date will receive five points added to their final passing score.

The examination process will consist of an application screening based on the candidates' application and responses to the supplemental questions (weight: pass/fail). Candidates who pass the application screening may be invited to a panel interview (weight: 100%). Depending on the number of applicants, an application appraisal of education and experience may be used in place of other examinations or further evaluation of work experience may be conducted to group applicants by level of qualification. Applicants meeting the minimum qualifications are not guaranteed advancement through any subsequent phase of the examination. All examinations will be given in San Mateo County, California and applicants must participate at their own expense.
