The Wheatland Police Department is responsible for providing public safety for the city. Services provided by the Police department include uniformed patrol, investigative services, traffic enforcement and administration. Dispatch services are provided under a contract with the Yuba County Sheriff. The Police Department is staffed with 11.5 FTE positions, of which 9 are authorized sworn positions. The authorized department staffing includes 1 Police Chief, 1 Sergeant, 6 Officers, 3 part-time Reserves and 2 non-sworn positions.

To perform responsible clerical work and administrative duties involved with billing and collection of business registrations; the maintenance and review of licensing and permitting records; the entry of data processing; and/or assisting in the review and input of building permit applications, cannabis permits, and mobile food vendor permits.  The purpose of this recruitment is to fill a temporary/part-time position to work in the Building Division of the Community Development Department.   

IDEAL CANDIDATE

The Ideal Candidate is customer focused, able to communicate well both orally and in writing, and can prioritize multiple tasks with little direction. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Prepare and process business registrations.  Collect payments over the counter and through the mail.  Balance cash drawer and reconcile end of day receipts.  Set-up and maintain customers on a computer system.  Prepare or assist in the preparation of a variety of statistical reports as assigned.  Input purchase requisitions into computer system.  Enter and verify invoices for payment. Respond to routine permitting inquiries and provide customer service to the public at the permit counter, and/or via telephone, email, or fax.  Research and communicate the status of permits for applicants. Work with Building Inspectors and/or Code Compliance Officers to schedule inspections and pull related permits.  Process various transactions involving business registrations, cashiering and permitting.  Assist customers over the counter with respect to new business registrations and renewals, general building permit issues, and over the counter plan submittals.  Generate reports as needed utilizing the computerized program related to permitting and/or licensing.  Provide information and direction to the public related to community development, planning, building, engineering, code enforcement and permit processes via phone, e-mail and counter work.  Respond to citizen complaints and/or inquiries, referring more complex issues to higher level of authority as appropriate.  Review and check records, forms, and other documents for accuracy, completeness and conformance to rules and regulations.  Update forms and informational materials as needed.  Maintain files, both paper and computerized.  Regular, predictable, consistent and timely attendance is an essential function of the position.  Other duties as assigned.

POSITION 
To perform a variety of tasks in the maintenance of City-owned buildings, equipment and facilities.  The purpose of this recruitment is to fill a current temporary/part-time vacancy in our Community Services Department and to create a list for future vacancies.

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.

WORK HOURS
Position works approximately 16-20 hours per week in the afternoons and evenings, and will require some weekend hours.

• Provides administrative assistance to District Boards and Ad Hoc Committees as assigned, preparing and posting agendas and taking minutes of meetings.
• Provides backup for the executive assistant and other support staff and performs reception duties.

• May be required to drive District or personal vehicle.
• May notarize District contracts, agreements, leases, memos and other documents.

Summary:
Under general supervision, performs a variety of custodial tasks and provides oversight of rental groups, in accordance with District policies and procedures.

• Assist permit groups with set-up and breakdown of tables, chairs, and other equipment
• Promptly open and unlock facilities or close and secure facilities as scheduled
• Complete facility condition forms following permit group use and incident reports as needed

• Turn athletic field lights off and on for sports groups
• Sell and scan admission tickets special events and/or theater performances

This vacancy will be filled either as an Associate Engineer or Senior Engineer. The anticipated hiring range for the Associate Engineer position is $111,100 - $138,876 annually, with a full salary range up to $166,651. The anticipated hiring range for the Senior Engineer position is $122,634 - $153,293 annually, with a full salary range up to $183,952. DESCRIPTION  

The City of Thousand Oaks Public Works Department currently has an opening for an Associate/Senior Engineer! We are seeking engineers with the competence and experience to execute design and construction projects with confidence and professionalism. Ideal candidates will have demonstrated skills in the areas of water and wastewater utilities, land development, roadway improvement, energy resilience, engineering design, and/or construction management across all civil engineering disciplines. 

PRIMIARY RESPONSIBILITIES 

Associate Engineer:  

• Prepares and oversees the preparation of complex and technical engineering studies, plans, and reports   

• Assists the Division Manager and Team Leader/Senior Engineer in managing varying responsibilities including permitting, design and construction of water, wastewater, storm drain, pavement, energy resiliency and roadway improvements 

• Assists with the preparation of construction documents, drawings, estimates, and specifications    

• Coordinates and performs professional planning and engineering work including reviewing proposed land development plans 

• Participates in the review, development, and/or revision of the various elements of plans, ordinances, and other policies and procedures   

• Provide oversight of engineering consultants and/or co-workers  

• Meets and works with professional and public groups   

• Respond to residents regarding public works concerns  

• Assists in preparing basic engineering plans for roadway improvements including pavement, drainage and striping plans  

• Prepares engineering maps and drawings; participates in the filing and retrieval of engineering maps, documents, and records

The City of Thousand Oaks is seeking a responsible and motivated Environmental Compliance Aide (Hourly City Worker) who will provide assistance for the following programs: Drinking Water Quality, Pretreatment (Industrial Waste), and Stormwater Quality.

The Environmental Compliance Aide will report to the Hill Canyon Treatment Plant (9600 Santa Rosa Rd, Camarillo, CA 93012) and conduct work in the field throughout the City of Thousand Oaks.
